If they knew that they had a cut budget, and the knew that they were going online only, what was stopping them from reconstituting the story from 13 episodes to 12 episodes + a bonus. Especially because this episode, while OK, is ultimately pointless.

They didn't want to send their workers home earlier.

I still wished there were a series of mini chibi shorts, especially if they could've played out how stupid season 2 was.

Anyway, the clip show was tolerable, but I'm itching to get back to th main story now.

Man people are getting angry lol

I'm not raging out. Just kind of *shrugs*

How else do you react this? lol It's not like a clever well put together episode like the Ember Island players. It is what it is. And I understand that this is Nick's fault. I personally would have rather they just cut the episode all together. BUT....I would rather not have people get fired. So that is why on a personal level, I'm okay with the episode. Good on Bryke for looking out for their team. They are amazing IMO.

My only issue I guess, is that...this entire season has been such a misstep for me. So much potential coming off of Book 3's excellent season. And it feels totally squandered. The season is by no means bad. I think every episode on its own merits, are well written 22 min of entertainment. But this season in the larger context, is just dragging so much ass. It's in such a coma. And it's like THIS IS THE END OF YOUR SERIES. Do something with it. Come on.

Sigh. I feel totally let down by this season so far. And I'm having a hard time seeing the last 5 episodes fixing that. I really didn't want this series to end on such a limp note. I would have rather taken something fucked like Book 2 (at least that evoked an extreme reaction). Love or hate, it was something. This is just vanilla/boring....gah.

EDIT: Satch should change the title to: Legend of Coma Book 4: "A Feast of Snails zzzzz"

smh bryke

Get ready as everything will change when the evil Opal attacks.

Lol I just realize that they did a nod to the criticism of Unalaq when they introduced him in that phone conference.XD Man too bad there weren't much more cleverness like that part. Definitely the best thing from this episode.

Still better than Dexters final season, which was ass on a plate.

So it was just a clip show. Meh.

I did like that the writers were acknowledging the Amon the standup comedian meme.

Seems weird to have a clip show now. Wouldn't it have made more sense to have it after the finale as an extra for fans?

Having it now has ruined the flow of the season. Ah well, I won't deny I found it funny and nice to see things have progressed, but they really should have had this as a bonus for when the show finished.

Yeah lol, Dexter's last season was so bad. Hah. I can't believe it. But Dexter also went down hill since Season 4. I actually think Season 4 is overrated. I totally get why people love it (because of Lithgow), but it also had some of the worst writing in the series to date. And you could see the show starting to slip with that season (with how it had plot happen just to happen without any logical reason for why or how it happened).

So I think you should have expected Dexter's final season to be pure shit based on it limping along for so many season's in such a terrible state. I still get a kick out of watching interviews of the producers of that show, and them calling fans "pedestrian" in their views of how the show should have ended.

Christ.

That is what happens when you have a bunch of delusional suit and ties circle jerking themselves ferociously. To be a fly in that writing room. I'm sure they thought every episode and plot point was fuckin genius. A work of art. So deep. 2deep for audiences.

For people who didn't like it, it's not like the next episode can be worse, right?

lol

I mean..it was a clips episode. It wasn't terrible. It just was a clips episode lol. I think if anyone has issue with it, it's just the overall context of what this season has done (or hasn't done) kind of starting to weigh down. We have only 5 episodes left of the entire seires, and Bryke needs to reach for the damn shock paddles already. We flatlining.

This season has been very enjoyable. Every episode has entertained in one way or another. The only people who are complaining about the show are the ones who are counting down till the end.

Just stop. Enjoy the show for what it's doing. Stop criticizing it because you think it's going too slow. I'm not saying don't criticize the episode. Be my guess. But don't criticize the episode because of some arbitrary countdown of the series that you feel it should be moving faster.

Instead, enjoy the slower pace. Let Korra shine and develop in her last season. She needs these slower episodes to struggle so that when she overcomes them, it will be after a 50+ episode show and not because of the last 13 episodes.

I feel like this recent episode really puts everything into perspective and each retelling is a different view and interpretation of the show.

Mako's section is for the tweens who watches the show and wants the characters to be in love. Mako confronts his decisions and is called out by his grandma, cousin, and Wu.

Korra's section is for the older audience who sees and understands the adult themes that the show uses.

And Bolin's section is for the audience who just likes to watch the show because it's got awesome BENDING ACTION in it.

Pretty sure Varrick's last line was speaking directly to the audience and is an indicator of what to come over the next few episodes.

