Good games, Namikaze! Sorry I wasn't much of a match for you. Also, I apologize for the lagginess at the end there. Probably my end. The girlfriend started watching Netflix in the other room, eating our internet.

Gotta run for dinner! I'll buff up and play you another time! :)

Good fights! I felt I was able to get used to your Diddy, especially with Samus' priority, but your Wario was really hard to predict. There was some lag starting to pop up towards the end, though.

What do you mean not much of a match? You did great. I couldn't get around your Link, especially with Lucario. Link is probably one of my weak points in this game, so you picked good xD Maybe once I can learn Samus more I can get rid of that fault of mine.

Any love for ROB? I just played him in a few matches and really like him. He seemed a lot different than in Brawl but I haven't played that game in ages.

For glory just seems to get laggier the longer i play with one person what gives?

Yeah, this is pretty crap. Everyone talking about flawless online. Just got the game a few hours ago.

Every room I play I'm one second or so behind. Every other game besides Smash works for me where more precision is required.

Got a 20 minute ban because I kept quitting.

Gonna try an adapter. If this doesn't work, I'm selling the game.

So far, the game is a disappointment. They didn't even bother updating the older stages, they look like crap too.

I assume it has to do with the connection between the two of you, and whatever factors are involved. I had lag in some games, and then I played literally 3 hours in a row last night with the same person and it was great.

Probably, I mean sometimes i feel like people are playing atleast a second ahead of me.. maybe its my tv? idk.. Just overrall it be kinda weird. I press a jump button and nothing happens maybe its the delay in the game but im legit confused

I had the same kind of thing but less drastic. Thing number one to try is do an offline match against the CPU. I was using Megaman and pressing shield to test. I think shield should be almost instant when you tap the button.

Try pressing and releasing a few times. See if it feels instant on your TV, then try it while looking at the gamepad instead (tap the screen to show the game on the gamepad). Does it feel better on the gamepad? If so then your TV is lagging and you might need to look for a "game" mode.

It might be your internet. Theres no way that many lobbies are bad for you.

So is there a way to drop a controller in Smash mode without having to back in and out? I tried to do a quick match after a shameful loss against Dark Pit for the unlock, and decided to tap my amiibo in as an opponent. However, this apparently triggered the gamepad too, and I couldn't figure out a way to turn it off so I could have a one on one without backing out. Not a huge deal, but annoying and something I have to imagine must be in there some way, because it would be silly if it wasn't.
Can't you just turn off the player slot? Smash doesn't care about how many controllers are active, just how many are assigned to a player slot. I don't have the Wii U version yet, but the same way as you add a CPU, you can remove a player in every other Smash game, so I doubt that's gone.

There's no way that isn't your own connection or jitter in your wifi. That's just way too many issues and far too consistently for it to be your opponents.

What's up with people squeaking by a victory and then leaving? I try to do it Best of 3 unless its real good then I try to extend it.

Did you enjoy the matchup ending with a loss for you? If not, then maybe they felt the same way. :P

Or maybe they were tired of playing you, or maybe the baby woke up, or maybe the stove was on fire, or maybe it was bedtime/dinnertime, or maybe the wifi glitched out, etc. I feel like there is too little ability for communication to expect people to adhere to a specific set of rules that you prefer.

I tried but it just wouldn't work, far as I could tell. That's why it's so bizarre to me, but maybe I'm somehow missing something.

Really? You don't think that's what Sakurai was going for? The tall, slender woman with high-heels posing in front of a moon? A guy who is friends with the creator of Bayonetta?
