I think you're underselling the flexibility of the game a bit -- Exceed combos in particular let you do some really stupid stuff. Then again, I'm not the kind of person you would want to ask if a game is a good training mode game.

I think AnneIFrank's spot on when it comes to the training mode's lack of options. No input data, no individual move damage, no dummy mode - it's bare bones. I put up with the training modes on SNK's NA PS2 ports on a regular basis, and I can honestly say that Chaos Code's practice mode is only a little bit better than that. But I think there's absolutely stuff to mess around with for almost every character, except for Hikaru, his alt and Kudlak.

Sometimes I wish the characters didn't dress like dweebs, but that's another thing altogether.

Not sure what to think of the English voices I've heard so far. Suffice to say I'm somewhat disappointed that Liam O'Brien isn't voicing Ky like in Overture.

EDIT: Oh and Axl has a british accent.

I don't have issues AA'ing with them either and st.LP is really good against some divekicks, but it's just the damage is lacking for it to really stand out.

Were getting like 20 damage/40 damage for our AA's while most other characters are getting 90~100 for there AA's.

Yeah, the damage is kind of low. I could probably see them changing the damage distribution on st mp so that it's 60+20 instead of 40+40. Buffing the cr HP hitbox would probably be a bit much though given how good her other ones are, as well as her other combo damage potential.

Something to keep in mind is that Elena gets more than just damage off an anti air, it also sets her up for a good mixup opportunity once the opponent lands. It's the same thing with Dudley's st mk; good hitbox and low damage but it puts you in a strong mixup position when you hit it. So there's that at least.

someone please get him this tshirt

The voices are incredibly cringe worthy. So far, slayer is the only one who has a good voice imo. WELP. Guess i'll be setting it to JPN voice.

Also he's only complaining about Diddy because Fox is shit in this game.

Complaining about the wrong thing really.

They should have brought back Fox's shine cancels but make it so you can't use it again for a second after cancelling to prevent the multishining from melee as well as remove the stupid lag on his laser. No idea why they had to completely gut him and Marth as well as a load of other characters.

He's (marginally) better than the likes of Falco but still pretty bad.

gonna laugh hard when Smash 4 replaces Melee at EVO cuz Nintendo sponsering

This was always going to happen. Wouldn't be surprised if Melee was back again next year though, doubt Smash 4 in it's current state is ever going to be hype to watch.
So I've resolved to trade in my Wii U towards a PS4, what's the status of PS3 -> PS4 adapters for arcade sticks?
Get ready to buy a new stick.

since nintendo is new to balance patches i'm afraid they will overreact every time people bitch about some character. look at all the nerfs little mac got.

both games should be at evo since they will likely get a ton of entrants.

It's a learning process but hopefully they'll realize you have to let fighting games breathe for a while before you start patching. If you patch out bugs and glitches that's one thing but full on buffs and nerfs need to be kept in check.

Constantly buying/selling systems never made any sense to me (unless you desperately need the money due to some catastrophe etc.)
