He hosted the Interactive Arts Awards (now known as the D.I.C.E. Awards) in 2013. He did okay-ish. He replaced the longtime host Jay Mohr, who was always was fairly solid. This year was hosted by Freddie Wong and Felicia Day and even they fell flat at places. I think the writing/producers are to blame. It doesn't go to cringe-worth levels as the Spike stuff, as they have to cater to the network execs and advertisers, which is why they always had "popular" artists perform. I'm glad Geoff is able to do his own thing free of those strings.

Things to keep in mind for the insiders hyping up multiple megatons: shit can and will change at the "last minute." I very much doubt they unleash everything but can only hope. :)

There will be tears next Saturday, that much I can guarantee.
 
I'm not expecting any megatons. If there ARE any, these will basically be in the form of a reveal teaser with no footage, but ending on "come to E3 and we'll shit on your face and burn your dog". Happy to be proved wrong with reveal after reveal.

I say with 2 exclusives coming off Capcom in practically the first two years of PS4's lifecycle - the man has done his job hooking Sony up :)

Not to mention all the indies on board. This has been huge. Obviously you need a team to get these things done but I am sure the new boss has a lot to do with it.
 
Aw man Boyes drops by at the low traffic times for the thread, I'm sure that was intentional to prevent an onslaught of rabid fans from PM'ing you (which will probably happen anyway after the fact). Good luck with the show!

Nope, not intentional... just been trolling and figured I'd check while I try to finish Far Cry 4. Thread does not disappoint.

We're going to have a lot of fun next weekend. Some new announcements, lots of playable games, some great panels - how many of you Gaffers will I be seeing there anyway?

I dont know if the story is true, but i think Rockstar had a deal with sony in the last gen. GTA 4 was planned to be a exclusive Game for Ps3 (or timed exclusive) - then MS interfered and offered a huge load of money -> Rockstar broke the deal with sony and made GTA 4 a multiplattformgame.
As compensation they gave Sony Agent.

errrmahgawd It's Boyes. A bit off topic (if you're still reading through this), but have you met any of the PS MVP's yet? I know Shu met them at E3, but unsure if you came across them yet.
