The Falcon shot in a way that is completely new for Star Wars? And the rest of the trailer showing all new things and none of the old cast?

The trailer was about a minute long. When the actual trailer comes out there will be plenty of throwback bullshit. The only reason the Falcon scene was there was to act as the kicker to get every classic Star Wars fan to shit themselves.

I'm amused at the amount of people calling this trailer out for fan-pandering while not doing the same for Star Wars.

It looks bad but the trailer was still more engaging than Star Wars or Jurassic World.

What fan pandering? A shot of the Millennium Falcon?

Whoever's playing the T1000 is going a good job but everything else looks like shit. Way to fuck up a pretty standard predestination paradox.

I don't get why this is viewed as such a bad thing, honestly. Trailers in general are set up to be massive hooks to get you to see movies. You're literally complaining about something doing the exact thing it was made to do.

Much better than I expected, but the reboot-disguised-as-plot-based-timeline-antics is wearing thin anymore.

"I've been waiting for you"

*Brings the scientifically-proven least effective weapon against terminators to kill the terminator*

Will see because of Arnold since he's my favorite action movie star. T1&T2 are my goats of action movies. However, this does look like shit.

This looks abysmally bad! I cringed way too much throughout the trailer. I was ready to close the trailer as soon as I saw the bus getting flipped.

Yep. That was the moment I knew this movie was absolute crap. So ridiculous.

I will admit, seems like they're going all in on the crazyness of Time Travel. Loop upon loop, until everyone is played by Nic Cage.

Sure, but they've alreay established there's an actual movie there for the returning elements to feature in. This film iss like some other generic 2010s blockbuster with hamfisted "it's like Terminator but not as good" bits everywhere.
Like one of those crummy remakes of a classic horror movie.

It's perfectly ok to have fan service if there's an actual movie it's attached to.

And why am I the only one being called out instead of the people posting earlier in the thread about Genisys doing it too?

This trailer was shit, the Star Wars trailer was shit, the Jurassic World trailer was shit. All of them, in some way or another, used nostalgia to try and sell the movie.

Yikes, pretty no one in this movie can act or seems to care enough to try. Using lines from the other movies puts it into stark relief.

Terminator just doesn't work without Cameron. This is gonna bomb.

When the rights comeback to Cameron the franchise is gonna die for good since he has expressed no interest in revisiting the universe. I think there's was that one time when T3 directed by him almost became a reality but the dream is dead.

If I was making a trailer for a sequel to an old beloved movie guess what I'd do.

Congrats, you've graduated marketing 101.

Devout Terminator fan here.

Part of me just died.

But, what they appear to be doing doesn't appear to be as terrible as that which has been done in the past with this franchise. Not yet, anyway.

Sarah looked and sounded quite like Sarah, with slightly different genes. As did everyone else, really.

The premise, on paper, sounded awful. Whilst the trailer made it look like an interesting opportunity.

I just think the tone is wrong. Too much CG, too much high-octane action. It needs to be slow. Thoughtful. Sombre. Blue.

One is literally repeating shots the other isn't. There is a huge difference between paying respect and being an uncreative hack job.

What's next Paramount, Masters of the Universe ?

In a way I admire their execs, they acquire well known ip, turn them into utter dross and make a fortune.

The Jurassic World trailer was bad because it showcased really poor dialogue and failed to explain its movie very well. The Star Wars trailer was awesome as a teaser.
So I don't know what your beef with "a sequel being a sequel" is.

It's kind of hard to do a Star Wars trailer and not feature anything from Star Wars in it.
