Playstation TV Thread: Vita Who?

Urgh. Seems Akiba's Trip EU doesnt work on PS TV. I have bought the vita version as its whitelisted, and wanted to 'contribute' for more niche games coming to the platform, but there is no way to make it run... if I knew this was going to happen Id have bought the ps3 version instead.

Are you sure you weren't looking at a US or JP compatibility list?

Say a PSP game has the ability to allow 4 PSP owners to play a game co-op, can this be achieved with the PSTV using 4 PS3 controllers for example?

No.

You need to buy 4 PSPs and games to do that.

Music Unlimited seriously isn't supported on Vita TV? WTF?

I subbed to it this week so I could have music in my living room, (Vita TV) den, (PS3) and office. (PS4) I got it going in my living room with remote play, but not having Music Unlimited on Vita TV seems like a huge oversight.

They advertised that this app worked.....

I... don't know any longer. Now that you say it, i was using this url:
http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9963#Vita
Theoretically it is a compatibility EU list. After all if you click on the PS logo, you're redirected to SONY EU.

However If I go to the EU PS TV advertising page looking after the compatibility list, they redirect me to the old september blog entry, http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014...ease-date-price-full-list-compatible-games-2/
as far as I know is quite dated.

Right now I dont know what to think ._. why do you make these things so complicated SONY... *clenching fist while looking to a random place*

Cool. So which screen would be best to hook it up to? My 1080p 24" monitor or my 1080p 46" HDTV? Does it upscale differently?

Also, is Lumines: Electronic Symphony supported yet?

Hmm. Your monitor will upscale it worse, but the screen is smaller so you may not notice. The TV should upscale nicely from 720p but it is blowing a vita screen up to 46"..

TVs look way better. Depends on the scalers but...TVs basically always have better scalers. I definitely prefer to play the Vita TV on my TV. TV and Monitor are taking up roughly the same amount of my vision due to viewing distance/size

Though 2D stuff looks pretty great. The 720 mostly becomes an issue on no AA 3D games. Which is to say all 3D games on Vita. IMO it's still not that bad, though Wipeout Pure (PSP) is...ow. Vita native games look alright.

I'm thinking of buying this mainly because of the PS4 remote play functionality.

I've read some reviews, but what's the general consensus on it working well when you got both the PS4 and PS TV on a wired network?

My physical copy of Lumines doesn't work. I don't remember it using the touchpads at all. Its a fucking joke.

To above poster: I use a power line network to a 32" 720p TV in a spare room on the other side of the house and its been perfect. My only issue has been getting headshots in Shadowfall, but that games a laggy piece of shit even running native.
You use the touchpad to activate your special ability. That's about it I think

That is rather confusing. You may have more luck with the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Vita_games

I bought the system when it first came out and I have to say I am absolutely loving it it's been my personal most played system for a few weeks now (I own a wiiU, PC, and PS4 as well). I actually sold my vita for it (all of my games were compatible and with a gamestop trade in deal I got the system and pocketed $60 in store credit).

So.. Is media apps like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Plus on it yet?

I wanted to get one at launch for the PS4 streaming + Netflix/etc machine, but lack of Netflix at launch made me want to wait for more stuff to get added/etc.

Goddamn it, my EU copy of danganronpa is still waiting for Sony/NISA to whitelist it. Why is this taking so long?!
I have got an EU copy lying around waiting to be played too. Come on Sony!

Good luck with it, Akibas Trip is whitelisted (even in the store appears as ps tv compatible in its description!) but somehow its not in the code with pstv actually, cant make it run.

Im so pessimistic about Danganronpa EU being whitelisted and running on ps tv that I already asked for a US copy from playasia :( I hope the EU version is compatible some day though, anyway.

I've just ordered one from America, and wanted to know if the Power Cable is the same as the PS3-4?

Also, what is the best size memory card to get?

Want this just as a remote play box w my ps4. Does it work w the ds4?
Yep. Exactly the same as playing on a PS4. Pairing works the same way. Just plug the DS4 on the USB port, press the PS button and that's it.

Keep in mind that if you only use one controller, you need to pair it on each console every time. Ended just getting another DS4 dedicated to the PSTV.

if you buy digital games are have psplus, you'll want at least 16gb, but the bigger the better.

and no, it is not the same cord as PS3/4, though i've heard it's the same as a psp power cord

Yes, works great except no audio through the DS4.

Tried the PS3 chat pad and that pairs just fine with the PSTV - is a handy keyboard for passwords etc.

Oh shit. This is a megaton. I had no idea the chat pad would work. I wonder if it would work for FFXIV. I use my Vita TV to play all the time when the wife is using the living room TV.

Also if the chat pad works, any Bluetooth keyboard should work - in case you have one or would find that more comfortable for typing

Edit: just checked and it doesn't work with PS4 over remote play though..

Also in standby mode the PSTV is still sending a HDMI signal which stops my monitor turning off unless I do it manually

Just picked up a Playstation TV. Kind of a bummer about Netflix and what not but love playing games on it. Fired up P4G and I am super happy to have that version on my TV. I also tried remote play with Far Cry 4 and was very impressed. I did notice a tiny control delay but not enough to be game breaking. I need to fire up Diablo 3 on it later as that is my favorite remote play Vita game.

I have both physical and digital copies of Lumines and neither work on the PlayStation TV. I think it works on Japanese accounts but, ain't nobody got time for that.

First Vita thread I could find, and don't feel like making a thread over nothing. But GameStop has a new Vita SKU slated for a February release. Any idea on what it is? or is it just the 2000 un-bundled?
http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/consoles/playstation-vita-system-with-wifi/118939

Other vita threads are in community section.

That vita is without bundle and makes NO sense...since bundle is the same price.

Has Ys Memories of Celceta been patched to work yet?

No never. xseed is never going to bother with patch. Also Sony doesn't even want to whitelist their game that are suppose to work without patch (like Akibas Trip or Senran Kagura)

I should have asked this here.

Can I play Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles (psp digital download) and Castlevania Chronicles (PS1 digital download) on the PS TV with a DS4?

Dracula X Chronicles is not compatible with the PS TV, but Castlevania Chronicles is and works fine with a DS4.
