According to the official story, the online issues would have still been there, but launching with the weather would have helped perceptions surely.
 
Just pulled the trigger on this from Amazon. I don't even play racing games, but these gifs and impressions pushed me over the edge. This is definitely the best looking game on the market right now imo.
 
So on 12/8/2014 the diminishing returns debate officially ends, because this is the biggest leap we've ever seen from one generation to the next.
 
Holy shit. My first 45 minutes with heavy rain in Norway at 9am and I still never finished my first lap. Rain + photo mode... too addictive.

okay sold! just bought this bad boy with ps plus discount along with Wolfenstein tno on the holiday deal. Looking forward to some amazing gaming ahead :-)
 
Just now getting around to playing the update.

I'm absolutely floored how great the weather system is. Had to pause the game and marvel how amazing heavy rained tracks look

It had to move the needle, game went from about 900th to currently 103rd on Amazon, so something happened.

More people that will lose their lives to challenges...just one more, I can beat then, 5 hours later, you still didn't beat then. :/

Interesting. I know I contributed. 35 bucks is 35 bucks.
 
I really didn't plan to get back into this game due to GTA5, but now I am addicted again. Challenges are amazing with friends, the free DLC is great and the mp is finally not a clusterfuck anymore.

With all the shit Evolution got (deservedly) I am happy to see the game in this state. I will probably also get the next DLC as it includes the 458 Speciale.

Quick question for anyone with a wheel: is there a button that resets me to track? It keeps telling me to hit L3.

(I've been going off the road a lot lol)

I do 1 on 1 sessions too.

Lol but really, the weather effects are something else in the game. It's just blew my mind when I started my first race. I wasn't even 10% done with the race when I started to mess around with photo mode.

Seriously though, online is improved drastically, all modes work, challenges are live, weather effects are live with no frame rate drops, and overall its working a hell of a lot better than it was after launch.

I do still notice some server issues from time to time, but they're actually rare now. Some days it seems like they're operating at 100%, some days a little less. I think they need to keep working on improvements, but its like night and day since launch week.

On my T500RS it's... L3. Not that I ever need to use it, because of, you know, all the... mad driving skills and such :\
