Respectfully.
lol, spot on

Ugh, I got tricked into watching a teaser for a trailer. I hate that shit. Can we call them something different than "teasers" because that term is already used in movie marketing.

T2 will always come out on top due to the absolutely fantastic practical effects and stunts

This was practical.

No wires or safety lines. Guy actually got out, climbed across the moving vehicles

Yeah, that's my main fear. The new T1000 will be 100% CGI all the way and the scenes that really floored me in T2 were scenes like the T1000 grenade scene. They rely and abuse it way too much these days. It's what ruined the new Thing movie for me.

Maybe you could single out someone from the cast based on the facial features but it's all up in the air at this point.
Uh, not really they confirmed who'd be playing it months ago. It is Lee Byung-hun, who has played plenty of action-roles, often with the emotion of a sterile robot so this shouldn't be too hard for him. It'll be interesting to see the turn-out for this movie in Korea and perhaps Asia as a whole since he's a pretty big star. Maybe not as relevant anymore but still a very recognisable name. It's funny how he always seems to land these average to great action movies in Hollywood and none that are really good. It's a shame really because he really puts the work in and has a ton of experience now both in Hollywood and in Korea.

Out of the films I've seen him in, "The Good, the Bad and the Weird" and "I Saw the Devil" are two I would recommend to anyone who wants to know him a bit better. Great films too, maybe not the latter but that's my personal taste.

Well, I haven't been following this movie at all so yeah lol.

T2 is still one of the best action movies ever made, up there with Die Hard 1. I would never expect this one to be as good, but it would be great if it was.... good.

Honestly i'm excited.
I enjoyed all of the films aside from T3 and even then that was on par with JP3.
Shit but a decent time waster.

What is it with T-1000s and impersonating officers?

The teaser tells me nothing so I'm actually mildly interested. By tomorrow I'll probably know better.

I'm expecting nothing but pure shit from this movie, but I'm going to try and enjoy the ride. Looks like we'll finally get to see the infamous time machine.

Well, since the T-1000 probably cant age like a T-800 it probably wouldnt make sense to bring Patrick back for the role. He doesn't exactly look like his younger learner self.

The T-1000 is a shapeshifter though, he could easily transform into an older version of his "default" form.

That being said, Robert Patrick seems to actually have a good head on his shoulders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWGtHVhpo4s

I still hope we get some kind of cameo, I mean the T-1000 is a shapeshifter. A SHAPESHIFTER!

I'd be sad if we didn't get some kind of brief "T-1000 turns into Robert Patrick" cameo.

I know another guy is supposed to play the T1000, but that shape reminds me quite a bit of Robert Patrick. Could it perhaps be that there are multiple versions of the T1000 in the movie and the Robert Patrick version we only see as liquid metal?
No spoilers please I haven't read any of the leaks.

Oh shit, Lee Byung-hun, yes! Had no idea of this. This is great news.

ps., you should check out A Bittersweet Life, he's awesome in it.

People that think the liquid metal effect looks better in T2 than this really need to take off those hater glasses. The examples in the post above prove that easily.

You can see more now, and it all looks pretty fake next to the practical effects and simple CGI from olden times.

It's not a great trilogy though. One great movie and two mediocre followups...

Yeah. First BttF is perfection. First part of Two is good, second half and Three are pretty shit.

I don't know. Everything about the shot looks like shit to me. Maybe it will look fine in other scenes, maybe even this scene looks fine in the end. But, the animation really just looks like shit in it. It doesn't look like something real moving, it looks like someone has animated him in a computer program. There's nothing convincing about him. There are certainly some not great shots in T2 as well, but overall I think T2 still looks fucking great and that mix of practical effects will help it hold up for a long time.

What?

Is this real life?

BTTF2 and BTTF3 are fun. BTTF2 has the best Biff.

I thought it was pretty widely accepted the first is great (one of my favorite movies ever for sure), second is okay, three is shit.

You see lil Arnold about 5 minutes into the first one...so yeah

You see Patrick's as well at the start of T2. I believe Cameron bitches about it (jokingly) in the commentary saying that he paid to have it removed, but it was certainly still there.

I think all three are really fun watches, honestly. BTTF1 is great. BTT2 is pretty good and ties into the first movie neatly. BTTF3 is a fun western twist and is better if you just fast forward through the Clara parts.

In terms of quality from start to finish I don't think BTTF has the same kind of quality dips that Matrix, Terminator, or Alien had personally.
