I don't have a single specific expectation or want, and yet I'm still hyped.
 
I just want to say before we go back to hype:

Mods are good people. They have hard enough job w/out also having to interpret when someone is being sarcastic/joking/made a spelling error. I've made such mistaken bans too during my tenure, and had to undo a few.

So appreciate all the support, but even in my ban message they made note that the other guy got banned much longer than I did. They try their hardest. Don't harass them when things like this happen, they are really trying hard. Modding is a really thankless job sometimes :P

While I'm 100% down with more FFXV news, I would lose my mind if I heard something about a big Breath of Fire, Wild Arms, or Suikoden.

I'm already getting sad about this. So much teasing and I don't want to get my hopes but Jeeeeeze.

Sony somehow acquiring the rights or even funding the game would be such a monumental sign of fan service. Crash or FF7 would definitely show how much sony listens.

I think everyone was just having a laugh about it, they presumed you'd be reinstated when the mistake was discovered.

Unfortunately, you are right bird.

This current, PS4 focused, Sony has been very involved with the gaming community and their fanbase, more than ever in the past. This includes the entire lead-up to the PS4 launch when new games are announced and even with Boyes himself checking up on the other GAF thread daily with something new. This event is a one of a kind opportunity to mix Sony leadership, devs, pubs, and gamers of all types together in celebration of one gaming brand. There is no console war crap, no bickering among "rival gamers" to be had about who "won" the conference. This is all #4theplayers both new, old as well as those responsible for bringing the games to us, both big and small. Awesome, awesome, awesome...


With that being said, the poem TheBooya made was a shot across the bow to us all. People are gettting their expectations waaaaay overblown for this event (guilty as charged myself) and as it was said, we'll have to deal with the consequesnces of our own actions and overhypeness, lol. I still want FFVIIR dammit and will be dissappointed if I don;t see the spikey hair and a sexy 2014 Aeris appear on stage; I'll even take a glimpse of that bastard Sephi...

So glad I'm off work tomorrow and Saturday! Means I can keep up with it all as long as GAF isn't down lol.

Oh shit, it's still two full days to go? Damn, I thought it was closer than that. I'll catch up with everything on Saturday night, UK time. In about 50 hours from now.
 
Glad the ban got overturned, saw the mistake on Ami's twitter and had a good laugh at the spelling mistake :P.

Nice topic Ami, very weel summarized. Can't believe only two more sleeps stand inbetween us!

i still go by my prediction the game won't be near that when it launches. I mean, at the very least we're going to be dropping the 60fps dream :P
