The ones I got from Amazon France were packaged perfectly
Depends. My wave 1s came in a big ass box together, only one was bent but I didn't keep the boxes. I imagine if you're ordering singles they might try to fit them in something tighter.
The two I ordered from Amazon were packaged and shipped really well.
Mine were shipped separately for some reason but they both came in decent sized boxes.

2) The stock out / discontinuation scare is a breeding ground for scalpers who are going after the lesser known characters.
I fear for Rosalina, Palutena, and Lucina

All three of them are gonna have it much better than the likes of Ike or Mr. Game & Watch.
Incidentally I can't wait to see how they make a 3d trophy of the latter.

Apparently Best Best says Wave 2 is going to be split in half. My Captain Falcon now says 12/30.

I dont even think most stores got stock yesterday for todays wave 2
Both my local target and bigw only had mario, peach and pikachu at 10am in the morning
Since everyone was posting their collections, figured I'd share my little Smash Bros. collection. Got all of Wave 1 but Marth & Villager hopefully coming from PlayAsia. Wave 2 preordered except Luigi. Wave 3...only got my top faves and 2 of the 4 exclusives.
Really wish Lucas and Ice Climbers weren't cut. No idea where I'm gonna find figures for them.

...Now that you bring it up, man, within the allotted Amiibo space, would it have been even -feasible- to put both Popo AND Nana in the same trophy stand?

Scalpers suck, but if people are whiling to pay 2,3, 6 times the value of something they sure as hell will keep doing it, even if the shipment was not 3 figures but 9, and as far as Nintendo is concerned scalpers are a good thing since retailers take notice of how fast they are selling and will ask for more amiibos and in exchange give more retail space for them.
I remember when Wii U came out and it was not available online anywhere and most obvious choices where sold out for about 2 weeks, then scalpers realized the demand was not there and where forced to sell the consoles even or at a loss, that is how I got my second Wii U, by the way x).
So right now we are looking at three situations with scalpers:
1.- Nintedo releases more rare amiibos to meet demand, or even setup their own shop to sell them on-demand for retail price or "refurbished", scalpers can't compete with them and had to settle for even.
2.- Nintendo re-releases more amiibos but in extremely limited quantities like now, about 3 per store and up for pre-order in the retailers, just like they did with the first shipment. Scalpers can take advantage of this, but this time normal costumers have the knowledge of how rare they are and will react accordingly to avoid a repeat of the first shipment, making scalpers only necessary for those who can't buy online, enter pre-orders, or won't bother with them until last minute.
3.- Nintendo does not re-release rare amiibos, leaving us sad, confused and scarred for life, may Reggie take pity in our soul.

You could pre-order on Gamestop since he was announced, have you checked online? Maybe it lets you pre-order then.
Aussie here. EB games let me preorder Shulk (and the rest of wave 3) before Wave 2 came out.

Shulk is a Gamestop only exclusive. He will not be at EB games.
Order it just to make sure you get one. If you're dissatisfied you can always buy a different one and return the other. As long as you can find them in stores anyway. If you can't find them in stores at least you'll have the one you ordered, even if it isn't perfect in your eyes.

Bought Fox, Link, and Samus today. Have Toon Link and Mega Man preordered on Amazon, and Shulk and Ike preordered at Gamestop. Will probably get Pit if I get the chance. Will certainly get Palutena, Lucina, Ness, and Robin when they come out.

I saw a bunch of Little Mac on store shelves at my EB Games (Aus). No Pit though. I picked up Falcon, which was what I was after.

Most of the Zelda figures I've seen look to have retained a relatively high level of detail, especially compared to the Peaches. If they had gone with a simpler design for the braids; it'd be among the better human amiibos.
yeah i feel fortunate for all my amiibos (Marth/peach/zelda/link) all look pretty solid so far

I am waiting for nintendo to do something like that minus all these additional..special clothing items they have for games which i don't care about i want to see a full force amiibo game along the lines of that

Opened all of mine today. Don't care about collecting and keeping things pristine. I want to touch them and use them! Got a few new suits in MK8! Still want that Falcon suit!
Slightly smaller to scale, about the same size as DK. Check their Brawl art, they're pretty much on top of each other- would make for an easy amiibo with a slight adjustment.
I had him on my computer desk until I moved. He's technically Ganondorf, so he counts until the amiibo comes out!
...speaking of cut characters, where am I gonna get a Roy figure? He's not exactly popular among FE fans...

They've said all Smash Bros fighters will get one eventually. Probably not until well into next year though.
No, but it's pretty much a given the entire smash roster is getting an amiibo.
I really hope we get a sequel to Hyrule Warriors with better amiibo support and a wave dedicated to it. I love the designs in that game.
I was just thinking of this today, basically an amiibo centric game in the vein of Disney Infinity and Skylanders. That would be awesome, and if it gave a good reason to own a lot of them then Nintendo would make a killing.
Oh lawd, I forgot that he's going to be getting an amiibo eventually. YISSSSSSS.

Yep, EB in Melb Central told me all figures were sold out in preorders, with only Diddy and Luigi making the shelf.
Although at Kmart Moonee Ponds I saw them all except Pit and Mac, so it definitely does seem to be the case.
They also had a broken Diddy (stand detached from base). I tried to get it half price but the lowest they'd go was $10. Which is good, but I didn't really want Diddy that bad.

As for Roy, that's gonna be tough. I've only played the games released in NA so I was pretty surprised to learn how many people dislike him.

I had to move him because my nephew can reach my desk now since it's out in the open. I've googled for some of the odd ones, but no luck. Best thing I found was a Lucas figure but they were no longer selling them on Etsy.

Meta Knight you can pre-order right now from bestbuy.ca. Shulk you can pre-order directly from Gamestop.com, or wait until your local EB have their pre-orders up.
The other 2, I have no idea how we Canadians will be able to get our hands on them. Maybe something will be announced at some point.
