I didn't know there was one. I should probably visit and see if its filled with complaints like mine :)

I hate to see good products spoiled by horrible usability. Linux was hobbled by awful usability for years and only now is it starting to emerge as a viable alternative to Windows and OS X.
 
PlayStation HOME will be down from 08:00 - 02:00 UK time today. Sony will fix some connection issues and remove the public voice chat. No known date for the return of the future has been revealed. No mention of new areas like Red Bull, Uncharted or Far Cry gamespaces.
 
It seems like europeans won't be getting any new features again this week. At least Red Bull Island won't arrive as expected, confirmed by Community Manager, Ted. And the removal of voice chat simply s*cks, now we won't be able to share music. .
 
So, do we think voice chat is being removed while they work out how/if they can moderate it? Or is it responsible for some of the issues that Home is having at the moment?

NO! They should go back to it and WORK ON IT! MAKE IT GOOD! They spent money and resources and people and the service DOES have potential... man up and fix this mess!

so they are taking out voice chat ...the only reason to be in home in it's current form right now is to socialize with others...

and they just made it harder to do that ...

and i've been supporting this thing hard core from day one.
 
it think it would be best to invite people for a voice chat. Just two by two or a conference. I have disabled it after two minutes. Anyway i think it will be back soon with a better solution and you can still chat with your friends anyway. The invite thing would be a real good solution.
 
no the proximity chat feature was cool ... made it seem like a more life like setting, gave an empty space some life, much like how the video trailer screens do.

Home literally IS progressing backwards!

Some journalist really needs to dig into what's been going on with Home's development since it was unveiled. I bet there's an interesting story there..or otherwise, a really sad story of incompetence.
 
I let off an annoyingly high-pitched laughter when I read that they were removing the voice chat, bwahaha. Seriously, such incompetence.
 
There's an option to turn Voice chat off.
They could just expand it by adding Private Chat only as a choice. Don't cut everyone off.
I blame SCEJ.
 
Additionally, as part of version 1.04, the voice chat feature within PlayStation Home will be temporarily suspended.

I have dug deep as you asked a journalist would do... well, the reason is the team of experts brought in by Kaz Hirai to polish and complete HOME's actual implementation and server's set-up... (I'll shorten their names to avoid GAF's detectives from harassing them)...

The major re-working of HOME's infrastructure they started as per Hirai's orders, project P.I.G.E.O.N., apparently hit some major internal roadblocks and in-fighting... apparently over Trophies or Medals...

I wonder what is happening with all the crap that is going on at the moment, to take out voice chat is quite surprising and i just hope that they dont take too long getting it back and actually giving us Europeans the areas that we are having to wait for.

I am very fond of Home though and it has proved to be very fun even when just doing little things. Like the other day i met up with a friend and we started playing chess, than another friend came along to watch. I think he was dressed as a girl as someone came up to him and the conversation went like this:

Random guy: Do you wanna go on a date?
Friend:NO, because i have a fucking life!
Random Guy:.....Your mum!
Me:Damn you got told! :p
:D

I hope that Home gets all the attention it needs as it really could be a huge thing if handled right, like getting lots of game spaces or shops with different brands items.

Exactly ,right now HOME is not good at all, but it has potential.
It CAN BE awesome.

Voice Chat is out ? ... mhhmhm but can you chat with to others within YOUR home.
Like if invite someone to my Home room, i can chat with him ?
 
That interview with the director of home is one of the funniest fucking things I've ever seen. He is trying way way way way too hard to make it sound exciting.

If the home team made that shotgun, then the silencers have probably been "temporarily suspended". I imagine it would probably backfire horribly too..so I don't think we've too much to worry about.

Hmmm not sure, but Ted The Dog says the phone call feature in Home can still be used.
 
I don't think Home is a waste of money and resources. Okay, a waste of money but not of resources. Because of Home we have a bunch of incompetent people not working on other projects. We need to keep supporting Home to prevent these people from going anywhere else.
 
Hmm :| Why do I have to redownload spaces after a version update?

Is the redbull stuff going up today? I am actually interested to see that space.
 
So do we have a place where we keep track of changes and additions?

Theres new clothes, new shoes and sunglasses. More furniture in some categories, and more decorations. Theres a Home rep modeling the clothes in the upstairs of the mall.

Theres several beards.

Theres winter weather and a Xmas tree in the Japan plaza, and a blimp flying around.

The Namco and all other reward items have dissapeared from inventories.

There's new ads everywhere. A lot for the chatpad.

Theres less lag and it loads much faster upfront, and a few seconds faster here and there between spaces.

And it seems we have to redownload some of the spaces...
