I'm a huge Terminator fan and this looks to be a good throwback to the style of t1 and t2. The darker and a more crude depiction of judgement day instead of the brighter and slicker version of it in t4.

The only thing I have an issue with is John Conner. He seems way too mellow for a guy that leads the human resistance to take on the machines.

I don't get all the hate. It might not end up a masterpiece like t1/t2, but sure seems like good fun.

Why are most movie posters orange and blue. What is it about these colors that they think resonate with people.

Yikes.

I can't help but feel like everybody in this movie is terribly miscast (excluding Arnold, maybe).

In particular, why does Jai Courtney keep getting work?

Which will be worse? Jurassic Park or this I wonder. Either ways I feel sorry for the fans of both these franchises. Hollywood is completely bereft of talent when it comes to capable directors who can make Big Budget Blockbusters apart from two or three directors these days.

Gave it a few minutes. Watched the trailer again.

My expectations for anything Terminator are the lowest they can get. I really think this movie is going to be awesomely stupid. Like if Arnold made Terminator 1 and 2 without Cameron. It would have been dog shit. But fun dog shit.

No matter how bad this movie will turn out to be, I will be there day one.

Arnold is my childhood hero, I've been and seen all his movies and I will continue to do so until I die or Arnold dies.

Arnold is not the problem with this movie. It's pretty much literally everything and everyone else, unfortunately.

Holy crap that was awesome. Excited to see the spin on the original premise. Send Reese back to save her but she doesn't need to be saved because she's already a badass! Arny's also looking good! Enjoyed that trailer even more than the Force Awakens and Jurassic World ones. HYPED!

Honestly it looked fine up until the end with that stupid bus scene and CGI Arnold jumping out of a helicopter. Why would they do that???? It completely destroys the reality of the film.

How is this a good thing? This means her character won't change at all.

This is where an avatar quote of the GAFer with the "you are destroying my life" one would be perfect.

Emilia Clarke is an absolutely terrible choice for Sarah Connor, and I generally like Emilia Clarke. Even Lena Headey would've been better. Sarah Connor (particularly the post-training version) needs to be portrayed by somebody with a more... hard-bitten look, rather than a classically-pretty girl.

The T-1000 and Arnold are the only good things about this trailer. Arnold's divebomb in to a helicopter was fucking glorious.

The Terminators themselves look atrocious. :(

Will watch.

Honestly I didn't think it looked as bad as Gaf's consensus does. It looks like Kyle and Sarah are majorly miscast, but it looks like a solid effort is behind it. I mean, it probably won't suffer from the development hell, never ending script rewrite disaster like Salvation was.

The new T-1000's mannerisms are so close to Robert Patrick's that it's freaking me out. Also seeing the original 1984 Terminator go down like a bitch in his first 5 minutes after arrival is going to suck. That guy didn't fuck around, he'd shove his arm down your throat, and rip your god damn heart out. It's like that horrible TV trope where the former show badass gets his ass whooped by the new big bad.

Remember how the trailer for Salvation was great, yet the movie was shit. Maybe with this one, the trailer is shit and the movie will be good. Let's hope.

I'm a huge Terminator fan and I have not see this yet, but I'm reading your comments. I am afraid.

I'll get to watch it in about half an hour.

Why did Arnold's hair turn white by the end of the trailer?

Probably because the living tissue on endo-skeleton gets old much quicker than living human. After all, that living tissue is to deceive human beings & also to allow machines to travel time.

That explains why the old T800 was waiting for new T800 (which looks young). - Terminator that grows old (on outside) very quickly, it seems.

I like that it's stupidly over the top and ridiculous, it's why i prefer T2/T3 over T1. When the franchise tries to be too serious it turns into Salvation which was garbage.

Such a weird dichotomy.

T2 took itself more seriously than Salvation.

You guys are total lol. It looks rad. Emelia doesn't look "bad". She is necessarily a different actress. I don't know what y'all were expecting, except to say you think a popular franchise should stop making movies because you really liked the one that came out in 1991.

Appeal to Authority: I saw T1 before most of you were born and T2 about 4 times in the theater. I'm an Expert Chexpert. I am the walrus.

Cool. Why would I give a shit about that? It's a film, it looks fun. It's a reboot so the other films don't exist in comparison to this one. Take it on it's own, which I am. I'll reiterate, looks like a fun film.

It's hilarious to see people "ERMAGERD ITS RUINING THE OVAS" yeah, because this erases the others from memory. No. They're still there. They always will be. If you don't like this then move along. Rewatch the others if you want. This is doing nothing to those.

I just want to say that I think the concept is interesting even though it changes/erases/pees all over much of what we loved from T1-T2. I find it cool that they are going to relive the T1-T2 timeline, yet the little speaking snippets from certain parts of the trailer (clearly inspired by T1-T2) were super corny.

However the look of the trailer could send a Terminator die hard fan into a tail spin. They've over done the look of the future, the setting, the cgi of the environment (including the machine that sends them back in time) - the way it was done in T1-T2 was simplistic... yet at least it looked more realistic and it worked well on screen.

Arnie rocks as always (even though most will say at his age he shouldn't be doing this).

Salvation couldn't do it, there's no way this will.

Yup.

Salvation was a joyless, lifeless non-film. It brought back the self-serious tone which was appreciated, but unfortunately it came with no soul or reason for existing, and characters who were shockingly dull. T3 actually looks interesting when put side by side with Salvation.

I will see this because the script requires the mother of dragons to actually do something. If I score a free movie ticket.

I don't know.. it looked okay to me up until that bus scene (shudders) and I'm giving Emilia Clark a pass because I feel this is before Sarah Connor before her adulthood so she still looks extremely young.

His hair was only white during the helicopter scene though... he had his normal hair color in the rest of the trailer.

My (and other peoples') problem is that she's badly miscast. Sarah Connor's character needs an actor in the vein of Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, or whereabouts.
