Fighting Games Weekly | Nov 24-30 | Fighting Geriatrics Community

My complaints with Smash Bros. so far.

1. Pikachu's Thunder and QAC definitely did not need nerfing, I used to love to QAC into the ground and do an instant jump and I can't do that anymore. It was really great for Pika's movement options and I feel less enthusiastic when choosing Pika now. :(

2. Online options need to be improved. I applaud the netcode beyond belief. It is REALLY good. But there should be an option to join a lobby and just spectate a match/rotate with the losing person when it's their turn in a 1v1 setting.

3. This isn't the game's fault but Nintendo needs to provide an in game messaging system where people get an actual notification of a message on their screen while playing. I can't believe they didn't think of this. You have your friend list there and you can send a message but they won't see it and you, likewise, can't setup any online matches. It's frustrating. Have to use this forum to find players.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the game. Would probably score it 9.2 out of 10 right now.
 
QAC makes pikachu the fastest character in the game can't have that now :P


I don't really want to say Thunder is nerfed, I think it's better to say it's properties and use are almost completely different
 
You guys should add Shamrock and Soldnerkei to your friends lists. They have great connections and are crazy good.

It can be DI'd out of, but you can catch people still. It KOs at like 110%.
 
One other thing I forgot to add to my list is training mode options. They definitely could be better. A record function would have been SO useful.

Just tried it. Yeah, it seems like you can escape it at lower percentages but becomes harder to escape at higher percentages.

Don't know if he'll add people but he was really great at defensive play. Got on my nerves lol.
 
Well, now I'm done with everything I had to do for my finals and am finally free to actually play fighting games again instead of just reading about them.

That said, anyone wants to play Smash for a while?

Been missing around in GGxrd's demo tutorial mode a lot, it seems like a better training platform than Smash's training mode, lol.

Not sure what you can do. I looked up the error code and lots of other people had the same one with lots of suggestions on how to fix it. But I dunno what would actually work. :x

the juri matchup is one i have a lot of experience with but i hate how i have to be EXTRA patient with her. i need a wolverine in sf4 that isn't rufus or cammy... i know how to play yun but he's boring

The one time I solved it was by using the internet from my brother's room instead of mine, so it's probably an IP thing. This not being the 3DS however, I can't just easily move and play in the other room, and it's on the opposite end of the house so it wouldn't be the best of ideas using it from here :|

That's just generalizing, dude. From personal experience anime fighter communities are a bit more...expressive with their love and hate for certain characters but nothing too unusual. I think.

I took a gamble online and got a non-derpy, non-impotent Marth.

The Fox amiibo really is fantastic as well.



Anyway if anyone wants to add me my NNID is JoeInky, but I'm not going to be playing for a while.
 
I hate when I know what some of my opponents are doing and acknowledge the mistakes I've made, I don't know how to apply it when I'm playing against them in smash 4.

For me UNIEL music does that. For example Gordeau's and Seth's themes are perfect for that epic confrontation feel. Less this is serious style, but more this is two DBZ grade crazy mofos going at it because it's fun.
