Jojo is great, yeah. I've been less enthused by part 3 and the devolution into monster (tarrot) of the week following the more structured part 2, but the characters are engaging and the pacing excellent. It's accessible even to those who would find, say, KLK bad.

All the openings are amazing lol

Can't wait to hear the new OP for Stardust Crusaders and whatever they pick for part 4.
I just got up to Part 2. I'm going to assume Joseph gets a different OP than his grandad, can't wait for that one. It took a bit to get into the first one, but once I did I stopped skipping it. They don't sing OP's like that anymore.

Prepare to watch what is considered to be in the top 3 JoJo parts next to part 4 and Part 7.

Joseph = Best JoJo

Also this is pretty much JoJo's in a nut shell

Would like to see some Korra/JoJo art lol

You know, the Avatar Series could really benefit from an anthology of some sort. Maybe change it up, I would have rather seen that after ATLA

Yeah, no fuck this so much.

Tired of people trying to make criticisms invalid by ignoring context. If you don't have any issue with the show, that's great. But not everyone that has issues with it are doing it just to complain, or are being unreasonable in their criticisms. Jesus Christ. Always seems to be the same 2-3 posters that pull this shit too. Drive by posts complaining about people in this thread complaining.

I don't even care anymore, because I don't have the patience. Will be my last post in this thread. So yeah fuck this. Go stick your head in the sand and continue thinking this is god's gift to animation.

Aw man :( Just put them on your ignore list haha.

when all is said and done, and everyone realizes that bolin was the star and best character of this show, i will be vindicated.

With the events of this season thus far, he is well on his way.

I can't believe I just typed that.

Tbh, in the last episode I was sorta waiting on him to go off on Opal, but I suppose that wouldn't be Bolin.

Bolin really needs to go off on her tbh

At first I read that sentence in the completely wrong way. Bolin should assert himself a little bit more to be honest. You're a lava bender show some backbone, what would Ghazan do?

Seriously. She was downright manipulative in that last episode. Guilt-tripping him into joining her anti-Airbender philosophy suicide mission.

Chariot you are redeemed in my eyes.

Kill himself in lava?
"I was already in an abusive relationship with Eska and I'm not going back into another one!"

This show is showing that it can't handle relationships. the best thing for Kai and Jinora is to stay off screen.

Eh. He's not entitled to forgiveness, and if she wants to hold his stupidity over his head, she kind of has the right to.

And it wasn't so much guilty tripping him into it. He outright said he was going to do anything to make it up to her. He offered, so she took him up on it. And we don't even know what they're going to do, but if Toph's there, chances are they'll succeed. In any case, he could have said no.

So yeah, not seeing what Opal is being guilty of here. Some vindictiveness? I guess, but I'd say she's allowed that, even if it's not entirely polite.

She fails to realize that her mom getting captured was mostly her own fault. It could have been avoided if she didn't act like an idiot. Whenever it was brought up that it was all Bolin's fault it just made Opal seem worse to me. She can't accept that her mom did anything wrong. The only thing I can really fault Bolin for was not listening to his friends' warnings.... And even thats a "not really." I don't really blame Bolin all that much for disagreeing with Mako after the Coronation. The only time I could blame him is for not listening to Opal during the family confrontation.... But he did and it eventually led to him leaving Kuvira's side.

Assuming that she does accept that it was her mom's mistake, what is it exactly you think she's going to say?

"Oh, she's not there because of malice on part of Kuvira, but of her own bad judgement? Nevermind, I'm okay with letting her, my mother, the woman who loved and raised me, get tortured and killed. Fuck the bitch, trying to underhandedly kill Earth Hitler. Who does she think she is? Does she have no concept of honor? Pfft. I wish I was there, so I could drive the knife in her heart myself."

She probably doesn't talk about her mom's failed assassination attempt on Kuvira being bad because she doesn't care. Even if she thinks it was wrong, the priority in her mind is that the mom is captured by the enemy. You really think she gives a shit if Suyin is in that situation because of her own actions or not when she thinks she might be getting tortured?

She's not mad at bolin for getting her mom captured, but for not siding with her against Kuvira, when she told him for 2 years straight that she was bad news. And now, both Bolin and Opal know about the concentration camps and confirm that, yes, regardless of her mom's actions, Kuvira is fucking evil and they were right. The fact that she isn't hanging a giant neon sign written out as "I told you so" in the city square is remarkable restraint on her part. That he left Kuvira at all is a good sign, but that's still two years not leaving her...honestly, it's a wonder she didn't dump him way before this. And while it's true that Bolin had reason to believe Kuvira was doing good, it's not like he's fucking saying that, because he's an idiot.

