J.Cole has had the best album of the year (in Hip Hop) for the last two years now. Cole World all Hail King...wait now it's Cole Da God

I came in with low expectations, and I'm still disappointed.

This guy just isn't animated enough / convey anything interesting to me through his lyrics. He's waaay too preachy, without having anything interesting or unique about his delivery.

J Cole is the patron saint of being average.

COLE IN YOUR STOCKING: Early, early reads suggest that Roc Nation/Dreamville/Columbia's J. Cole is on track to move a whopping 240k-270k in his opening week with album 2014 Forest Drive. The set is currently #1 at iTunes on its first day of release; single "Apparently" is just impacting radio now. (12/9p)

240k- 270k with no single on the radio or promo is very impressive.

I'll wait till I get home I guess.
The mobile version of Google Play only lists clean versions.
Most of Fire Squad is edited out the ass it's sort of annoying.

This has grown on me a lot more on repeated plays. Very solid album.

Standout tracks are imo 03' Adolescence, A Tale of 2 Citiez & Fire Squad.

Now i love my underground hardcore rap and usually hate love songs, reason i hate Drake!
but theres something about J.Cole that clicks with me, doesn't matter how cheesy 1 demential his lyrics are i find my self constantly listening to it.

im hyped for this.

Not a fan of this album. Pretty boring. *goes back to Prhyme* also can someone please fix the title to say J. Cole? Couldn't find it when doing a search

Seems like it's actually coming from somewhere instead of being a fucking word soup that doesn't mean anything at all. Pretty good listen.

Best album from him, loved all the tracks except for Hello (WTF was that shit). Fire Squad is the stand out track, verse of the year right there.

Cole remains cohesive and this will probably have the best opening week for a hip hop album this year (shit year but whatever), loyal fans will be loyal.

Thanks for this thread.

I HAD NO CLUE this was coming out.

I hope its like warm up or friday night lights.

last album had some forced songs but i always look forward to hearing new j.cole

I liked it a lot. Felt more personal. A lot of singing. No features was cool. I enjoyed Born Sinner and I enjoyed FHD.

BTW They updated their numbers.

Now projecting 320-350k for FHD.

350k in 2014 with no radio play and a leak the week before is incredible.

After listening to this album for a while now, I really, really like it.

It's easily my favourite of his three.

I'd say in a few years it'd be up there with his mixtapes.

The only song I don't really care for is Wet Dreamz, as I don't feel like it fits the rest of the album. My favourite track is probably Apparently or Love Yourz.