Remember we still have hours of show left. That's plenty of time to wrap things up.

Even during the down swing Season 4 was very well acted. 5 had...issues...6 was unadulterated shit that made me stop watching it during my last marathon session, 7 had some pretty good moments actually. 8 was.....fuckkkkkkk

Fuck that season

EDIT: Nvm, don't feel like getting into a debate. Brain is fried. Still stand by this season being disappointing though (final season or not, I think it's a poorly conceived and plotted season). If this was any other season, I would still be baffled as to why we are only 5 episodes away from the finale, and it feels like nothing has really happened (that we have been running in place).

I think "Enemy at the Gates" and "The Battle of Zaofu" are the most obvious example of poor pacing. Those should have been one episode; there was little done with the extra time a 2 episode format provides. So we ended up getting an episode of everyone dragging their asses for an inevitable conflict and an episode with an incredibly drawn-out fight that could have been five minutes long.

People calling Mako out on his bullshit and the Evil Phone Conference were great. Still sucks that this series had so much potential to be interesting and they've consistently fucked it up every time.

Apart of me kind of just wishes they would have shifted more focus on Korra and her getting back together. Rather then jumping around so much. It would have pissed off some fans, but this IS a show about Korra and her legend lol

I've just not been a fan at all how they have handled Kuvira's plot (just the overall pacing, and how they have handled the character). Feels like we are running in place. Writers should have just committed the first 4 episodes to purely Korra character development. If they would have really nailed it, then it would have been a really powerful way to set her up for the end. Then they could have gotten back and started building up on Kuvira and her having to show it down.

Another suggestion a GAF member made, was that Korra should have gotten beat by Kuvira first, then she takes off to re-gain herself with her training. I dunno.

How can you feel bad after Dexter was such a deadbeat father. All those monologues going on and on about Harrison, and how he's his everything. lol and he's never there for him. This scene was great, and really capitalized on how shitty of a parent he is. Was one of the few things the show unintentionally did right. looool

You really should stop being a junior breh. You earned your wings.

Dexter's IQ dropped so hard after getting some of that Hannah McKay pussy. I mean he stayed intelligent after Rita and Lilah, but that super blonde must have blown his fucking synapses. "I can't parent now because 'Hannah Mckay.'"
Edit: Regarding Dexter as a dad. He was a better dad to kids that weren't even his. Harrison was just like an after thought to him. He wasn't half the dad that Harry was. Show spent so much time trashing Harry as a dad, but didn't say anything about the poor ass job that Dexter himself was doing. He didn't even seem to offer Harrison any type of advice.

The end of dexter:

Getting laid solves psychopathy disorder. Get some sex, lose the urge to kill. If that was the case, Dexter could have been wrapped up with him just jerking one out before he has the urge to kill in Season 1.

I do say, it's quite pedestrian.

While it's true the ending of the series weighs on this season, criticism of how the plot is playing along isn't tied to that. You can watch this season NOT reflecting on this being the end, and still think the season is moving along at a bad pace.

So not really sure what your point is. This show doesn't have good enough character development to work with slow pacing IMO. Anyways, I can still give the show credit where credit is due. I do think each episode has been good in its own right. But that doesn't mean I have to love the main overall plot it's trying to tell (or how it's trying to tell it).

So you agree the episodes are enjoyable. But you feel the season is suffering from the slower pace.

I disagree. I feel like if this season had a much faster paced, it would feel like they were rushing towards the end.

I love Korra Alone. And I love her time at the Swamp with Toph. To you, it's slowing down the plot.

But Korra's struggle is the plot. Kuvira is just another means to that end.

And besides, we still have like 3 hours left. Things can go crazy in the final hour. And when it does, it will feel earned and not like it rushed there.

We have 5 episodes left. So that's actually 100 minutes. A little over an hour and a half.

I'd like to believe that it's not that simple. Guy did seem to have a fixation with fucking women that looked like his mom, minus Lilah...whom was just damn (my favorite). Whatever it was they should've thought it out better, but after season 3 the concept of thought slowly started leaving the building and on season 8 thought just dove the fuck out of a window.

Alright finished the episode...

Yes it was weak, and thanks to the tweets, and Bryke's Tumblr post, I didnt have my hopes high anyway, so I aint mad lol

Can't deny it made me laugh tho, and loved how Bryke joked about how everybody hates Unalaq, and how Mako is a fuck up when it comes to serious relationships lol
