Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Has there been any information regarding the availability of the PS3&PS4 compatible variants of the Madcatz TE2 in Europe? The European Madcatz webstore only lists the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the TE2 while the North American webstore has the Persona 4 and Guilty Gear variants of the PS3&PS4 compatible sticks available for pre-order. I hope we can get the Persona 4 variant in Europe.

He just posted on twitter that the California port delays mean they haven't gotten the sticks at the warehouse yet, and they're expecting them next week now.
Damn it, California. My wife just had to spill the beans early on ordering it for me for Christmas this year because they told her it wouldn't be here in time.

Everyone expecting updates on the Guilty Gear Xrd and Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold TE2 FightSticks, we (Mad Catz) have been posting updates on our twitter page. Due to the port issue (still), we are hoping to get them ASAP and will update everyone once we have more information. - http://twitter.com/MadCatz

In regards to EU. Unfortunately we do not have the rights (yet) to sell PS4 FightSticks in EU. We are working on it, though.

Markman: I want to get another TE2 next month. Will it be easy to get an Xrd stick in January?

We have already sold out of the initial batch of Guilty Gear Xrd TE2 FightSticks. We have a staggered shipment plan with most of them coming in the first batch and a small amount coming sometime in January. It's safe to say that those will be incredibly hard to get a hold of.

We are making more Ultra SF4 ones. However for GGXrd and P4U2, once they are gone. They are gone. Unless you go to events like EVO, then we have saved some for those events.

Best wishes, all!

Do I need to lamilabel artwork to put on a TE2 stick? I'm going to get the Xrd stick eventually but since it has the plexi do I need it to be sticky?

No, you can just print it out on regular paper and put it under the clear top panel.

Thanks for the info, hopefully you can get it sorted out soon. I had considered getting the Hori Real Arcade Pro V4, but hearing of the issue with squeaky buttons made me decide against it.

Last gen Hori made a touchpad enabled stick for Otomedius as well

Not sure about the design, but I do like sticks not missing functionality of the controllers. It can make things a lot more bearable in training mode, depending on how the game is set up. Would like to at least see L3, R3, and touchpad buttons emulated somehow. I guess I'll miss the Xrd sticks, which I almost bought since I like the black sides and more subtle art, but I want to see how this all plays out with functionality.

Are the cutout holes in the template sized to be exactly the same circumference as the buttons? I have been wondering about this.

If they are smaller than the largest part of the button, the art would look better underneath but it would require the buttons to be removed first and the replaced afterward.

Since the TE2 doesn't require button removal for art replacement, I'm still trying to understand how the cutouts on the template are sized to allow for this.

Made a stick in my spare time during wood sculpture class.

Some internals...

A little sloppy, but it was pretty fun to make.

Sanwa parts, except for start/select where I used some leftover madcatz generics.

Zero Delay PCB for USB/PS2 support

Thanks for the update; glad I pulled the trigger on the Persona stick last week. Should be a nice birthday present for myself now :D

Wow, you made it out of a solid piece of wood? I can't imagine the number of shavings you ended up with hollowing it out like that.

Well I laminated together 6 pieces of lumber, then used a forstner bit to take out all wood - it's why it's all circley on the inside. Definitely took a lot longer this way, but it feels a lot more solid and looks pretty cool as a large piece instead of something more obviously put together using sheets of wood.

Probably should have made it a little smaller though, it's pretty bulky. Maybe next time.

Was expecting the HRAP4 to feel shoddier based on reports, but it seems fairly solid to me (without being too heavy which is nice as I generally play with it on my lap). Quite liking the Hayabusa, not a fan of the balltop though, will it take standard japanese balltops? I think I've some spare Semitsu meshballs I'd prefer to use. Kuro's seem fine, much of a muchness really, might swap them out. If ordering plexi for this is it the V3 / VX SA or V3 SA KAI layout?

Hey all looking for some help. I've got a pretty old TE1 at this point and I'm getting an issue with my inputs. When I move left or right the stick keeps outputting a left or right input for ~1 second after I let go of the stick. I assume this is an issue with the joystick that I can replace fairly easily, but wanted to confirm this before I went and bought new parts. Thanks.

Maybe the microswitches im not quite sure

Any chance Mad Catz will start incorporating the touchpad, L2 or L3 buttons on future models, or will the TE2 be the standard for this gen?

It's kind of a bummer missing out on functions for PS4 fighters because of the share button replacing the select one's spot. I barely ever use the share button, but use the touchpad click for training mode reset way more.

Wait, so on a ps4 stick there is no button that can rest positions? You can't bind it to anything else?

Aw, man. That's really sad to hear. Lots of games use that touchpad click for various things, fighters included. I'm legitimately upset over this. My Xrd stick is already ordered.

Reset on Xrd is record+play (L3/R3 by default), and you can remap them.

Well, that's good you can change it. I don't think you can remap it in Injustice though.

Hopefully future fighters allow similar remaps to account for missing functions if devs are aware and/or Mad Catz and others can communicate on this. Still would like the actual buttons though.

Speaking of the Xrd stick, is the second batch coming in January pre-sold out too, or will more orders be opened up at that time?

I'm pretty sure it's not sold out. MarkMan's said (on twitter or shoryuken I think) he'll make sure to give people a head's up before the other Xrd shipment goes up for sale.

Guys what sort of shipping packaging does Mad Catz use for the TE2? Specifically the size. I'm not overly happy with my HRAPV4 and considering taking the plunge and using a shipping service to get the TE2 but I'd like to be able to get an estimate on how much it would cost.

Hey guys. I recently got a nice £100 tax rebate, and I'm thinking of finally getting a fighting stick with it, as a nice treat for christmas. I'm currently looking at the QanBa Q4RAF, but if anyone's got some recommendation for good fighting sticks around that £100 price range, I'd love to hear them.

If you want a dual mod stick for 360 and ps3 and it works on pc the QanBa is a very good deal and a good stick. I like mine a lot

Hey Markman, will Madcatz notify people who pre-ordered the Xrd stick when they finally start shipping out? Like will we be able to track packages or anything?
