Awww I thought I could use my amiibo as a partner in classic and stuff. Damn.

I'M LOVING THIS GAME THO. Did a six player smash and holy shit. So much carnage.

THANK YOU

Just unlocked all the characters, working on this list now :)

No problem! Good luck!

Is there a list of stage unlock requirements? Still missing a few.

Well GAF I had an awful day today. The whole week actually has been really depressing. But I just bought a Wii U from Nintendo's website and I'm gonna be picking up Smash and Pokemon tomorrow.

And the consoles from Nintendo aren't gonna be smudged up right? Are they practically like new models or is there a lot of wear and tear?

This game looks great in the vids and online seems to be good (from the impressions here), I hope I'm not disappointed like I was when I bought the Wii for Smash Brawl. I really didn't like how that game felt, Melee was a bit too fast for me, I always liked the pace of SSB64 and I hope SSB4U is more like that.

You cannot imagine how hype I am right now!!!!!!!!!!!!! So here's a picture.

Yes my mirror is dirty. No I don't care right now

I bought a "refurbished" one from them and it came appearing completely brand new. Even had that new smell :P.

I bought a Wii U Lan adapter for this, but is it ok even on decent wifi? Then I won't have to use a powered usb-router when playing with the GC-controller adapter

I need to know this as well.

Does someone who has been having good online mind playing me?
I have had nothing but terrible experiences, so I wanna see if I can try getting something good in.
I get great games in Persona 4 Arena and even in Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R, so it's definitely not my connection.

I need to know this as well.

Obviously to some extent it's going to be chance whether you get a pristine one or not. However, a lot of people have reported getting brand-new looking Wii U's from Nintendo's refurbished lot. Some suspect that they're just literally selling brand new Wii U's as refurbished so that they can actually move units without making an official price drop down to $200.

You know, this games still look pretty beautiful on the game pad as well. I also have no issue with the controls so even less reason to play my 3DS version when someone want the Tv.

Do they come in retail boxes?

I was playing Monster Zero and several For fun and For Glory matches online and it been smooth as butter on wifi. I felt the online is good enough that I may not even need the LAN adapter. Of course For Fun may start to suck when it comes to lag when more people has this game later in the weeks. It only takes exactly one person with a lousy connection to stink it up.

I can't believe we are finally here.. We made it!

I have been following every thread, even though I didn't post much. Have fun GAF.

Feel free to add me, I need some Wii U friends

EDIT: the Hori GC controllers are good!

I'm new to the game but am really enjoying it. The control scheme is throwing me off though, and the right stick above the buttons (wiiu pro) seems like a bad idea. I have two gamecube controllers, maybe I'll get the adapter and it will flow a little easier for me.

Went with my friends to pick up their copies. I was only gonna get one Amiibo so I woundn't leave empty handed but I was weak.

Waiting for the game to update, the hype is real.

Alright, after playing online with a friend for a good solid 3-4 hours, I gotta say it certainly felt way better than playing online 3ds Smash. There were some times where lag would read it's ugly head but not enough times to ruin the smash goodness.

Finally got the game from the midnight launch, and the Villager amiibo.
Will be picking up the Pikachu one later today!

IT'S TIME TO SMASH!
(I'll probably join you all this afternoon)
ALSO:
What else you see here are all of the other Smash swag I collected besides the games and amiiibo.

Gold Coin from Best Buy
Cinch bag and pin from last week's Gamestop Wii U sneak peek.
T-Shirt from Comic-Con Nintendo Lounge Event.

Online works really well. This is pretty much what I always wanted from Smash Bros in my life. Good online and fun. 1v1 for glory everyday. I'm extremely satisfied.

I can't imagine how much better it'll be when I get my adapter tomorrow.
Oh and the wii u pro controller is fantastic. I'm starting to think I may not even need the gamecube controller anymore. I played Melee and brawl for the last decade with the GC controller but I'm not having an issue with the wii u pro pad at all. It's funny because I felt like the Xbox 360 controller for smash was horrible especially when I played Project M on dolphin.

Online doesnt feel anything like local to me. Are you guys really not noticing a difference?

Yea it's a slight difference but again it varies depending on who you're playing. It's not going to be perfect but when you come from the joke that was Brawl's online, this is like a huge step in the right direction. I'd say with a LAN adapter it'd be even better. The first person I played online had noticeable input lag but I tried again wtih someone else and it felt much better. Lag isn't going to be the same when playing different people on different setups.
