all this thread does is complain. you make Korra sad :(. It's still a good show or you guys wouldn't be watching it.

I still like the show quite a bit. Its just more of a disappointment over certain decisions and choices the show has taken over it's run. As it could be so much more better than it is right now.
I'm still enjoying Book 4, but for a final season it's plot line has been a tad underwhelming along with its slow pace at times. Still i'm optimistic that the finale will give us a worthy end to the series. Fingers crossed or at least give us some amazing fight scenes again.

There are so many chances that Bryke can pull a fast one on Nick and end it with a Korrasami ending or reveal that Su is Aang's.

But yeah, ATLA was so good that you have to see the ending of the sidestory Korra no matter how shitty it will be.

If we ever get a sequel to Korra, it should be set in a 2010s equivalent and the new Avatar's main concern should be how many people liked her new status on Tenzinbook

Her selfie game is tight. IPhone bending at the same time. Text probably says "looking fly while fucking up my adopted mother"
Eh, I've got stronger game. I can take group selfies with a razor.

Just sayin'.

Tenzin would be the last person it would be named after. It would probably be Kikibook/Kikiscroll or some shizzah.

Why would it be a joke? He was the head writer.

he was but the running joke was him coming in and saving everything himself in superman like fashion and not a team effort like i honestly think happened (he does his job the team do theirs etc).

But with how this series has gone i sometimes wonder if he reallty was the lynchpin of sorts LOL

I like to call it the "George Lucas effect"

A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and ROTJ (to a lesser extent) were good because Lucas didn't have absolute authority on the films.

The prequels were those films, and well, you know....

Sometimes I get the feeling that Bryke feel like they are writing A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones tier material, when they aren't really.

i don't think its that bad tbh but hey.

Also they can still build an interesting world in theory at least but the execution just feel off and then they change certain things to better position the new stuff they are trying to introduce.

More fan art doing what Bryke couldn't or didn't want to do:

is it wrong to say that these pics tells the story of these 2 way better than the actual fucking series has?

No. I've bitched about these two not getting a proper flashback a jillion times probably. Kuvira has a lot of narrative potential, Bryke just refused to dive into some of it and that's what pisses me off about the whole thing. There's a lot there, probably writes itself, it's just not addressed. Instead of giving us a villain we can actually sympathize with, they give a stoic Nazi allegory.

She should've been a major side character in Season 3, not shoehorned in at the last five minutes of the finale.

I said the very same thing. Since Kai is pretty much on the back of milk cartons now they should've just had her join team Avatar when they had to search for Aiwei, that would've given them plenty of time to interact with Kuvira and make her a known personality for when she goes evil, it gives them more of a moral dilemma. How can you fight some one that has actually saved your life and what not. She was just a sprinkled in cameo last season, and they knew she was going to be important too, barely did anything with her.

Show could've been better but whatever, we all will say our piece when the show is over and break it down to brass tacks. Korra is still my favorite animated production airing today, and one of my favorite shows. Hamfisted characterizations and all.

So yeah, it's stupid how much wasted potential the show has, but I'll still rewatch choice selections like I do with AtLA.

We all will. Just sometimes I'm like:

Korra was my favorite thing going for a while, but Steven Universe has really captured my attention recently. Its doesn't have the same flashy fight scenes, but its beautifully rendered and has great world building, reminiscent of AtLA.

I do sometimes wonder if we truly are the vocal minority and the vast majority of people love Korra as much as they do ATLA

We definitely are. This website overall seems to be like that for mostly everything, both OT and Gaming Side. It's not a bad thing, but I feel like most people can cut through the crap here.

Despite still believing the writers are still kinda do a cop out move by reinstating Wu as King. I have a tiny sliver of hope that the bugger will not and that Kuvira's Imperialium will live on in a more balanced fashion.

This flag probably saw more of the central continent than Wu and his all bloody family ever did and will.

I wonder if they ever come over here only to say that's rather negative.

