I'm surprised that people hate on Iris, when Joe and Barry could easily solve this just by telling her the secret. There's no reason for her *not* to know.

I don't dislike Iris, she's just kind of there. I'm just hoping they include all of her year 3000 back story but I kind of doubt they will.

Probably too far out for TV, but with that as well.

I don't hate Iris, but I think the romance between Barry and Iris is just... not great.

Barry and Felicity or Barry and Caitlin have way more chemistry. There's no heat between Barry and Iris. In fact, the idea of heat is a distant galaxy away from what we get.

It honestly literally feels like a brother/sister relationship and Barry wants to commit incest.

Dude, so much this. I don't know if they really thought through what making Iris his adopted sister would do to their dynamic, but it makes things really uncomfortable and weird. Also strange to me that Joe doesn't say more to discourage it when he acknowledges that he knows about Barry's feelings for her. I cannot invest in the idea of Barry and Iris as a couple because I just keep thinking about how they've been siblings for decades. That just creeps me out. Arrowverse Barry should just end up with Felicity. They're adorable together and the thought of it doesn't make my skin crawl. Plus that and Barry seems to constantly convince Felicity to wear her slinkiest dresses. I'm all for that.

Uh, you've clearly never read the comics have you?

Comics aren;t canon for tv shows. For on thing..comics are stuck on endless repeats. TV has to constantly change, which also means new romance. At most a hero can end up with his one true love at the very end of the show.
Second, if something won't work tv show wil throw it out.

She has zero redeeming qualities.

"Please stop posting about me"
"But mah blaaag!"

"Your life could be in danger!"
"Whatever! People need to knoooow!"

"I beg you to stop posting. It messes with my head, just when I was about to get over my mom's death. Please, do it for me. For us and our friendship."
"But but but! Mah blaaaaag and people need to knooow and they need hope and fuck you, my blaaag!"
But she was doing it for Barry....

Yeah, they've spent most of their lives being raised as brother and sister so a romantic relationship just seems iffy.

I think they tried to make the fact that Barry and Iris were friends before he moved in with Joe their "out" on that and we don't know when Barry moved away but I think its safe to assume they lived together under the same roof for at least six years. The fact that they haven't made a single mention of Iris's mother and have apparently written off Iris's siblings also bothers me. It would've been better if Iris primarily lived with her mom which given Joe's job probably would've been a good choice, well unless she's dead.

Of course I'm half expecting them to have Barry go back and save his mother and things will be altered significantly with an arc that will deal with it, though it won't go full on the Flashpoint route.

Yo, I wanna see the correlation between Iris haters and people currently in the friendzone.

That hate is just too real and personal.

Seriously. It feels like half the reason people hate her is she doesn't notice he's feeling her. Which, I mean, can you really blame her for not thinking the guy whose basically her adoptive brother wants to bone her? Most people don't think their siblings want to bone them...because that's gross.

Barry has clearly never seen her that way and from the look of things, he's had a crush on her since before his mother died and he moved in with them. But still, they made a mistake by having them live together from basically age 11 or 12 to at least 18. It's a bit more complex and I don't think Joe adopted Barry, it was just a legal guardianship.

Have we even seen where Barry lives yet? Does he live at the police station or something?

I assume he had his own apartment or lived at STAR labs.

New episode today:
Season 1: episode 7 "Power Outage"

The Flash goes up against Farooq aka Blackout, a metahuman who can harness electricity. During their battle, Farooq zaps The Flash and siphons all his electricity, leaving The Flash without his speed. Meanwhile, Tockman manages a coup inside the Central City police department and takes several people hostage, including Joe and Iris.

She just doesn't have much romantic chemistry with Barry. He should just cut his losses and get with Caitlin.

Loved the dude from your avatar in Vampire Prosecutor.

Re:
Thawne Zoom
theory

From 1/14 casting announcement:

Cosnett plays star Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret.

I'm thinking it's a swerve and Wells is his descendant.

Det. West's actor did a fantastic job with that last episode. Dude looked legitimately terrified.

Jesse L Martin is wonderful. His face is so damn expressive whether his character is angry, sad, scared, delighted, or whatever. Gustin is pretty good as Barry, but I shudder to think what the show would be like without Martin or Tom Cavanaugh as Wells.

Writers must know they hit a gold mine in terms of supporting cast with those two. Only reason why I can't see either vanishing as series regulars.

Well that confirms that Wells isn't Reverse Flash. Makes the stingers less exciting/
he could still be. Another one or the same on to a different time or the same one from a different universe. Time Travel plus Multiverse gives us SO many options.

This flashback reminds me... Barry was in a coma, but what's every other metahuman's excuse for not debuting in the meantime?

Dammit, my Suddenlink is screwing up big time on CW. Think I'm going to have to catch it on Hulu instead. Just constant tearing.
