I think the GamePad feels great, of course of the Pro Controller.

I honestly use just the Wii Remote a lot also when playing with family. It's probably not the best "competitive" controller but honestly its the best when playing with friends and family who are fairly "inexperienced" at video games. It's simply the easier controller to use because it has TWO buttons "Attack and Special" and really you can tell them to use B button to "Shield" but honestly new players who are just having fun playing around are not going to worry about shielding and grabbing. They're probably going to have a fun time playing the game on the Wii Remote because of its simplicity.
 
Man I fucking cannot STAND Master and Crazy Hand.

I can beat Classic mode at 7.5 intensity. No problem, master core is easy.

But holy shit fighting Master Hand & Crazy Hand with no Master Core form is INSANE. I cannot beat this fucking shit head. I've lost at the 2.0 intensity just fighting Master Hand because he's a shit head who wrecks me.

Any strategies when fighting Master/Crazy Hand at 5.0 or less? He's a complete cheap ass piece of shit.
 
You only get one good match in For Glory mode before it goes to shit.

Play one - Great
Second one - starts lag spiking
Third one - Connection has gone straight to hell


This has been with almost time I've tried to play with someone more than once. Only remember like once or twice where the connection stayed solid throughout the whole set.
 
Is there anyway to Default to a custom control scheme?

I'm using the wii u pro controller and I rotated the face buttons clockwise by one because it feels more natural to me. Problem is I constantly forget I have to keep selecting my custom profile every time I go to the character select screen.

Shops were indeed selling Smash bros , Pokemon and even Amiibo a day before the release date.
Got myself Smash and limited edition pokemon.
I got really lucky. I went to all the stores and only one store had the GC controller and Gamecube adapter. Store worker said it was the very last GameCube adapter they had...

Is it confirmed that the Wave 2 amiibos are coming out December 14th? Trying to do some Christmas shopping and Im only going to order them now if I can get them before Christmas time.

pretty sure my 7 year old niece is now nearly as good if not better than me at smash.

she first took interest in it when she saw the pikachu amiibo last friday, and I told her pokemon were in the game (she loves pokemon).

she's been an addict ever since. she wants to learn everything, she plays training mode to practice moves (she'll do this for hours if no one stops her). she's leveled up three amiibos to 50 and does 2v2 all the time (her + a amiibo vs. two other amiibos).

she unlocked most the challengers on her own (she beat game and watch and duck hunt on her own most recently) and is already pretty good. I'm not a smash pro by any means, but she can beat me 1v1 a fair amount of time.

I think once she gets a little more confidence she may be interested in going online. she's still a little shy. she mainly plays ganadorf (that's what she calls him), pikachu, charizard, and kirby.
 
I hope this question doesn't sound stupid because his ground game is good and some considered easy to pick up. For those who are good with little mac, what can I do to be good with him? Any good tech?

That's really awesome, thanks for sharing that. Keep encouraging her to build up her confidence!

My niece plays my copy of Brawl all the time now (mostly for Pikachu, too). She's got a lot to learn still, but she loves it. Makes me very proud. :)
 
Ganondorf is such a frustrating character. So many of his moves are godlike (Uair, Fair, Bair, Dtilt), but his mobility makes him a total pain to play. I used to main him...now I'm all about his esteemed son Captain Falcon. Though a part of me still longs for the 'Dorf.
 
Just a heads up for any UK gaffers waiting on an order from Amazon, I noticed my order hasn't been dispatched so contacted support to find out there's been a problem on the suppliers end. It was the copy with the adapter for what it's worth. Check your orders just in case.
 
So, Olimar/Alph was kind of busted on the 3DS version, but I actually think he's pretty good here. Great range on his grab, and forward smash. His aerials have decent range and can autocancel (including his d-air). You can do a ton of damage to someone if your pikmin are latched onto them. You can also cancel the pluck animation into anything. He doesn't really have a hard time KOing either.