I imagine the drive by posters that come in here and tell us we're too negative hail from the reddit community. I never felt that good discussion occurs there, but it's good for funny and topical pictures and 'shops.

She's definitely a mishandled character. I like her still, but man they really could've done more with her unless next ep is actually her ep.

I'm hoping it is, but BWHAHAHAHA Bryke and all.

Seriously, listening to the commentaries, it's eye-opening to hear how their though-process works out and what they think works or doesn't. Cool guys for sure, but man, I've been burnt enough though this season in terms of what I hope for in each of these characters.

But season isn't over yet! =D

I'd say that Korra, outside of S2, was one of the highlights of the season it was airing beating plenty of anime that I was watching at the same time. Can't remember if it was S1 or S2 that was airing as I was doing an internship abroad in my home country/family city, but I'm pretty sure it was S2 because after each episode I'd be disgusted with the writing but then walk to my cousin's apartment and chill there as I forgot everything to do with Korra

So far I have the season 2 and 3 blu rays, but I've never listened to any of the commentary. I only know some people on here use it to beat Bryke over the head with. If Wu gets more screen time than Kuvira, in an ep with her fucking name in it...my god. I'll still watch, but shit. It would probably leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll probably cry. But none of you will be there to witness it.

But you should give the commentaries a go sometime, and get the first Blu-Ray damn it.

Only reason why I don't own it is because it's up on Amazon Prime, maybe some time down the line, but not anytime soon unless it's on sale for like $10.

is Zaheer is the most complex Avatar villain alongside Azula.?
maybe Amon, but that was the last few seconds, and it was Tarrlock that got the character development.

Not even. Zaheer is extremely simple, if anything. He loves Guru Lahima and cannot lie and that's essentially the extent of his characterization. His love for P'li and his teammates could have been emphasized for more depth, but P'li is essentially fridged so he can get a fancy new airbending power and he doesn't really seem to care that much for his teammates beyond them being his teammates. Zaheer is a show of how complex characters are not necessarily the preferred characters, though I do think he ought to have been written in such a way that garnered more complex interactions than "OH GODDAMN, ZAHEER IS FUCKING UP MY SHIT"

Amon was not complex, though he was more complex than Zaheer. His initially believed idealogy was compelling, but we know how that turned out. His actual backstory is pretty basic "daddy was mean to me, so now FUCK EVERYONE" and even in his more complex relationship with his bros is schizophrenic (where he's okay with debending him, but not killing him and later wants to join up with him). But I really wish people would stop conflating our initial hopes for the character with who the character actually was at the time. Amon was a presence that demanded our attention, and that's what made him such an intriguing villain, not that he had any complex machinations going on under the hood.

Unalaq was simple because he essentially had no motivation except evul.

So Zuko and Azula maintain the crowns of being the most comple Avatar enemies. And while Ozai isn't hugely complex, people really miss the subtleties of his psychology. There are some very interesting points about how he treated Zuko and Azula that have surprising implications about his intents, though they don't turn him into any less of a monster.

Korra has a crappy Avatar, crappy Krew (except Asami) who don't even appear to be friends, crappy mentor, no Aang, crappy story, crappy villians, underwhelming world building. At least the music and art are great.

Korra has crappier villains.

'Cept Ozai.

Bah.

If there is a villain that's Korra tier in TLA, it's probably Zhao. As far as I can tell, he was just a petty, greedy, dishonest, and destructive man who wanted power just because he's that much of a dick, and pretty much just existed so Zuko could look nobler in comparison. He wasn't a bad character though, since someone like him existing in the perpetual war setting that TLA was in is not only plausible, but pretty much expected. He apparently has a fanbase of people who like him though, surprisingly enough.

Damn it. This show can't catch a break unless it's art or soundtrack related.

*shrug*

I'm nice to the show when it earns it. I praised the season 3, despite it's shortcomings. If it wants to get less shit, it should stop being bad to mediocre in everything non-art/soundtrack related.
