Dota 2 - basically my go to game atm
Left 4 Dead 2 - I love this game. Playing versus with a group of friends was a lot of fun, as were the campaign, either the official ones or custom maps. I think it's been a year since I played it. The group of people I used to play it with stopped or fell apart. I almost played it daily 2009-2011.
Dark Souls - Loved this one as well. Played through the game with two characters, beat it with one (my second character). I tried some other characters, but it's not that special anymore. Should get the sequel when it's on sale.
TF2 - Lots of fun. Been a year since I last played it and I uninstalled it. My main classes were pyro and medic, also liked scout/heavy/soldier and sniper. Still don't know how to play spy or demo. The horde mode MvM was a really nice addition, great fun with my L4D2 co-op palls.
Killing Floor - Very good class based co-op horde game. Medic, Sharpshooter and Commando ftw. Haven't played it for a year and I don't think I'll be back.
Mount and Blade: Warband - I only played singleplayer. It's ugly, has awful presentation and no story whatsoever. But that doesn't matter if you can round up some peasant, train to be be (elite) infantry/archers/cavalry and use them to fight bandits, a caravan, other peasants or some annoying noble or king. I love that the game just throws you into the world and goes "just do whatever you want". Shame that the intended end game is tedious, I never managed to beat it.
Civ V - This game is insanely addictive once you start playing it.
Dungeons of Dredmor - Fun roguelike. Lots of experimenting and dying, item/monster descriptions are funny. Nothing better then having an nice build/game, only to be transported to some dimension where the monster kills you in two hits...
XCOM - Should've been higher, I played offline due to the Warspace mod. The classic run I did was great, incredibly tense in the first half.
King's Bounty: Not So Armoured Princess - I don't think I can recommend this to everyone. The meat of the game are the turn (and grid) based battles, but every battle is roughly the same. Adn the design is a bit weird. You start battles by touching enemies on the world map, but each new area has very tough enemies. So basically I was kiting enemies while exploring to find upgrades, only to return for battle later. It took me those 85 hours to beat the game once.
