Steam "Exploration Sale" -- i.e. Autumn Sale -- now live (November 26 - December 2)

What the literal fuck. Is there ANYTHING you can use GMG credit on nowadays besides full-price games? Fucking hell.

I don't know if I just got lucky, but I bought Arkham Origins using GMG credit without any issue. I was happy to actually be able to use it on something with all of the voucher restrictions.

DO NOT BUY THIEF lol

You missed the sale on Styx which is a much better stealth game but in 3rd person. I was super excited for thief since they talked about it while finishing Deus Ex HR, which was my game of that generation. But so disappointing when it came out.

Question about the Witcher 2. have there been any changes since they did the big one when it came to consoles. Every time I gave that game a chance it just did not feel good at all as an TPP action game or even RPG. I really want to get into it before Wild Hunt if that version is going to be improved but in the mean time does anyone recommend anything or have any tips that would get me to try it again.

mhh looked at Anno 2070 but now i see anno 1404 for a much better price. Played the first Anno and it was good fun at that time. So what to get?

Does one if it use uplay?

Over/under on what the chances are for Wasteland 2 and/or Divinity:OS to be dailies?

We're at the halfway point (more or less). Just wait a few more days.

2070 uses Uplay (and TAGES) but 1404 is completely DRM-free.

Worked for me too. 80 cents felt like a the right price to pay for a b-tier Arkham game.

I've been watching this sale but so far nothing has caught my interest outside of some smaller games that probably won't get any huge discounts (ex YS Origins)

I didn't have a problem using my GMG credit to get Darksiders 2 from the VIP section yesterday

It would actually have been cheaper if I'd used a discount code, but those actually don't work with GMG credit

Rogue Legacy worth $3?

I am really needing to watch my "budget" and am waiting for a $5 or less Morrowind. I think my whole budget I've got for this sale is $10 (skimp on one day's meal).

If not, I'll hold out for Winter sale and hope it'll be at that price again, or lower.

I've got a ridiculous backlog as it is, so idk why I'm even asking.

So far, I picked up Letter Quest and some shitty Pixel Puzzle Zombie game. Letter Quest is awesome but the latter is confusing and I don't like it. I have my eye on many other games but I'm probably going to wait for the Winter sale for a lot of them. I'll have more money then. Teslagrad, Olli Olli come to mind.

I don't think that poster is correct. I bought DmC from the VIP sale yesterday and used my GMG credit to do so.

REVERTING TO DEFCON 5 ALL RAGE SYSTEMS DEACTIVATED

Thanks, duders! Now on to the real question: how much of a waste of $16 is GOD: Ghosts' campaign? Recall that I only narrowly avoided buying MOH: Warfighter for $2.50 from the Origin sale just to play through its campaign. Apparently I need to play at least one mediocre milshooty OSCAR MIKE campaign a year.

I'm scrolling through Steam to see what I missed by not paying attention to new releases and Life of Pixel is on steam. The vita version was great and I'm happy to see it hit steam since I remember the dev ran out of money at some point and seemed depressed on twitter. Definite buy from me this sale

A shame Rex Rocket isn't on sale. I've wanted it ever since the giantbomb quicklook but $10 is cheap so I'll probably grab that too

I've been thinking of this Anno thing. I've done other city builders and I hear these are good, but I don't know how much grounding future technology would have. Does 2070 feel "real" so to speak or like a bunch of meaningless sci-fi bullshit?

I think that would be a pretty big waste. Unless you really like military shooters, you could probably grab three other AAA FPS games for the same price during this sale and have more fun with them.

To be fair, if you're good enough you can beat it at level 1.

It's definitely worth $3.

That is, if you want to spend the time to get good at the ultra-clunky, would-have-been-B-Tier-on-the-Genesis platforming.

Also, the idea of having to slash at enemies 6 or 7 times to kill them at level 1 would be the ultimate test of masochism.

True, although I never really found myself getting all that much better at the game. It felt entirely like it was based on my upgrades. Maybe I was using the upgrades as a crutch? In any case, I put like 30something hours into it and was satisfied when I was done.

Anyway, $3 shouldn't really be a question of worth. If it seems remotely like something you would enjoy, buy it.

Google and GAF told me that anno 1404 is better. And it is 75% cheaper and has no bullshit DRM

So i bought 1404 but i cant give you any impressions (still downloading), can only tell you what i have read on the net.

1404 link http://store.steampowered.com/app/33250/

edit: and i think 1404 even has some nice mods too like I.A.A.M. 1404

Probably totally LTTP on this but how does trading work with the new gift restrictions? Seems like it's gonna be a pain to play it safe now :/

Paid $59.99 for it at launch and I haven't actually been able to play it as it crashes to desktop as soon as I launch it.

;~;

How did you manage to pay that much? The title was deeply discounted even during pre-order periods.
Also there was some severely negative previews coming out at the time.

humble question i made on the fighting games thread too, so people: im trying to get into the fighting games for a long time. i decided to enter with street fighter but i have one last question:

is it worthy getting ultra now on steam or should i wait for christmas?

Hmm, 2070 is $7.49 for me while Dawn of Discovery (1404) here is $5.99, and DOES have that weird DRM. What's going on?

mhh for me it is:

Anno 1404 Gold 3,74€

Anno 2070 Complete Edition 12,49€

And i read two times in this thread that 1404 is DRM free and 2070 not.
