Lol @ the Earthbound demo. 1 minute out of the 5 you are allowed is dedicated to the introduction cutscene and then you barely have time to do anything. They should have let us played freely and stop after the first fight or something like that.

I've already beat it so it doesn't bother me much but it makes the whole thing look stingy.

This is what I did for Kirby's crazy appetite event match. I absorb DDD power and than I proceed to eat the food using the B rather than pick it up. For some reason using B to eat the food with DDD power recovers more health and I finished this on hard too with 20 sec left to spare. Of course luck may play a factor too because food that one time also conveniently kept spawning in one area while all the DDDs were stuck in lava ping pong.

Thank you so much for that advice! It was driving me so crazy that I had to finish it on Easy. Now I'll be able to do it on Normal difficulty!
 
Anyone having trouble with old Gamecube controllers and the controller adapter? I'm having the strangest issues. I can navigate the entire menu with the analog stick and press A to make choices. However once I get into a fight, the analog stick no longer works and A doesn't do anything. This happened last night during the beginning of the night. Later on I tried the controller again and it worked fine. What gives? Even stranger, if I go into Test mode in Controls, pressing A shows up on the bottom as having been pressed but an attack is never thrown out.

I actually threw away an old controller that was doing the exact same thing, thinking it was broken. That might not have actually been broken at all. Ugh. Anyone else seen this? It's driving me nuts.

EDIT: Weird. So in Test mode I swapped the old with the new, it bumped me back to the controls screen. Tested with the new, worked. Swapped new with old, bumped back to controls. Tested with old, worked! Aah!
 
Do we have any new info on tournament mode and the miiverse stage? Now that PotD is over, I'm thinking these things aren't coming soon.
 
Holy cow I just met the best Ike I've ever seen online. She's probably a pro girl of sorts because she just reads my moves like she's a psychic and knows how to utilize those fast falls like I've never seen before. Got demolished on the first 2 rounds but still managed to salvage 2 wins to make it 2-2 before she quits. Would love to fight her again.
 
I can't uncover 100% of that wallpaper mini-game after beating the Classic Mode

I always end up at 99.93 or 99.98% :(

What's weird is that I always win on the 3DS version. I wonder if they raised the difficulty of this game somehow or if I just got worse
 
Has anyone here experienced disc load errors with this game? It worked before, but now whenever I insert it it shows up as invalid disk. All other games work fine. I honestly don't know what's wrong and what I should do, so any help is appreciated.

Edit: Eh, I guess I'll just try exchanging it at a store.
 
Just had a few games with a guy whose Ike was just a touch better than mine. Frustrating. I mopped the floor with him when I played as R.O.B. though.

Can you not counterpick - i.e. pick someone who can deflect projectiles, like Pit?

It definitely seems more difficult, even with the items. Probably has something to do with the altered ratio of credit to portrait size, and the more varied grouping and movement patterns of individual sections.

He picked several different characters so it was unpredictable, also I want to get good at ZSS before learning anyone else.

Speaking of, anyone got any good tips for ZSS? I'm having trouble finishing people off but I guess that's an inate weakness of her's and I'm not that good yet so that may also be a factor. I know her b-air is good for finishing but it's quite hard to land.

I'm not pro with Peach but things you can do are chuck vegetables at opponents while they try to come back. Another is use Peach float to move towards your opponent and hit them with nair or fair as they try to come back. A trick you can do for characters like Rosalina and Pit up B recoveries is that if they try to go for the ledge, float near the ledge (but not grab it) and fair or nair when they get close to you. Hope that helps.

Same here, surprised how hard it is this time around.

Anyway, I have an overdue Amiibo question. Can you play AS them like they were custom characters on steroids? I've got a great Custom Link that helps me get thorough tough battles in Events, Classic, and Crazy Orders. It would be cool to pair that up with an Amiibo and make him even stronger. Same with Ike.

Man, that 50,000 blocks in Trophy Rush challenge is waaaaaaay too big of a number to be completely untracked the way it is. I feel like I have to be close, but I still don't have it and it really bugs me not knowing when it'll pop up, especially since all I'm getting of value out of Trophy Rush now is the occasional new custom move.
 
Guys, I fucked up my amiibo :(

I gave her too much Attack items, and now the diminishing returns is so bad that I can't get her back to an equal ATK/DEF/SPD build.

FFS.
 
anybody know a retailer that sells a bloody gamecube adapter in UK? i figured after a week there would be stock somewhere but i still can't find any!

playing on a wii remote + nunchuk is not ideal >.>
 
Has anyone compiled a list of the alternate stage options? Not the Omega stage, the Z/Zr button. For Bridge of Eldin, it makes it never blow up, Lylat Cruise gets a different backdrop, etc.

I'm absolutely terrible though. I also have no idea how to play as Charizard, but he has an Aerodactyl colour scheme, which is too good. I need to practice some more as Greninja though; he's definitely a fun character to use. I'm having most trouble landing his substitute counter though. Your Wario is great though. You absolutely destroyed me the last time you used him :lol.

It was smooth on my end. No worse than stuff like Soul Calibur V on PS3. I'm in the north of the UK though if that makes a difference.

It doesn't matter if you get good connections to some server next to you. And if you think that was good, it is because you are used to your lag.
 
Question when Gannondorf does his choke than down tilt how do you get out of that? I've managed to roll sometimes but it doesn't seem to work all the times. Is it input lag getting in the way?

I always thought it was based on just destroying enough credits. I didn't realize you also had to attack the credits right when it's over the tile I need. I guess I'm dumb and lack common sense -_-
