I was waiting for this. It's a case of your reach exceeding your grasp. A game that is being sold to me as a infinitely large, graphically beautiful, exploration game is inevitably going to have it's beauty judged. If this was Broforce I would judge it on its shooting mechanics and level design. If it was minecraft I'd judge it based on its gameplay, creation tools and fun factor.
This is a game that has sold itself not on gameplay but exploration, graphics and scope. So when the graphics on a planet dont extend very far and the scope seems to be covered in fog it is going to garner some reactions.
No one is taking away from what this group has managed to create. Me least of all. I think it's incredible what they have done. But that doesn't stop me from being a consumer. And as a consumer I am going to judge the product relative to its cost, value and the interest it generates to me. And since what interests me is the experience of exploring and the beauty of the landscapes and planets, this footage leads me to want to wait for a PC version that may better deliver on the marketing.
