The wipers leave streaks?! D:

Where is this stated? Not calling out - I just want to know where to stay up to date on this game.

On an unrelated note, are all the events missing weather? I only played a couple of single player races when I got home and did not see any weather.

the current tour events were made before the weather was available, so hence they are without weather. Upcoming tour event DLC will include weather on the events.

and weather is coming to MP Thursday

@Rushy33: @phipsi1996 From Thursday you'll start to see rain online :)

This was on the developers Twitter. Can't wait!!
You have to go into race setup and turn the weather on. But it only works with time trials and races you set up.

But it is unfair now. You can't see much at all in bumper cam, they need to block the view MUCH more in chase cam and break the wipers in cockpit (or just reduce the effect in bumper, whatever works).

I'm pretty sure chase cam, bumper, and hood cam all have the same level of obscurity/raindrops hitting them, or at least I don't see any differences.

Well no, in bumper you are very low, cant see the turns normally anyway and you may as well close your eyes when in traffic for all you can see, rain being heavier in this view is a further penalty.

The rain beads in bumper/hood/chase cam look to be rendered differently to the cockpit ones though, they don't lump together. You can actually see through the ones in bumper cam, see most of the road at least, and I can still drive pretty decently. They also only obstruct your view if they're reflecting light, so in night races you can barely tell they're there. In cockpit and dash cam, once the raindrops flow up and lump together you're basically blind and it's even worse at night time. I think the only camera that has a bigger advantage over all others is cockpit, since you can barely see the raindrops so they don't obscure your vision, unless the flood of water moves up.

Again, I like the effect in bumper cam and don't find it excessive at all compared to other views, so instead of completely changing/reducing that effect, it'd be nice to give an option to those who want less of them in bumper cam but also leave the option for the current form. If they adjusted the cockpit cam to have the rainbeads flow up more frequently then it'd be an unfair advantage to those who use other views, which would mean dash cam would be damn near unplayable.

I think it's a fair balance between all of the views right now though.

This has to be the best looking game I've ever seen! It's absolutely insane this is a year 1 PS4 game! All I can say is Sony needs to relaunch/advertise this baby with the weather. If it were me I'd have it in every store kiosk as the default demo. It's a system seller!!!

I took these two when a previous patch came out and people said 'IQ is better/AA has changed/AF looks improved' - and it showed it hadn't.

And just took another shot now in the same time of day (ignore colour differences, different colour settings with capture card).

Hmm, it's hard to see a difference in IQ/aliasing in these shots (though there are increased details with the new patch, you can see cacti being rendered farther down track, and the trackside shrubbery seems to be slightly different with better self shadowing).

But these shots posted earlier seem to show better coverage of the AA solution. Look at the top of the driver's side door, and the electrical tower in the background on the left side of the shot. Stairstepping seems diminished. It's subtle, but perceivable. The trees also look much cleaner and natural instead of sharp, and that single pixel dot artifact is all but gone. The overall image seems ever so slightly softer, like a stronger FXAA was implemented or something similar (something harder to see in the comparison up top). And specifically other gameplay shots in motion seem to feature better IQ than shots pre-patch. I wonder if it's just inconsistent with what and when it kicks in on.

Ok guys, I made a comparison from vanilla DC (launch) to the patch that came out today to see if there's been any change in IQ for gameplay. It's not a perfect comparison but I tried to get the lighting and positioning as close as possible.

Here's the original shot I took back in October:

And the one I took today:

I honestly don't see much difference but I do feel that the game...looks better...post weather patch. Not sure what it is exactly.

The ONLY thing missing, and I hope Rushy see's this is fog....can you imagine Fog in this?!

Actually for rain what is missing is the when you drive behind another car it should be nearly impossible to see because of the kicked up spray.

There doesn't seem to be much if any change in visibility behind another car right now vs not being behind.

While this new weather looks really good does anyone feel like Driveclubs graphics look like they need to be downsampled?

I know its at 1080p already but it just seems like if the picture image quality was cleaned up a bit more it would look the best there is.