Did Opal know about the concentration camps and all that beforehand (I'm talking in the first few episodes)? Or was she just mad at Kuvira for leaving Zaofu in the manner that she did?

Who do you use now?

Link. I know he's not the best and wasn't expecting to be winning a lot of battles with him, but man I didn't think I would be getting my ass whooped that hard. He's slow as hell and it takes a pretty skilled fighter to be good with him competitively. I switched to Little Mac/Captain Falcon and still getting my ass kicked, but doing A LOT better than before. They're both powerful and easy to use for noobs, but I still have to get better at using my shield and predicting the opponent's next move.

Opal from Ep 5:

"They might have been happy when you first arrived, but I've seen what happens after you leave. Citizens are forced to work as slave labor, dissenters are sent off to who-knows-where!"

Looks like she might have not known about the concentration camps in particular, but felt something was off in that regards.

I wasn't even particularly talking about Opal forgiving Bolin in that post. Also, Opal only saw Bolin on two occasions while he was working for Kuvira. She wasn't telling him for 2 years straight. It's not as simple as them just being right. In Mako's case, it's not like he had an entirely convincing stance, especially considering he works for an idiot himself. They we're right, but it's not something you can completely blame Bolin for, and it's not something that they should entirely hold against him. All of the other characters understood that, except Opal.

I'm assuming not, since it's not public knowledge or she would have used it as an argument for Bolin. Atleast that would be the logical step, but you never know with LoK characters...

But I think you are missing the point. Her mother could be being fucking tortured. She even said it. While that brings into question what evidence she had for Kuvira's treachery before her mom was captured, it doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter if it's not a logically coherent argument, it doesn't matter if it's irrational, because her mother could be being tortured and grief has a tendency to twist you into a desperate and touchy person. It's not about rational arguments, it's about just basic empathy.

Bolin is here and asking for forgiveness after two years of failed arguments and drama that proved her to be right in the end. In her situation, I would say 'fuck off' too, whether or not I had good reason to think so at the time. Because I'd be anxious that my mother is being tortured.

Didn't they correspond in letters and stuff? I'm pretty sure I heard that mentioned. I mean, what kind of relationship maintains itself for two years of absolutely zero contact?

Either way, doesn't matter if you can rationally blame Bolin or not. The point I'm making is that she is grieving. Asking her to be rational at a time like this is like asking you to juggle when you have a BAC level of .22. It just isn't going to happen and it's not her fault.

Yeah I totally get your point. I was just wondering if Opal's initial animosity towards Kuvira was because of her leaving Zaofu in the manner she did, or her Hitler-ness, or both.

Honestly, if I had to call it, neither. Or the way she left Zaofu, but not the leaving itself so much as how it screwed over Suyin. I think she's just siding with her mother. Suyin is a super star in the Avatar world that not even anyone in TLA reached. I would imagine a lot of hero worship goes on in Opal's mind, and if she says Kuvira is bad news, then it must be so. She never interacted with Kuvira in season 3, and she doesn't bring up any memory of her. She probably didn't know the Hitlerness of her. Honestly, I probably wouldn't be surprised if she just knew her as "that girl mom trains for metal ballet". And I don't even know how involved she is with Zaofu politics, but I doubt it, since she's an airbender and all. She's probably just mad she screwed over her mom, if I had to guess anything based on what we've been shown.

Opal grieving and streased out and taking it out on Bolin is honestly pretty common in a relationship. What bothers me is that a normal human being could have at least attempted to defend himself. But the writers insist to make Bolin into an idiot when it's convenient for comedy or drama and it's stressful because he really was a character that could have been Sokka but more relevant and badass. Instead we have a character who never reached the heights of awesome of sokka character wise. But admittedly lava bending is awesome so he's relevant. And i say this with Bolin being my favorite character. The writers butchered potential.

Bah. Sokka was as relevant as anyone. His nonbendingness pretty much never held him back, except one episode, and Katara stated no one thought of him that way (Well, except Toph, but I think she was just messing with him. At that point, he had saved her ass plenty of times. Edit: Nope, just checked. Even Toph recognized Sokka's contributions at that point. I know she made remarks of that kind early on when she didn't know him, but she turned around on that quick). The whole sword thing was more of a way of dealing with his own insecurity rather than an actual weakness

But yes, the scene would play out much better if Bolin wasn't an asshat.
