Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

Ya I've been wanting to buy it for a while now but have been really stingy with my money. I actually feel guilty waiting so long and spending only $4 on it now. Is it still fun on the hardest difficulty or does it become a chore?

The bosses are the worst part, those are a chore because they are a bit too formulaic. It's not too bad on Insane but you have to, well, be very seasoned to deal with it. Mobs hit hard, you die rather quickly (helps to have the healing spell though!) and this game was made by the same guys who did Hard Reset so expect a brutal challenge, though nowhere near as brutal or unbalanced.

Shadow Warrior shows how the devs matured and fixed everything that was horrible in Hard Reset. I could never finish Heroic mode, the Insane mode of Hard Reset was incredibly frustrating and you couldn't start on that mode from the go because the lack of upgrades made the enemies a pain, unlike Shadow Warrior where you chop-chop-chop with the katana!

Try Normal or Hard to get a hang of the melee mechanics and have some mindless fun though! Oh, and kill the bunnies. You'll see what happens ;)

It's not that bad. You have to consider that it's a rather huge game made on a tiny budget.

You should know you just convinced a dude to play a game out of their comfort zone, thanks.

Nay. Super frustrating to navigate the city and actually get things accomplished. The side missions are brilliant and a few of the story levels are ace but it just takes so long to do anything.
I wonder how bad it can really be. I played the demo on the PS4 and thought the game looked decent, the biggest issue I saw was that the animation for silent takedowns was absolutely terrible at times (I think it often glitched). But, perhaps the demo is very misleading and the whole game is a really terrible experience, because I've seen so many "nay" and harsh reviews... go figure. :|

GMG has Evil Within and Wolfenstein even cheaper than Steam (13,43€ here): http://www.greenmangaming.com/green-thursday-vip/
I'm seeing The Evil Within for $14.96 @ GMG/VIP.

Edit: Also, Wolfenstein.
The Evil Within & Wolfenstein: NWO are both $16.10 at Green Man Gaming VIP.

Links are now active.

Edit: Thief $5.85
Holy fucking fuck

I got The Evil Within for $16 and a dime. I actually feel bad right now. It's weird because the game seemingly did very well in terms of sales. Maybe the PC version's fucked up spec requirements, black bars and shitty FOV has really kept people away. Oh well, I'm glad I made out like a bandit. Anyone out there who is still on the fence should pick it up if you've got a GTX 660 or above. My 670+2500k (no OC on either) held a steady 30FPS through nearly the entire demo and load times were great. SSD owners will love it. The bars suck, but this price for a high quality Mikami game just a month after release is downright criminal.

How good is the PC port of Shadows of Mordor? And do you think it'll get a better sale? I don't have enough in my wallet at 33% and I'm skint ATM so can't add more. 50% would be good enough.

The game is great, performance is good.

Lots of random crash.

I saw it for twenty bucks on Amazon, not sure about region restrictions though.

Problem is I'm bone dry right now so I could only get it from Steam as I sold a bunch of CS stickers and skins. I might be able to scrape enough together if the rest of my stuff sells before tomorrow. It's £14 on G2A as well.

Having to click on that gmg vip section for a different price is a little confusing. I can imagine a lot of people buying a game on sale at gmg and being angry when they find out later they could have paid less at the same store by clicking a link.

Hey gents, thinking of buying the Bioshock Infinite season pass for $10. Worth it? I've only played and completed the base game

Isn't the winter sale in like a month? Prices are gonna be largely the same I assume?
It helps to have experience with online sales. In my experience there are always some cases where a game has had better discounts than those in a winter sale (iirc). TEW is probably one of them. No way the game is going to go any lower than $16.10 without a price glitch next month. The same could be said for Wolfenstein.

Fallout: NV seems absurdly cheap. I don't know if I'd like this game but at this price... tempted to just try it and see.

How long do these sales last?

Not sure, they don't say. They say that "new games will be added every day" and that it's a "Sneak Peak for Black Friday" so I'm not sure if these specific games will be still there or gone tomorrow.

Also, I think you need the VIP email that they send out to get the extra 20% off, otherwise they'll just be the darker grey discount prices.

I'm looking at The Evil Within or Wolfenstein TNO for $19 on GET. Help me decide!

So many games!

Titanfall for $5. Hmm.

Already bought Shadow Warrior for $4

Hmm, sucks that it's so unclear. It's called "Green Thursday" so I imagined it was at least for the full day, hopefully.

Oh? That's why I saw $2.50 for F:NV on the site, I thought it was just the Canadian price haha.

It is my favorite game of last gen. It also has an awesome mod scene. :)
Not sure if my PC can run an extremely modded game though (I have a GTX 560, 8 gigs of ram). I can generally run last-gen games at max settings and 60 fps no problem, but newer-gen games are struggling, and, say, Dark Souls II with Gedosato at 3200x1800 falls from 60 to about 25-30 instantly. I don't know how demanding a modded F:NV would be, though.

Borderlands 2 GOTY for $7.79 on GMG is pretty tempting. How does it compare to the Pre-Sequel? And are there any GMG vouchers I should know about before buying?

I can run it on my Alienware Alpha i5/8GB ram and a gtx860m at 1080 high with a great frame rate. :D

what would be the expected price for AC:black flag if it's a daily?

One of my favorites!

ALso, really enjoying these sales. Just bought Borderlands 2, Skyrim, and Dishonored!

it's currently 20$ on amazon. don't know if i should wait, the amazon deal might expire.

If I had to guess, 66% off. Though Ubi might be tight and only go 50% off.

But i'd guess 66%.

EDIT: and if it's not a daily in this sale, it'll likely match the 50% by Christmas. You'll get another shot. So unless you're desperate to play it right now, just wait it out.

Well, I hope the zone gets more comfortable for you ;)

It's my GotY, but I think no one would claim that it has particularly broad appeal.

If you've played it, how does MMXL compare to grimrock 2. Kinda weary of Uplay so I'll maybe wait until the Christmas sales and see if it goes on sale again then think about it.

Until I saw this thread, I didn't even know/remembered about Might & Magic X. Insta-buy at ~$6.

Now for Divinity: Original Sin & Legend of Grimrock II to be dailies.

Too bad there's no flash sales this time around.

Game that looks beautiful at times while drab at others. Fun combat but marred by some serious design issues. The whole modern setting should have been axed, it did nothing for the game. If you're a fan of the genre or really enjoyed LoS1, go for it.

Suffers from the same thing Darksiders 2 did, trying to expand its scope far beyond the team should have based on resources.
