Some of us cut our teeth on Smash 64 (and I think it was the same in melee) which rewarded you for taunting right at the end of a match. It is merely habit and I don't mean anything at all when I do it.

Haha, that's true. I definitely used to get a kick out of going for the bonus after each classic mode match.

Alright GAF, I asked if people were interested in this before, and I saw ~10 people say they were. To me, that's enough for us to try and see if this works. I have never done something like this before, so bear with me as I try to figure out proper organization, and know that I welcome suggestions.

Looks like good fun. Signed up. Would love to play more GAFers. ^_^

-You will play a FT5 (first to 5 wins is declared the winner of the set) once per week with someone on the ranbat list, minimum (up for discussion).
-You will be respectful toward others, and understand that this is intended for fun - be a good sport.
-1v1.
-No items/customs.
-2 stock with an 8-minute timer (up for discussion if folks want another standard).
-No stages with hazards.
-Round Robin format (everyone plays everyone once - the player with the most wins at the end wins the season).

No customs is a shame, but that's a weighty debate to be had, so I'm fine with keeping customs off. 2 stocks, though? Can we please make it 3? In a game where gimps and suicides are frequent, only having two stocks doesn't provide the proper amount of opportunities for comebacks, which are a testament to a player's skill. Besides, 8 minutes for two stocks? 5 or 6 would do... But my preference and request is to go for 8 minute, 3 stock format.

You might also want to define what a hazard is. To some, the moving platforms of Delfino Plaza that interrupt grabs are hazardous. To others, they're a pattern that players should intimately know. I'll end up being fine with whatever stage list is designated, but it'd be good to provide clarification.

How to play Jigglypuff

I don't know. That Jiggly went for an unsafe rest on their last stock at a high percent. This GIF is more of a: How not to punish a Jigglypuff. Seriously, why didn't Megaman charge his D-Smash instead? And that F-Smash charge after she was recovering? Terrible call...

Mistakes were certainly made. Still pretty funny to see.

Life complete. Final run was done with Bowser with a defense badge, a defense HP regen over time badge, and an attack HP sucker badge. Took around 200kG in attempts to succeed.

I don't ever want to play Classic again.
Too bad I still have half the roster to do it with on 7.0.

Monster is well a monster. Hops around like a damn flea.

Edit: Yeah you weren't loving the Bowser, DDD, Charizard, Ganondorf beatdown I take it?

You are good enough to avoid my Flame Choke though.

Escape, poke, gimp is the philosphy! I made it an effort to never get locked in that flame chock, I can roll out of it perfectly offline, but rarely online. DDD was the terror for me, dudes range is so deceptive

Yeah I was winning more with DDD and every time I lost with him it was a close match. But be careful against good Ganondorf's because if you roll and the Dorf suspects hit he can tech chase you. I usually FlameChoke and shieldgrab to test the initial reaction so I know what to follow up with.

I can play you Jorge at like 8 PM EST. My ID is my username. You can add it whenever and I'll accept the friend request.

Placed 3rd in a tourney Saturday, lost to a DDD, I may have to do one of those "Learn him to understand him" type deals. It's nothing be does in particular that bothers me, but I hesitate and fool around because of his range. Gets me clobbered, I can't count how many time I just ran into your standing A combo

Yeah sometimes it's more of a "is this guy dumb enough to rush me" and when they do I get happy.

Sure thing I'm down at 8. And close match duo!
