I don't get the crash hype... I played the games when I was a kid and I loved them but seriously... Of all the things you could wish for you want crash back?

I'm Curious as well. All we know is that it's something "unexpected" as they said on Twitter. With that, I don't think it's any IP they've done before.

My best guess is either a new IP for PSN or a revival of an old school PlayStation franchise. Either way I don't see it being anything triple-a. They have their hands full with MLB.

Another popular theory is that it's a resurrected Warriors Lair, that hack n slash, loot, RPG originally announced for Vita that was supposedly cancelled.

Agreed...I mean we had subsequent games in the series which pretty much drove the series into the dirt...So many games which would be much more worthy of reviving. Say Medieval, Syphon Filter, Wipeout, Colony Wars, Legend of Dragoon, etc.

Yep I believe it exists but it's nowhere near ready and it's definitely not going to be at PSX. It's just hard to see some people who are genuinely hoping to see it.

But ah, I guess I shouldn't be one to kill the hype train in here.

Imagine if Super Mario 1, 2 and 3 came out and you never got World. The Crash people deserve their Mario World.

Nostalgia coupled with the fact that they were really well made, fun, and lighthearted (the last of which the Playstation is lacking)...hope that helps
 
Any word on what, if anything, we might see from Persona 5?

Hopefully more than a picture of some desks. Would be nice to see if they improved the dungeons and if they have done anything with the combat since P4G.
 
For everyone commenting that the Crash games were not that good, (I disagree, for the record), just because Crash is brought back doesn't mean the new game would be the same thing.

You can revive the character and really freshen up the gameplay and design while still staying true to its roots.
 
I feel that if we all just believe.. everyone.

We might get our Santa moment where Final Fantasy VII:R will show up and make us all kids again.

The problem with an FF7 remake:

Situation 1: Remake identical to the first game with ONLY updated graphics. Combat/menu/gameplay/dialogue text (no voices) remains exactly the same
Result: People continue to complain about the randomized battles, turn system, etc. Also call them lazy for just changing the graphics and not putting in effort to revamp the game itself

Situation 2: Remake with a completely gameplay overhaul as well as a graphical one. Changing the nature of the gameplay requires completely redesigning certain areas.
Result: Nothing Square does will meet expectations people have, and people will blast the new choices.


There is almost no FF7 Remake that could possibly satisfy everyone, it would require walking an extremely thin line between tradition and modernization, and I have zero faith Square would be able to walk that line.
 
Are those posters saying "he's back" and "a classic revived" legit or fan made? If those are legit how could that be anything but crash?

I personally doubt it, but then again I didn't expect it to actually show at TGS. Persona Q is out, P4AU is out. All that's left is P4D and P5. It might be time.

If it's a remake, it can't just be a graphical overhaul. That would be a remaster. It needs to be a true remake.

Crash was one of the highest rated and best selling franchises of the PS1 era. So yes, it is what a lot of us want to be the "return" game.

Yeah, I can't imagine it being a big budget project knowing they still have to work on MLB. Still want to see what it is, though.
