Hmm, I guess that's true. Well, I've been lucky so far with my wave 1 amiibo (Kirby, Fox, Yoshi, Link) - they all look great except for Link, who looks kinda crappy, but his was one of the crappy-looking figures already, so I knew what I was getting with him.
Hopefully my luck continues!
I figured out what my problem is with this version of smash - the momentum changes have completely fucked my spacing game. I whiff so many attacks expecting my character to slide further with them. Also, it seems like the range on many characters has been toned down somewhat. I literally stand there doing smashes that are pixels away from connecting all the goddamn time and it's killing me.
I say this as a Marth/Ike/Toon Link/Captain Falcon player. Running attacks don't carry as far. Smash attacks don't carry and have less range. The momentum changes make the whole game feel more stiff to me.

After grabbing a few select amiibos from wave 1, I think i'll grab marth as my last pick from this wave.
After that, i'm looking to preorder Shulk tomorrow at gamestop. I would recommend you fellow collectors consider doing the same. Shit is going to sell out fast, plus I was told they're getting a limited run once the figures arrive at gamestop stores.
Overall I think next year i'll grab megaman, shulk, lucina, rob, and duck hunt. After that i'm good with amiibos until nintendo decides to let us order custom mii amiibos.

I might be drunk. I looked, I could not find.
So I just played, and won, my first online match but damn, that lag was unbearable. It's a miracle I won, but maybe my opponent had the same problem. Was this just coincidence or might there be a problem connection wise? I'm connected wireless and the router is barely 50cm (two feet?) away from the Wii U.
Would the Wii LAN adapter definitely help? It's actually a bit ridiculous that a 2012 console doesn't have a LAN port, but that's for another thread.

Got the last GC controller adapter in town and I'm done shopping.
I invested 320 in Smash the last three days (I had the console already, only game, pads and Amiibos), you are welcome Nintendo.

Gc adaptor and controller just arrived I was told. At work right now, can't wait
Yea, have my hard drive connected to it.
Should be noted that one of the USB cables in the GC adapter is only used for rumble, so you don't have to connect that.

My USB hub is actually powered through an AC adapter, so my hard drive is connected to it through one cable only.Is it connected to hub via y cable?
Thanks for about the rumble wasn't aware of that.
You should get a powered USB hub cause one port on the Wii U isn't enough to power a hub.
If you don't have one, try and get one that comes with a power cable for the hub itself like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00E0NH9FC/

Me too, me too. I do not even fully understand the controls. Somehow im struggling with basic maneuvers. It is not very intuitive to me.

Yeah, the hub I got is externally powered via ac adaptor so in theory I should be okay.

So I just bought my copy but when I start the game it just shows the Super Smash Bros logo and it doesn't do anything... Ive been waiting for half an hour now. When I reboot it does the same thing. I can't even open the home screen or anything. What luck...

Man, I have about a 20% success rate on matches not being laggy as shit. There was a villager last night that was literally just dodge rolling back and forth, over and over. I couldn't do anything about it because there was a half second (or more) delay on my inputs. It was smooth visually though, which was weird.
Yup, I think I'm done with random online matches.
He complains about no Hawlucha. That is Geno-tier level of patheticness.

Yeah I couldn't shut it down either bar one time where I only stayed on the ground and somehow managed to always side-step in his back for 1-2 normal attacks. And that's a good idea, I recorded some matches too so I would upload them aswell but I sadly have no capture-card :/

I can't believe someone just asked for Mew to be playable character in Smash 4. I can't really see how it would work in battles. Also just remember the game isn't just made for competitively fan bases. Casual might like the things that you dislike.
