I'm really liking Shulk. The combination of buster and smash really seems to make a difference, and his counter lasts a long time. Not sure if shield, jump, or speed really matter that much though.

Anybody good with him? Got any tips?

I'm actually really digging the amiibo stuff. My level 50 Samus is serious, and it really doesn't feel like fighting a CPU when fighting her. I've made a little monster.

But I really wish it was implemented more throughout. I was expecting to be able to use them as partners in co-op modes and such. Kind of sucks that really all they can be used for is standard Smash.

But I just picked up Link and DK today, so whatever, it's workin.

Yeah, if I have any one hope for a Smash patch, it's letting you use your amiibos in other modes.

Oh man I depend alot on shield stance, that's probably because I suck haha

The manual seems to say Luigi's side special has a chance of fucking up. is that true? seems like no one would ever use him competitively if that's true.

Well I haven't played online yet. Only with friends, and we're all around the same skill level, so having extra defense/less speed doesn't really help when playing with them. Who knows, I might need it online.

Think I'm just gonna rock Peach in every competitive match until I get sick of her. Switching to other characters only throws me off.

I saw a tip that said it has like a 1 in 10 chance of being extremely powerful or something.

speed is good for the start to build up damage. jump is great for chasing off stage.

anyone else have this weird issue where the intro movie is really choppy whenever they boot up the game? i've also been noticing significant framerate drops whenever i destroy wario's bike.

if it helps, i have the digital version

Can anyone give me general pointers and tips for this game?

My last major Smash game was Melee, where I main'd Falco. I was quite good. I played Brawl on launch day and stopped playing when I found out Falco was....very unlike his Melee counterpart. Unfortunately the Falco in this game is the same way. Heavy, and slow.

I don't have a main anymore, and I'm getting my ass whooped online. I think I'm 1-10. How differently should I be playing this game as opposed to Melee? I don't think I'm much accustomed to the "slowness" of this game. Diddy seems to be pretty quick, but people are just walking circles around me online.

I'm also having trouble beating ONE level 9 CPU in this game, when I had no problem taking on 3 level 9's at a time in Melee. Guess I'm really just out of practice, huh?

Bro are you me?

Falco being like his shitty Brawl counterpart has reduced my hype for this game big time.

Is there no way to customize your controls for smash tour? I'm trying to unlock the stage and I can't seem to find a way to use my own controls..

I use Shield when I get into high percentages. But primarily I'll start with Buster then finish with Smash. Also as stated above Jump is great for off-stage.

Great games, man! You're always one of my favorite people to play with here and this session showed why; you really kept me on my toes through all of that. Do you not use WFT anymore?

Anyone having issues with controller drift? I'm using the GC controller and it has been great, but I just tried to play and I've got a slight tilt to the right.

I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, it didn't fix it. I tried restarting the game, now luck. The controller is the new smash bundle controller, so it's not wear and tear from use.

I just got my Wii U Pro Controller in the mail. Can I just say this is the most comfy controller I've held this generation. I thought the XB1 was good but this takes the cake. If it had analog triggers it's be perfection, but for the games I play it is as close to perfection as it needs to be.

Good games! I feel the same lol. I had to really think about how I was approaching against you. Ah, I don't use her that much anymore because I don't like her default special moveset so I can't really practice with her on For Glory. : x

I'd take Marge (my Samus lol) as a co-op partner over half of my friends anyday at this point. Definitely a missed opportunity and I hope to see it too.

Bout to have lvl 1 DK and lvl 1 Link duke it out, this is gonna be great.

Ah, gotcha. Well, hit me up anytime. Your ZSS was starting to get the better of me towards the end there, so I'd love to play again soon.

I love being on the ledge with WFT. Her ball hits at the perfect angle. Really, I just think they should make the custom side B you use her default. The current one is hard to use properly.

I think it stands as the most under rated console controller. I love it when I use it. Nintendo knows how to make a good controller.

The AI is better. Try Captain Falcon or Mario for a pretty easy transition from Melee/64.

to gamecube controller people -- do you guys ever use the C stick?

I've found it's not always easy to get there fast enough, but at the same time sometimes I flub my direction+A smash in clinch moments.

should I just "get better" or is C stick a valid option?

I use the C-stick constantly for quick smashes.

This is the first time I've ever used the Gamecube controller honestly, and I'm finding it easier to play this game using the GC controller than the Pro Controller. It might be because I freaking hate how the Pro controller has the 2nd analog stick above the buttons.

I'd be happy with that. Yeah, the default one just goes over most characters unless you delay it and it doesn't hit very hard.

So far, the general consensus is

1. Wii Fit Trainer
2. Olimar
3. Donkey Kong
4. Falco
5. Metaknight
