Ramlethal bodied me the first time I fought her in arcade mode. The laser beam and the sword with the teleports are cheap.

Yeah I thrashed everything until Ramlethal finally requires you to block and I didn't know how to react to the laser beam and just ate it lol

She was super free when I got that continue though lol

This Xrd training mode is so weird.

You can perform things without them landing/connecting and you still get through the trial, at least with the basic ones.

Like half the trials have you doing the same mundane thing 3 times over and then the text box at the end tells you additional ways to input that or variations but you don't get to practice it.

Otherwise, it's pretty fun. I don't know if it's slowdown or just stylistic, but any time a character is walking or you see a 3D animation of characters' legs, everything gets choppy. Millia's intro most notably. Intentional or not, it' stands out considerably because all the other animations are (relatively) much smoother. Game looks absolutely fantastic in motion otherwise. Some bad textures and low poly stuff in backgrounds here and there, but i suppose part of that is to make sure the characters stand out. Otherwise characters and backgrounds are SUPER sharp and consistent aesthetically. This demo has definitely increased my interest in the final game whereas I was pretty much who cares up until now.

That's first impressions after mashing my way through trials and arcade.
It's low framerate animations, usually around 15fps to give the game an anime feel, looks fine during gameplay, but in scenes with camera angle closing in and moving at 60fps, animation moving at 15fps really stand out. It's really bad in Ky's intro too.

AI is really bad but her supers are broken final boss shit, this one time she used the beam super 3 times in a row while she was at the end of the screen(no jumping behind her), I had full health and still died through chip damage only.

My wife wants me to come to bed, and I want to play more Smash. Solution? Gamepad in the bed. That is called compromise, gentlemen. Take notes. (My wife is awesome)

I've had this scenario with a girlfriend... you know what happen? She toss her cell phone at my head.

Yea..... you are lucky.

Well it wasn't Smash, but video games!

rule 34's never weird

I'm single, btw

you coming on to me?

God this is so awkward.

Ya'll got balls talking about Shouta like that without fearing the "Guest" treatment.

T. Hawk be acting like they even know how to play the game.

Yes, this is excellent.

Yeah uh.. not even 30FPS?

I'm not a stickler for framerate at all, but even the regular cutscene animations were uncomfortable to look at, not just the running or Millia's specifically. Can't even tell you the last game that made me feel like that.

Characters animations run that low during gameplay too(average around 15fps), it's just way more noticeable in cutscenes. Some characters cutscenes does a good job at hiding it(see May's intro), most don't though.

By the way, did anyone run into Bedman in the demo? I played through it more than 10 times, faced everyone except Bedman and the DLC characters.

yea his voice acting is really decent. Love his end quote when he wins

Dunno, just the overall presentation from how the UI looks to how the characters look against various backgrounds. Probably just me but something feels off.

I don't know which videos you've watched specifically, but the PS2/360 version of 98UM does let you choose between 2D and 3D versions of the backgrounds, so you might be able to solve this.
Nah, Satyamdas is the one really beating me into submission over the years. Playing him is why I'm so humble these days ^_^
Actually you get beat up by everybody.

Bit the bullet on lots of irresponsible video game spending just now.

Wish there were better options available to try games before buying when they're on console you don't own. Here's hoping I like KI as much as I want to.
