I couldn't help but laugh. I wonder how that plays out in the full movie.

Why does everyone pick Jai Courtney. Now he has michael beihn part in the movie? Arghhhh. Not going to watch it till its on netflix damn you Arnold.

Funny thing... from an old interview
… My goal in that was not to insinuate myself artistically but to try to make sure they stayed true to the Terminator character and the idea of Arnold being in it. Because he’s a friend of mine and we’ve been through all the wars together and everything. And I wanted them to see the possibilities I saw for what they could do with this character.

And then David Ellison took the project over from Megan and he and I met a couple times. And so Arnold is very much front and center in the new Terminator films. So I might have had some tiny effect on it — but obviously they had to make the right financial and creative decisions themselves so I’m not trying to take credit for the film that they’re making but that was my goal in being loosely attached to the film but I won’t have any credit on it.

and
I pay attention to [the new Terminator films] but I’m not terribly concerned about it one way or the other. I’ve had to let it go. There was a point in time where I debated going after the rights. Carolco Pictures, the company that produced Terminator 2, was failing and in bankruptcy and the rights were in play. I talked briefly to 20th Century Fox about it. At a certain point, I think I was finishing Titanic at the time and I just felt as a filmmaker maybe I’ve gone beyond it. I really wasn’t that interested. I felt like I’d told the story I wanted to tell. I suppose I could have pursued it more aggressively and gone to the mat for it but I felt like I was laboring in someone else’s house in a sense because I had sold the rights very early on.

I'm pretty indifferent to Star Wars but I don't get how you can claim that was fan pandering. This trailer literally uses lines from the old movie in a way that I can only imagine the execs thought it was a good idea to do.

That's comparable to a film in the Star Wars universe using a spaceship...from the Star Wars universe? Can someone explain that to me?

Looks kinda meh but there a few parts that looked cool. It should hopefully be better than the last shit pile that called itself a terminator movie.

Christ, my bar was so low...

How...

...

???

What's the GIF equivalent of someone tripping over a curb-height limbo bar? I have no words.

I didn't read GAF until just now, but saw the trailer earlier. I thought this looked pretty good actually. Seem to be hitting some of the same beats as the first two movies.

Also my first thought when watching this was "Why is Quentin Tarantino starring in the new Terminator movie?". And then I was like "Is that John Cho as the liquid Terminator?"

Actually looks better than I expected, though that isn't saying much. Could be fun in a trashy hommage/retread sort of way. Obviously nowhere near the first two and the repeated lines are cheesy as fuck, but I now might actually see it (though perhaps not in theatres), whereas before the trailer I had no interest whatsoever.

Bus physics getting so much attention in a time travel movie. The priorities!

I will watch because I want to be entertained (And because time travel stuff is always worth discussing) :)

Edit: Also purple lasers <3

I just can't get over grey Arnold divebombing a chopper.

Arnold skin mod for Prototype incoming?

This looks...cheap. The lines, the cinematography. It's like a direct to video movie with a much bigger budget.

This looks amazing, you guys are crazy.

Also, the same trailer music was used in the last Planet of the Apes film, and it was starring the same guy. lol. They could have waited a couple of years at least before reusing it.

Every attempt at action or seriousness fell so flat jesus christ.

arnold nose dive into chopper blades.

liquid terminator with hilariously small hand blades.

naked handshake

Bus flying so goddamn high into the air for no reason.

Terminator the Ride 3d quality cyborg closeups.

Its got it all folks

I was sure this was gonna be better than the Jurassic "what kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab" World trailer

I set the bar real low here man, I was trying to be fair.

FUCK

You forgot the liquid T1000 doing the hilariously stupid chopping off of his own arm to turn it into a spear. I just can't...

Just cause there is time travel, it doesn't mean there are no holds barred. It still has to be internally consistent, and as far as we've seen, in their world, gravity still functions.

Also, why do they keep aiming so low?

I'm starting to think there is a plot detail that has them shoot so low...

Well, there we go with the explanation for Arnold looking old, not that far from what I jokingly expected with him getting accidentally sent back 50 years in the past though I guess from whatever time that T800 was sent might be close to 50 years.

Guessing there's another time jump where Sarah and Kyle get sent forward considering how modern stuff looks in spots and Arnold looking even older when doing the Terminmissle? Or did they just not give a fuck?

Emilia Clarke does kinda sorta, loosely resemble Hamilton a bit in spots in that trailer, at least closer than Jai Courtney does to Michael Biehn.
