I'm looking at which version of this game to buy. I'm thinking the bundle with the GC adapter partly because it sounds rare as hell and there aren't going to be anymore or something?

If I've never used a GC controller, is it really that much better for smash? Should I just get the standard game?

The pro controller is also great. I'm using it now untill I have time to pick up a GCN controller. It's just that the smash community is used to the GCN controller by now and it's the preferred controller at tournaments. If you've never used a GCN controller for smash it shouldn't matter at all which controller you use.

This Smash Tour makes no sense. How do I win every fight and end up with only 1 character at the end while everyone else has 3? Smash Run is way better.

I'm going to assume you're leaving a ton of details out, because this doesn't happen solely from the above event occurring.

I don't like Smash tour.

The items that you get each turn are neat. I like those.

But the stats ruin it. You can build up your stats and then have them taken away due to bad luck.

And if one player manages to get high stats across the board they are unstoppable during the final battle.

I'm not even going to bother with the challenges that require you to play that mode.

So im reading the 2 music CDs and mewtwo DLC free from the Nintendo page promotion and at first it seems to say you get both (the CDs and Metwto) but in the last two paragraphs it seems is one or the other (If you register between now and the 20th of January the CDs, and if you do from the 21st of January till March, is Mewtwo).

So which one of those it is? Hoping is the first one with the two things included.

Did you read the instructions that come with the mode?

Dude, I am getting all of my trophies and customs just by leaving it running without playing it. Yes, you can do that! Unless you get one of the homerun contests.

some items really shouldn't be active in one player modes. I just got screwed out of the 20 turn challenge because of the damn nintendog trophy. ugh.

Raising amiibos is fun. I'm almost a little proud of the little scamps no longer falling for the obvious. I saved their first fights as replays to have something to compare to, and the difference here 25 levels in is impressive.

At level 5, Link and Peach just stood there across the stage and spammed smashes. Yeah. That didn't work all that well. Took Peach into some fights, showed her the low altitude hover to fair move and showed Link how to use projectiles as Zelda. At level 25, they're dashing, dodging, powershielding, and most importantly, they've developed their own styles.

Link is a zoner, through and through. You wanna fight Link? You have to get through his wall of arrows, bombs, and boomerangs. And if you do, he'll try to grab you. Which is his Achilles heel at the moment since he keeps missing that one.

Peach has learned to ground-float! But after getting hit by Link's arrows enough, she modified her behavior. She now floats at just over arrow height. Clever girl. Seeing her just float in and smack Link with the crown was amusing. Still, Peach needs more offense. She dodges and shields and is a right pain to hit, but she can't dish it out. Link beats her on attrition. His defenses may not be as good as hers, but he just builds up damage slowly and wins like that.

So, I want Link to be better at up close, but keep his ranged offense style, and I need to get Peach some offense. Any ideas on what to try and teach them? What's a good solid damage dealing plan for Peach? Since she's already floating, I'm thinking of spamming down-air at her to show that to her. And Peach Bombers. She used to use those to get in, but she's stopped doing that.

Anyone got tips for Lucario All-Star Hard?
Take as much damage as you are comfortable with and then spam side B. Once it gets uncomfortably high, eat something.

For approach, I found out that he can do this: hop, fair, nair, land, jab combo. No landing lag. Zero. So you get two aerials for a safe approach and it's all pretty short and fast. Use ftilt to KO.

Edit: I don't mean intentionally take damage. I mean play him and take damage naturally, and don't get too upset about it. His dash attack is pretty good in FFA.

I'm gonna take a break for a while, good games RadioJoNES! Great MetaKnight (and your ROB is a beast lol), not a lot of people seem to be using him this time around. Play you some other time!

What happens of I die against a locked character? Do I have to repeat the challenge / task to face them again?

You can play any event, match with a computer, match with a friend, etc. I love that they did this for Smash U because in past games you DID have to complete the same event again but not here!!!!

Wait, really?

I did the challenge again because that's how it was in previous Smash games... :(

Thanks guys. Yeah, you're right. I got a lock fight by achieving a certain amount of KO's in a mode. You don't need to do it again - just have a stab at it and quit out. The fight popped back up - I won this time!

So I'm not the greatest fighting game player ever, but I did okay at super turbo, third strike, and sf4. I even played quite a bit of melee.

But I think I went about 2 and 48 for losses in online one on one matches.

I feel that I have absolutely no clue why a certain normal beats another and I am tremendously frustrated at the recovery when trying to do anything in the air. Also the fact that there is no high/low mixup is so strange to me. The only mixup seems to be guard or throw or do nothing.

How does this game even fucking work or is it just totally random and im trying to over think it looking for weaknesses and reads in online play?
