Giant Mech confirmed and owning the fuck out of everyone with Kuriva at the helm?

well my prediction results is still at 100% so far then :P

lets see if the other episodes will go the same way.

Hmm.. I thought it was pretty good. Loved the Zhu Li & Varrick scene.

Meelo fart stuff -worst part of the episode, easily.

The giant mech was ... interesting....(Particularily the introduction). Seemed maybe a tad out of place. I mean, they *really* stepped up the technological advances this season, but a giant mech is really pushing it. Although, it looks like Kuvira controls a large part of it with metal bending, which seems pretty reasonable. I dunno, it was kind of cool.

Oh and those static "Wu in the train station helping fleeing citizens" shots... man, clearly a budget compromise.

Meelo: What about me?

Korra: Sorry buddy, but this mission depends on us being as quiet as possible, and Kai doesn't even have a voice actor anymore.

I'm still hype that I called Kuvira piloting a Jaeger a week ago...accidentally...

I am already on that train.

It is just that Giant Mech is actually harder to swallow than Giant Spirit.

Giant Spirit at least has a justification to ignore the laws of physics. Giant Mech hurts my brain.

Still awesome though.

Giant spirit? Yeah, I can buy it.

Giant spirit water bending? No, thats a pretty big continuity error.

I did like the book 2 finale, but realizing that spirit korra should not have been able to bend kind of hampered it.

Yeah, no doubt.

I still really appreciate Kuvira as a villain though. She is pretty different than all of the others. And while she is not fully developed, she is developed enough to be fun to watch.

Also, it is great that the show decided to go full Pacific Rim.

Very silly though. But in an awesome way. Quite like Pacific Rim itself.

I quite like Kuvira but she could really do with some better characterisation. It's much too late now, but a 'Kuvira Alone' style episode would have been good to give her more motivation.

Also, I found the giant mecha a bit too silly really. Like you say, I can accept a giant spirit monster, but a giant 200 metre tall mech just seems a bit too silly.

Can't believe she fired that thing at them 3 times and no casualties.

I know it's a family show, but I did find it a bit silly when Kuvira fired on the ships and they showed the air benders retrieving the crew as though to say no-one died.

Well, same thing with the plane scenes way back in season 1. Its to be expected, unfortunately.

But those gaurds at that outpost? They got wrecked. Poor guys.

i cant wait for them to destroy the robot and then korra and kuvira fight one on one on the remains of the robot and then kuvira kicks her ass and shows shes injected with spirit vine shit like in metal gear rising

As long as we get an awesome song to go with it, I'll be perfectly happy.

So the spirits won't get involved unless you forcibly involve them.

Take a hint Korra.

"Played pro bending, ya know."

"At some cushy ivy league school!"

"Try University of Zaofu. Could've gone pro if I hadn't joined the military. I'm not one of those beltway pansies. I could break president Raiko in two...WITH MY BARE HANDS! Don't fuck with this Great Uniter!"

"You're right about one thing, I do need spirit vines, and metal. Wanna know why? I HAVE A DREAM!"

edit: Episode is out on Nick I forgot, removing spoiler tags, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE EPISODE.

- Bataar Jr seriously thinking that Kuvira was going to sacrifice everything to have him back was crazy. She's not going to jeopardize her entire operation for him. I want to make it clear though, I do think that she had feelings for him and maybe still does, but she's also a leader and can't show weakness in something like this. Maybe at the end when they capture her and she gets to speak with him again she'll let off a clue that she did have feelings for him and that it wasn't an easy choice. Korra is most definitely taking her bending away though. Also the fact Su doesn't even know what she did to piss off Jr means that either she's clueless or she genuinely doesn't know. Maybe it was something as simple as never getting enough recognition for his achievements and being overshadowed by his siblings. Well at least now he has a reason to work for them and tell them the weakness of the mech. Because they're obviously not dead/

So yeah. As it can be seen from all the points I had a lot to say about this episode. So much happened in 20 minutes. This is the Korra S4 I've been waiting for. At the very least since they weren't fighting the krew wasn't made to look weak when around Korra so at least that aspect of the gang being together again didn't bother me. I gotta say that as long as the finale is decent the show will at least end decently.

Still though I'll give credit where credit is due: as long as the finale doesn't fuck it up we will at least have 4-5 decently strong episodes this season, even if the majority didn't mesh together well into a cohesive final outing for a show. But hey that's decent enough.
Kuvira doesnt truly care about Bataar jr. she was only using him, she was making time and only got interested when she learned Korra and the others were with him.
She appreciated him, but not much more than her other mooks.

god that mech is soooooooooo lame!

why doesnt someone just earthbend a little to make it trip?

Official Response:

It stands behind the rest of her army. Not only would it not be easy to get to it, but it may be difficult to tell where it will land. Might hurt the Republic Army.

Real Response:

It is really cool, and it needs some time to continue to be cool before the good guys take it out.

I actually laughed at the giant mech. I guess that's what they used all the metal from Zaofu for. Man, shit's ridiculous. And of course Kuvira gave no shits about Bataar. And now that he's feels betrayed he's gonna help them take it out. Lolol. Season 3 still best season by far.

My guess is that Korra shows mercy after wrecking her, but a distraught Batarr Jr. kills her for betraying him. I mean, she has to die because - as suggested earlier - it's her leadership and ideals which make her dangerous rather than just her bending.

Stupid? You mean awesome, right?

She deserves redemption.

Redemption!?

She's been putting people in concentration camps! I'm pretty sure the only reason there hasn't been an implied holocaust happening is because this is still a Nick show.
She sent Zhu Li to her death and she only just *happened* to be rescued!

Also, she was about to flat-out murder the Avatar in front of her entire army.

Isn't that, like, the Avatar world version of attacking Jesus?

I'm just going to assume you've been trolling this thread the entire time.
No dude.

Dude.

DUDE.

Dude, Zhu-Li betrayed her. You can't just be flimsy with the punishment of traitors. And the Avatar? She's been gone for three years and the world was in disarray, now Kuvira was doing a great job of putting the puzzle together. Korra hasn't done that. She had to go.

Oof, gotta be selective on the comments I read in here. Caught up on Book 4 last night. It seems episode 11 is already out but I wanted to know when exactly the episodes get added to Nick.com?

I wonder if they'll splice it as one episode like they did with Book 3. That would rock.

And yes, if they put it early, I will force myself to stay awake for it.

They're usually put up around 7-8am EST Friday mornings on Nick. But it looks like for the finale the episodes may go up at midnight.

Watching Toa defend the Book 2 finale is watching a horses owner beat it's maggot ridden corpse. At least Kuvira seems to have more of an imagination than Unalaq. Kuvira can't fuse with a darkness deity so she opts to construct an evil Mazinger with a Megatron arm cannon.
