I made a vid showing Falcon's Rapid Jab using the "slide" that I talked about earlier. You can do this with a decent amount of moves, but I'm too lazy to make a video showing all of them lol. Doing this with Kirby's D-tilt or Toon Link's F-Tilt makes them almost feel like dash attacks.

edit: You can also pivot the attacks during the slide.

Nothing of Shulk's seems to work with this tech.

Gonna try and put this to more use with my Greninja and Link though.

Holy shit, this is awesome. Palutena's jab (probably?) got even better.

Does this work on the 3DS version?

Yeah, it doesn't seem to work with Shulk. I think it's because of how his skid works when you turn around. You can do U-tilt, F-tilt, D-tilt, D-Smash with Greninja and Jab, U-tilt, F-tilt, D-smash with Link. I might have missed some. I tried it with every character, but I kind of rushed through it.

It works with her Jab and Up-Tilt. Not sure if it works on the 3DS.

edit: here's what I found so far

Mario: Jab, D-tilt, U-tilt
Luigi: U-tilt, D-Smash, Neutral B
Yoshi: Jab
Bowser Jr.: Jab, D-tilt, F-tilt, U-tilt, D-Smash
Wario: D-tilt, U-tilt
Donkey Kong: U-tilt, D-tilt, U-Smash
Diddy Kong: D-tilt, U-tilt, U-Smash
Link: Jab, U-tilt, F-tilt, D-smash
Zelda: Jab, U-tilt, D-Smash
Shiek: D-tilt, U-Smash
Toon Link: Jab, U-Tilt, D-tilt, F-tilt, D-Smash, Neutral B
Samus: Down-Smash
Pit: Jab, U-Tilt
Palutena: Jab, U-Tilt
Ike: Neutral B
Robin: Down-B
Duck Hunt: Jab, U-tilt, D-tilt, F-tilt, U-Smash, D-Smash
Kirby: Jab, U-tilt, D-tilt, F-tilt, D-Smash, U-Smash (?)
MetaKnight: Jab, U-tilt, U-Smash, D-Smash
Greninja: U-tilt, F-tilt, D-tilt, D-Smash
Rob: Jab, U-tilt, F-Tilt, D-tilt, D-Smash
Ness: U-tilt, D-tilt
Captain Falcon: Jab, U-Smash
Wii Fit Trainer: Jab, U-tilt
Doc: Jab, Up-tilt, D-tilt,
Sonic: U-tilt

Some stuff only gets a little bit of distance. Depends on the character.

THIS is what I've needed for a good while. I'd love to see applications of this out of the quick pivots.

Its great for sliding Nosferatus... (giving away muh secrets)

...I'm picking up Robin officially now.

I'm going to hit people with this all day with this looking like:

The slide is small. It just lets you pivot a Nosferatu into a camper if they just sit around or dodge, and since its a command grab it has priority over their grab from shield. You can slide Nosferatu grab Monkey Flip... (fucking Diddy) >.> End lag is really, really long on the move though so you better know you'll hit.

Its actual application is fairly situational, and the pivot tilt or pivot fsmash are nominally better.

Unpopular opinion time.

Got my GCN Controller today (finally) and just been taking it out for a spin. I honestly think I prefer the GamePad & Pro Controller. Control feels so much smoother through it.
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm toying with the idea of playing this game in tournaments and therefore should be using a wired controller, I wouldn't be bothering with the GCN pad.

Analog shoulder buttons hurt in this game more than they help. I'd much rather be using a Wii U Pro Controller or Wii Classic Controller Pro. Honestly I'm not even entirely opposed to the Wii Remote because I'm terrible at utilizing the analog controls in this game; I think I'd have an easier time doing tilt attacks or walking if I wasn't accidentally smashing the analog stick to max range all the time out of habit.

My issue with anything other than the NGC pad is that the new controls do not have octogonal gates and the directional sticks are way too sensitive. Do way too many unintnetional dairs when trying to do FFHA on the Pro since even the slightest tilt is registered as me wanting to dair and then fall into the ground.

How different should I be playing this game than Melee? I was very, very good with Falco in Melee, but I'm getting my ass kicked in this game (skipped Brawl).

Every character feels slow to me - I'll be using Diddy or Fox, and I feel outmaneuvered even by slow characters like Bowser.

Do I need to take a more methodical approach here? Can't wrap my head around it.

I'm still mad my internet sucks or i'd play more with you guys :(

Calling comcast tomorrow AGAIN to see if they can do something. It killed a lot of my smash bros hype :/

Also, trying to 100% the 3DS version burnt me out a bit.

The need to play is creeping back up on me though.

I love baiting Villagers to do chop down the tree while playing as Pit or Dark Pit, they never suspect the shield will hit them instead.

UPS finally delivered my wii u, updated everything, created a NNID. I'm not good at all with the pro controller, i keep sweeping my thumb downward looking for the c stick. It's definitely going to take some getting used to. I currently have no friends, if you're rusty at ssb like me add me NNID Biocraft

Sure, I'm not too good myself. Let me know if you want to practice.

Got all the CDs. 8)

Gotta say, Master Fortress isn't so bad for me now. I struggled a lot with Alph at 9.0, but it only took me one try to clear the fortress (granted, by then I fell to 8.0, but still).

I've gotten nothing but Diddy Kongs and Toon Links all day. Diddy is a piece of shit and I hate him forever for his barely balanced priority moves and Toon Link was DESIGNED to be played online in matches where there's input lagg.

Disgusting opportunisms.

Geez, I am playing like garbage tonight, but that's not anything new. My friend list is looking bare, so I'm adding my name to the pool.

NNID: hypernoisebox

I play often and go by any rule set.
