Considering how incompetent Square has been internally, this can indeed be true.

Look at FFXV for proof of this. They announced a PS3 game before the system even launched, and it missed the entire lifespan of the platform.

So why is a new Level 5 game in the list of possible things to expect? They said themselves that the game would be shown at E3 2015.
 
My first Playstation console was PS4 but I will be getting a PS3 today! Already have a glorious backlog of games so hopefully one of the old IPs is revived and I can play through the series to get extra hyped. Once I grab the Ratchet collection I will be prepared for the new one so looking forward to that footage.

Make sure to grab the God of War Saga as well.....

With both series though I would pace yourself and not play one after the other as they are very similar mechanically...especially God of War....Ratchet is a very different game from 1 ->2, but from 2 onward they are pretty similar

Now that's crazy talk.

FF8 has that running over FMV stuff which was insane at the time. Someone should do that now actually, make a 3D room with video textures... Oh my, the time for the FFVIII prequel has come!

That'll probably be announced at PSX too then.

I agree with the reason the event is taking place in December. The point I was making was that any significant announcements would have taken place earlier so they could sell more units for the holiday season. There is no way I see Sony releasing any megatons with 2 weeks left in the holiday shopping season.
 
We need some Force Awakens/PSX .gifs happening. I have no artistic or technical ability to do it, but I'd like to see it.

Am I the only one that thinks a FFVII remake is kind of a bad idea? I mean, it's a great idea for sales but I kind of want the memory of that game to stay as it is. My wishlist for a good remake is very specific and I feel that it just wouldnt feel/be done right.

No, the reason it's in December is there are three major industry events, E3, GC and TGS, and they're back to back with a month between them. If you want a holiday release, and want to announce a game at one of them, you either have to announce a game with a four month marketing cycle, which sucks ass, or with an fourteen month marketing cycle, which sucks ass.

December/January is when the industry should have a big event. TGA alone isn't enough.

Sony don't need to win November/December NPDs, they have an incredible first half of '15 prepared, MS don't. If anything, having this event now is better for the sale of consoles too, hype is going to be insane, then they can drop two AAA exclusives in Q1.

Well i can't see how bad they would fuck up FF7.I never finished it,but they have the story,the characters and the ambiance,they should just re do the graphics and maybe adjust some mechanics.
