The lag in online is terrible.... A fighting game with input lag is no fun.
Where are you from and who do you play with (in terms of countries), if you don't mind me asking?

Okay, got this on Sunday so me and girlfriend could get some matches going.
We're both totally new to the series and finding the controls and pace of the game pretty tough to be honest. Pretty much had to re-bind the buttons and disable the jump by hitting "Up" option.
If anyone could give me a quick rundown of how to save your character when falling off ledges..it's infuriating being at 20% and not being able to recover from a small knock. I notice that some characters have abilities to "zip" around when airbound but some characters like king dedede will actually buttslam himself to oblivion...
Australia. I don't know where the other people were from.Where are you from and who do you play with (in terms of countries), if you don't mind me asking?
match anyone?

I played online with strangers yesterday in 4p matches, for 30mn with no lag. I'm now officially in love with Smash. The Villager is pleasing me a lot, but I'm not sure it's the easiest one to compete for a newbie, I'll try megaman tonight. The lag in online is terrible.... A fighting game with input lag is no fun.

Mapping "Attack" on the C-stick / second analog stick helps a lot, albeit at the loss of being able to whip out Smash Attacks with it.Anybody has a tip to reliably get forward tilts? (or tilts in general actually, but forward tilts are the hardest for me)
"Deviant Art joins the battle"
I am a teacher, so playing in the morning is rarely an option.up for a quick match?

Does the online mode not have an option for same-region matchmaking?
D1 and Zero were on UltrachenTV doing a smash primer!

seeing as there's been a few people in the thread wanting to know how to play smash, this might be handy (not watched it yet myself) :3
That is abysmal. =/No, and it's annoying.
I'm trying to think how one can achieve that shot in game. It appears to take place during Zero Suit's Final Smash, but what about the moon? Is that from the Luigi's Mansion stage? So I just saw this tweeted at Kamiya:

Amazing.

Abuse projectile attacks from a distance to rack up damage whenever you can manage to keep all the enemies on one side of you. I can't remember which moves are good for fishing for KOs with that character but you seem to get a bit of a knock-back boost in All-Star and can KO at lower percentages than usual. (IIRC, 50% or so is about how high the opponents should be before you start deliberately trying to off them.) While the AI can be annoyingly on-point with guarding/dodging on Hard, they seem to be somewhat susceptible to a dash-in followed by a quick up-smash on the C-stick when using some characters; I can't remember if that was any good with Duck Hunt.Has anyone did the all-star hard mode with the duck hunt duo ? Any tips ?
It's probably my 15th attempt, i'm gonna cry
I finished watching it. It was pretty good though it felt a bit scattered at times lol. They go over the very basic mechanics to some slightly advanced stuff along with differences compared to past smash games. Afterwards they try to go through all the characters and talk about various aspects of them along with some tricks to them. They do miss some things because of time though unfortunately. They went all the way up to Robin and are going to do the rest next week.
I'm finding it difficult to care about trophies that aren't in a trophy box. Anyone know how many boxes there are?
I knoww, whenever I get a trophy that doesn't correspond to a box I just feel annoyed lolol.
Trophy boxes = best new smash feature confirmed.
Yeah, that was confuzzling me too. It's like they've forgotten about it on the wii-u or somethingIs it just me or is Conquest not updating, even after the results have been tallied? On 3DS they'd update instantly with new ones.
Dammit, Mr. Game and Watch is kicking my ass, I've lost both times for his character get battle.
I'M REALLY FEELING:
Ness
I'M NOT REALLY FEELING:
Everyone else
Hope to change this soon. Really need secondaries.

No matter what character you're using, make an effort to get through the first 3 stages without using any healing items, then use 1 of them between each of the remaining stages:
< 100% - tomato
100% to 200% - bottle
> 200% - heart
If you've used the tomato but not the bottle and are at the end of a match with just a little under 100% damage, try to let the AI push you over 100% so that you can actually use the bottle.
There's definitely some luck of the draw on stages. The Gamer stage can be frustrating as hell.
Make it a priority to take care of opponents who abuse projectiles from a distance. Pikachu can be especially insufferable if he locks you down while Ganon or Charizard wail on you with stronger attacks. I've noticed that Samus and Lucario have a tendency to waste their charged specials, though; they'll often jump and shoot for no reason and let you safely stay grounded.
Thanks for the advice, i'll try again now
But I find it impossible to make it in the 4th part without healing, the part with Charizard is the hardest IMO
