All I know is they need to buff WarGreymon like crazy, the later season megas make him look like a damn scrub.

Not as much of a scrub as Metal Garurumon, who also suffered from most of his attacks being "plant feet, shoot missiles"
That was because all the boss villains were conveniently weak against angel mons. Wargreymon is a dramon killer. He did work.

TK was my favorite when I was younger because I also had a whiny older brother.
Kari superseded him when she joined because she had an awesome cat digimon.
I was a very shallow child.

I think the Taichi/Koushiro friendship is elevated by Our War Game. They had their moments in the show, but that movie served those characters well.
It makes me feel sorry for the characters that didn't really participate.
I only rate Matt above Joe and Mimi because of Gabumon and the fact that when he is done right as a character, he is pretty cool. Last arc kills his character though.
Joe was a character that grew on me more as an adult. As a kid, he just seemed boring. Now looking back, he is the only one who seems to fully grasp their situation.

But I actually don't think they look bad! I checked out of Digimon after the first series ended just because all those years back I didn't like the idea of a reboot, so seeing them pick back up where they left off is pretty wild.
Certainly never thought it would happen back in the day.

We can see from the picture that Izzy and Sora are going formal with the uniform, with their blazers closed, while Tai, Matt and Mimi are going more informal. Kinda reminds me of Persona.

I don't mind the art style being changed, but they totally lost all their charm...hopefully in the actual show, they'll have more unique outfits when they go to the Digital World or something.
As for new Digivolution methods, I thought it'd be cool if they could perhaps use one another's Crests to give new forms...like Greymon uses Matt's Crest, for instance, and has a new digivolution that has elements of both Greymon and Garurumon. Sort of like Fusion, except not actually fusing the two.

Conceptually, I think an evolution line that makes them more and more human is quite fitting; the longer they spend with their partners, the more their forms begin to be influenced by them.
Eh, I don't really like that concept but thinking about it I do realise a lot of the mega forms of the digimon are bipedal (except Metalgarurumon lol).

My issue is that it becomes boring and samey when all the stronger Digimon across different series look like robot knights.

It's especially silly when that one CGI movie had about 90% of the main characters as robot knights.

I actually think that's why HerakleKabuterimon, MetalGarurumon, and Houhoumon are my favorite megas/ultimates from the first season.
I was always a fan of the more animal-like digimon.

I like this notion.
Looking at this and then comparing it to the scans where they have the silhouettes of the digimon as well it seems they've mess around with the continuity of their heights. They've made the Digimon smaller relative their partners compared to this epilogue.
Matt and Sora combo blew my mind away as a kid.
Totally caught me off guard.

First posters can be deceiving. I remember the first poster for Captain America made me think it was gonna be much heavier + darker than it was.
Yuuko Kakihara is the head writer for this. I've seen some of his work in the Persona 4 adaptation- apparently it was pretty faithful to the source material. I don't know if anyone can comment on his other works?
Still, gives me encouragement that the writing will be better than Season 2. Especially since Genki Yoshimura confirmed he is not coming back. Looking forward to what Kakihara can do.

All these names involves makes this sound great! Just need AiM and Wada Kouji to be inolved in it.
Next egg will probably show the new Digimon design. I LOVE what they've done with the char designs in the 2 latest games.
