Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

To any LEGO players in here...if you had to recommend just one LEGO game for someone to play solo, which one would it be?

What do? My bank account has already been charged. Do I just wait it out?

Not sure if it is the same as "cancel preorder" which I used before, but you will be penalised for community market and a few other things like trading I think for about 9 days or something

The Prison Architect price somehow screams "we will skip the alpha phase soon and just release it as it is. Buy and forget."
Am I completely wrong?

Cancelling a pending transaction doesn't transfer the funds to your Wallet, which is what triggers the cooldown with self-initiated pre-order cancellations.

Edit: To answer the question: Pending transactions need to be manually approved. If it happened because you tried to purchase something from the store of another region, cancel it, otherwise just wait it out or cancel and retry.

You know, I would probably buy CoD 4 if it was cheap enough, never played a CoD game singleplayer (just free weekend multi from Blops 2 and MW3), but for those prices? fuck it.

Ah, this is what happened to me with Valkyria, but because it was a mix of wallet and bank money. At least now I understand that one, thanks

The adulation that 4 receives has always struck me as rather odd considering it set the template for what followed. That's not to say I don't understand it; I just don't agree with it.

Except it didn't break a lot of things that 5+ on did.

I mean map design and spawn design with Grenadex3/Martyrdom aside, it wasn't as... "BULLSHIT" as later entries in the series. Plus the campaign was actually fun to play the whole way through. Ignoring the "infinite monster closets until you reach an invisible line," anyway.

Shame it's only -25%. It's like Activision can't simply deep-discount the only good CoD past 2 for $5. :/

Well, I didn't say "lol the game sux", I said "I understand why it's held in high(er) regard but I don't agree with it." Infinity Ward didn't throw game design to the wind and say "Well, since the player can't do much, there's no need for us to put much thought into level and encounter design" (in the first mission of Advanced Warfare, you can trigger a fail screen by following a group of soldiers 15 meters in the opposite direction of your target, which is patently ridiculous), but at the end of the day it's still an example of how the FPS genre has regressed as a result of stressing storytelling above player agency.

It's not like I think less of anybody who enjoys CoD for what it is. Hell, I've had quite a lot of fun with Advanced Warfare for the simple fact that it embraces the restrictive nature of the campaign and lets you wreck havoc with, well, advanced weaponry. Laser weapons! Smart grenades! Invulnerable drones! The game has its fair share of "Press A to Awesome" moments, of course (such as jumping from bus to bus while travelling at high speed down a highway), but in general the encounter design is dumb fun.

Then the best course of action is to wait if it goes cheaper on this Sales Dailies, if not it's better to wait for the Winter Sales right? : D

yeah I can't see any way skyrim isn't a daily at some point now or in the winter

probably both now and winter and probably multiple times in the winter between dailies and flash/community

It seems you can't buy VIP deals from GMG using GMG credits. It only forces to buy via credit cards and paypal. Tomb Raider VIP deal is $5.93 while the normal deal is $7.49.

I had 50 cents or so in credit and used it all on the VIP deal (New Vegas came to like $1.50!) so it worked for me.

Thanks!
Then, time to play the waiting game : D (damn it D: !). Meanwhile, I shall get Cosmochoria.

Help me make this decision GAF - I have Witcher 2 waiting for me on my 360.

That was bought when I didn't have a PC. Now I do. Should I double dip? Is there anything wrong with the 360 version or is it fine?

how long has it been sitting there? is there a reason you haven't played it yet? would you be more likely to play it on pc?

Prison Architect is one of the more solid Early Access releases, having been in EA for over two years with frequent updates and new content delivery.

Yeah, I know about all the updates and stuff but a game that is in Alpha for more than two years is still a bit strange. I know that they said in the past "PA is so expensive because we only want people who understand it's an alpha test".
Now it's still in alpha but it's cheap. That seems kinda strange to me.

Black Ops 2 is $20, which is the cheapest I have ever seen it. Do people still play it online?

If you're cool with TDM or the Nuketown/Hijack playlist. You can usually find KC games, but less people play that late at night. I think I might have something to do with that.

Keep in mind that the Digital Deluxe also comes with World at War, so you're getting two CoDs for that price.

I feel like I just stole The Witcher 2 and Fallout New Vegas. 5.50 for both. Yes please.

I think I'm done until the next sale. Picked up the Dead Island Complete Collection, State of Decay, Batman Arkham Origins, The Witcher 2, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim.

awwwwww yeeeeaaaaahh all I wanted out of this sale was Fallout 3 and Fallout Vegas and Dragon Age O.

and now I got them all!!

now I just need to actually play them =P

I forgot to pick up Rome 2 when it was 75% off, are we expecting it to be 75% off again on the final day of the sale?
