Nope, noticed them while driving the new Canadian track (got the 1st position back in the challenge! :p).
But I honestly don't think we can expect enhancements in this section, shadows are costly to process.

Fair enough. I don't even really see it when I'm driving anyway, too focused on not dying
 
I've been very critical of DC's visuals but I must say that the weather update brings such an awesome detail that I'm finally ready to admit that DC raised the bar for graphics in racing games. I was just completely surprised when I saw the rain running down the windshield, droplets accelerating just briefly when they touch each other also taking into account the direction of the wind, gravity and the curvature of the glass. Beautiful.
 
I just downloaded the weather patch and played Driveclub for the first time with heavy rain... OMG, the last time I was this blown away by a racer was with PGR 3 at the launch of the 360. Long time ago!
This game looks insanely good! And guess what? It also plays like a dream with a DS4.

This game also has great looking cars AND fast loading times! Evolution deserves a second chance with this game!
I must say... reading impressions from you guys has more meaning to me than "professional" reviews could ever do with their deadlines (limited time).

Don't let the Metacritic score fool you, Driveclub is the real deal! Everybody who loves fun racing games should pick this game up.
Go Rushy, go Rushy, go Rushy! Don't let no one get you guys down. :-)

Why? It's well worth the purchase.

If you try the PS+ version and like it, you'll buy it anyway.
If you suspect, after reading this thread, that you won't like the game....
a) you're nuts,
b) why would you still be hanging to try the PS+ version?​

Sometimes I think people just enjoy being miserable.

Holy shit. Just tried the game now that the weather update is in. This is the best looking game I've ever laid eyes on. I took a break from the game, coming back now the driving feels better than ever, the weather system has taking the visuals to a completely new realm. I hope people play this now.

it's pretty much one of the best racing games of all time in my view now. At least in top ten for me.
 
These graphics are rather impressive. Too bad I don't like racing games. Hopefully the engine used can be used for other genres? Imagine something like Dark Cloud 3 or Medieval 3 with graphics like that.
 
I think the atmospherics have been tweaked quite a bit for the weather patch. Even without precipitation, the way the sun shines at times looks very different from what I'm used to.

I was thinking that to myself as I was playing it just now, actually. I've played almost all recent iterations of GT, Forza, NFS pretty extensively. None have literally dropped my jaw like DC has, especially post weather patch. It's such a satisfying racer. I feel like I need to spread the word so more people can see this game, lol.

This game is so beautiful.

It can almost be a therapeutic experience at times, like going on a scenic drive, I often catch myself looking at the backdrops or admiring the lighting while in the middle of a race.

It's up there for me in terms of racing games. Still Gran Turismo 4 and Wipeout HD/Fury/2048 all hold a special place in my heart that I feel Driveclub won't be able to match, but for what it does as an arcade racer is pretty great.

Still can't wait for E3, hopefully we get some new details about GT7.

This is definitely the first game that in motion makes you go "WOW" this gen. Even my younger brothers who honestly don't really care about graphics, and who weren't insanely impressed by Driveclub before by any means, were blown away seeing it.

i wish to god I could play this game with these visuals on Oculus Rift + driving seat + steering wheel + pedals

I think my mind would explode it'd be so real. driving through the snow would be legit scary
