Hey GGs sorry I had to go. Work.

As for the taunts I absolutely love them until somebody beats me so bad they taunt while I'm right in front of them over and over basically saying "I will give you all these free hits and you'll still lose!" It irks me a lot.

However I do taunt a lot, not to get the other person mad but to make them and myself laugh. Playing as Donkey Kong is it not funny seeing "U got DKO'd!" ? Or when I'm losing I taunt "O jungle gypped" get it?

I remember one guy beat me the heck up as Pikachu and he taunted "you got boost power! "

As a matter of fact sometimes when people don't taunt at all it unnerves me.

As long as personal messages don't say anything like "lol you suck" I encourage it.

26 people have signed up so far!

All skill levels are welcome!

RANBATS:
Ranbats are basically defined as a local "league" of players. It's kind of like a tournament, but more casual and relaxed in its setting. Everyone plays on a set weekly basis, and players accumulate points to "win" the season. There are no rewards here; it's just a way to keep folks playing and meeting new people, and it adds a level of discussion for the community.

EXPECTATIONS:
-You will play a FT5 (first to 5 wins is declared the winner of the set) once per week with someone on the ranbat list, minimum (up for discussion).
-You will be respectful toward others, and understand that this is intended for fun - be a good sport.
-1v1.
-No items/customs.
-2 stock with an 8-minute timer (up for discussion if folks want another standard).
-No stages with hazards.
-Round Robin format (everyone plays everyone once - the player with the most wins at the end wins the season).

Fair warning: the Google Form asks for your e-mail. The only reason I am asking for this information is to give you a Google Spreadsheet invite for recording match data. I am a public school teacher with access to thousands of addresses, phone numbers, and e-mails, and I previously managed a 70,000 person legislative district with all the personal information I could ever want at the tip of my fingers, including SSNs. If you are too paranoid to trust me, I understand and respect that, but this is the only option that ensures only tournament players can edit results without placing heavy record-keeping burdens on me.

Let me know if you think I forgot anything, or if I screwed up the Google Form.

Without further ado, quote this post to reveal the Google Form link below:

We need to play!

Yea after fighting a particular dorf who flame choked me 4x in a row after tech reading my rolls I decided to calm down on fighting against it. Rather get launched in the air than the shit that happened to me

Word of warning that some Dorf's will hope for a getup attack for a Super Armored Warlock Punch surprise after non-teched Flamechoke.

Yes we do I rushed out early today but either tonight or tomorrow morning will be good. Need to see how far you've come since then. I know you wrecked folks good. But don't worry my DK, Bowser and now Jr haven't just been sitting around either!
AWESOME! That's exactly it, haven't faced any DK like ever, I miss yours :p

I've been uair'd gimoed into a warlock punch before, I stay away from it. I did manage to sneak in some happer strike on you though, don't think I got any 9 KO's though

You guys are just going to ignore this?

I like this one.

I just wish we could get more of that Nintendo land musical goodness in the game. Even better if we got a general Nintendoland stage that could serve as a stage that finally mashes up a lot of Nintendo's Smash franchises into one stage, with it changing throughout the various minigames with music for each (possibly). Probably too late for that to be added, but it would be amazing.

I have a friend I fight and the same thing ends up happening.

I get knocked away, get back and grab the ledge.

He stands near the edge and spams down smash. If I roll away he turns around and forward smash.

What do I do about it/how do I get up safely?

Also, I keep reading rolling is bad and I know I roll too much. What can I do to keep mobility up and not roll?

Undefeated with Mac today so far :)

Anyone want to give it a try?

I'll challenge you later today, after I get home from work. :P

Mix up your options. Tap away from the ledge --> Jump --> Best aerial attack in immediate success. Samus's F-Air, for example, is very reliable at keeping edgeguarders back as you make a landing. You making a habit of doing that? Stop. Long roll now. (Hold L or R.) Only going back and forth between those two? Stop. Get-up-attack with A. Just keep your opponent guessing with you you're gonna get back on the stage. Mix ups are EVERYTHING in a fighting game, both for defensive and offensive options.

Thanks to you I learned the downthrow + up+b combo on Mac! Does it need a little more percentage for it to connect? I noticed on at least sometimes the person would get thrown a little too forward for it to work.

Any other Mac-tips? :D

There's a sweet spot by the ledge of the stage and around 90% or so
