I could have swore I saw an interview ages ago where Ono was asked about SFV and he basically said its the series he is most passionate for but that Capcom wasn't giving him the green light. Does that sound familiar to anyone else?

Okay, SFIV was the 10th best selling game that Capcom has made. The only games bigger are Monster Hunter, Resident Evil and SF2.

Yes, just last year in June 2013 Ono said there was no money at all to make SFV. Which is why I am wondering if Sony heard that and then immediately went to make it a reality, securing exclusivity in the process.
