Neil Druckmann talks about Nathan Drake mass murderer discussion, calls out NeoGAF

I don't really want to watch the whole video. Can somebody summarize here or give the times where they actually do call out Neogaf. XD

The link goes straight to the timestamp in the video where this is brought up.

Bigger issue is stuff like the new Tomb Raider where they try to contextualize it and fall flat on their face.

I always thought this was a given. The games wouldn't be as entertaining without the amount of combat that they have. But didn't Lazarevic at the very end
call Drake out on killing so many people?

NeoGAF Expo. March 20016, we have the credibility now. Work on getting devs and actresses on board to make apperances. A panel just on the Harry Potter girl, Keynote by EvilLore and Bishoptl, Jstevenson showing off Sunset 2 Xbox One exclusive, a panel on gif technology, OT wing, etc.

His response is basically the logical, sane, non-sensationalist clickbait response of, "it's a game, what do you expect?" He also says you have to just know what game you're trying to make and ignore NeoGAF.

Neil basically said it's like Indiana Jones and him killing lots and lots of Nazi's. You don't think about that, it's just pure escapism.

"And don't listen to NeoGAF!"

Yea, that's bad writing in that they're treating it as a problem even if they don't feel that it's one. It's so half-hearted that all I can do is roll my eyes.

An entire room dedicated to TLG, FFVII Remake and Agent, but with a councillor.

"It's a fucking video game, deal with it"

Gona love posting this when this tired discussion comes up again.

Basically,

"Violence in games is a stylized reality that doesn't actually reflect what it would actually be like. It's fulfilling certain expectations that games have as part of playing them. Likens it akin to Indiana Jones killing a bunch of Nazi's. You don't worry about it. Also, ignore NeoGAF."

been ages, but could you actually beat parts of uncharted levels without killing everyone?

Don't remember indiana jones having to clear platoons to progress to the next scene. action in movies tend to be more about getting the fuck out of fire fights, than actively kill everyone.

Nope I think you had to *clear* the wave before you could move on.

Uncharted 4 looks to be taking cues from TLOU though where you can simply bypass enemies. Though I'm sure certain parts will still require you to clear them

Kinda falls flat when it's Lezarevic saying it.
Y'know, with the whole war criminal thing. Killer of his own men and unarmed civilians alike.
