Knocked out!
That lightsaber blew his mind!
Never understood how LucasFilm was advertised as some CG magicians. Their CG didn't even look good for the 90s or early 00s.
Even a mid-tier budget movie like Starship Troppers has better and timeless CG effects than everything in the Star Wars prequels and special editions.
Yup that is lucas all right. I couldn't stop laughing at all the tie fighters on screen or even the extended lightsabers.
The whole special editions made no sense it removed everything what made the original great but Lucas didn't stop there he also did it again on blu ray. I want a re release of the originals i will buy them another thing i avoided buying the whole box of the blu ray because like i said Lucas fucked it up those where not the movies i grew up with.
I'm sure most of us didn't look much different than the six-week old when we watched the trailer.
I don't know how anyone could be excited after the prequels. Hell I was a little kid when I watched Phantom Menace and I still knew the movie was shit (though I enjoyed the effects at the time).
The scene where the Sand People are about to take Luke at the start of A New Hope and R2D2 is hiding behind some rocks. In the special edition they added more rock to hide him more.

Boyega is going to kill it in this movie. He'll be a massive star after this.
They're all going to be stars. Ripley's a sure-fire entry in all 'top 100 sexy' lists in the coming years. Driver I'm not so sure about, he is really great, but he's odd looking, not a likely candidate for a leading man.Hopefully a bigger star than Hayden Christensen became.
How the fuck did R2-D2 even get in that gap in the bottom pic? Did someone throw him in?

This is a very good point. And how did he get out? I haven't watched the SE in years.

Because JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan had nothing to do with the prequels. And this is a sequel to Return of the Jedi. Prequels have nothing to do with this film. You really don't see how anyone can be excited for this film? I mean it is pretty much the most hyped movie of the past 10 years, easily.

People are better off looking to Abrams' Star Treks for an indication of quality rather than the prequels.I was just giving a different view on the matter. They have everything to prove and the audience has every right to expect dogshit out of this movie. Luckily the aesthetics seem closer to the original trilogy than the prequels.

The thing is, despite being the father of the series, Lucas had evolved into being seen as the vicious gatekeeper, randomly tormenting people who worshiped him. The end of his reign of power is just innately a fresh slate and invigorating in terms of hope for the franchise.
obviously.
Amazing.
Lucas knows the score. Why wouldn't you throw a thousand fighters at one ship trying to escape?
Yeah it kinda drove me nuts when people were pissed at Disney announcing sequels. As if Disney is terrible at acquisitions like Pixar and Marvel, made awful Star Wars prequels, and Abrams is a monster despite his super well-received Star Trek revivals.Because JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan had nothing to do with the prequels. And this is a sequel to Return of the Jedi. Prequels have nothing to do with this film. You really don't see how anyone can be excited for this film? I have no idea what you're getting at. My post was in response to the guy who was complaining that the cast isn't diverse enough, when Abrams and company have done an amazing job of making the cast more diverse than 95% of blockbusters. I was satirizing people who make totally unreasonable demands and are never willing to compliment progress if it's anything less than 100% perfect. I wasn't scoffing at the very idea of gay or transgender actors, or something. What any of this has to do with a tantrum, I have no idea.
The proper response to the cast of Force Awakens is to say "hey, it's great that the case is so diverse and that we've made so much progress. Hopefully in the future, we can do even better." Not "fuck you J.J. for making the main character black instead of middle eastern!" which is literally what that poster opened with.
Fuck you, George Lucas. Unedited original trilogy is a must to undo the stupidity GL injected.
I'm hoping that Disney Remasters the originals, touches up a few of the things that needed some help, and then call it a day and declare those versions cannon.
I expect this to release in November of 2015.
What are the chances they'll get the rights to do it before Episode VII?
Hilarious trailer version "George Lucas| just for laughs.MESA BACK

On the one hand, they've got a year, thought next summer would be the best time to release the original versions. On the other hand, they've had a couple of years now to get things rolling and we haven't heard that to be the case at all.Slim I'd think.
What kind of robot is R2D2 anyway? What's his purpose?
They'd be silly not to. Disney will own all of them bar IV from 2020, so what's Fox going to do? Only release solo copies of A New Hope forever?I hope Disney and Fox can cooperate on Star Wars (easy money for both sides?) but it hasn't been good on the Marvel side (Disney cancelling various X-Men and F4 stuff as a result).
John Williams is composing this? Kudos to the man if so, he must be in his mid 80s by now.
you are WAAAY off.I fully expect the original three films to be available on Blu-ray by the end of next year. FOX isn't going to refuse to distribute them.
My real hope is that Disney and Lucasfilm quietly place all the "Episode" movies into a separate Star Wars canon... like this:
CANON A
Star Wars
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
CANON B (The George Lucas Canon)
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (Special Edition)
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (Special Edition)
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (Special Edition)
I think you're both right, just talking about it differently.you are WAAAY off.
Lucasfilm determines this not Disney first of all. second they put out a press release about canon a few months ago. All 6 movies are canon as well as the clone wars animated series and the new rebels animated series.
Yes TFA is going to be distanced form prequels for a lot of the marketing aspects but there is one canon in star wars and the prequels are part of it. Prequels officially take place prior to TFA in the film series. They will never be removed from the canon.I think you're both right, just talking about it differently.
I think Disney know that the prequel trilogy is hated by many people, and for those people, they want to distance those films, and target TFA as the fourth Star Wars film, with a world and tone consistent with the ones they love. At the same time, they want to target it at people who liked the prequels, and children that like the TV show.
It won't be formally isolated canons, but the theatrical cuts should, and I imagine will, be marketed to the original fans as the only Star Wars material that matters, with the exception of the new films coming.
I hope there are a plethora of connections to the prequels just out of spite.
Yep!Doesn't the scene with the rolling droid have Pod Race engines in the background?

Same here. Also flood the film with references to Clone Wars so that 90% of viewers are completely lost.I hope there are a plethora of connections to the prequels just out of spite.
