Hmm not much to grasp from that ha.
Also someone on Reddit watched the finale early. She works at Viacom.

"All I will say is that romance figures prominently in both episodes"
Time for Makorra to happen ha.

The Varrick / Zhu Li relationship needs closure, you have the whole Kuvira willing to kill Baatar Jr thing, and you still have the outstanding Bolin / Opal pairing. There's plenty of romance to go around without getting Korra involved.

I was one of the biggest proponents of not having a senselessly violent Korra...but in the context of Season 3 and 4, violence was/is pretty much the only viable option Korra has. Which is a mistake on part of the writers, since I think they should have made those things atleast options because that would be uncharted territory for Korra to have to struggle with trying to understand a morally grey enemy. But by forcing her into a position of pure self defense, it doesn't really matter if Zaheer's philosophy or Kuvira's political stance have merits, they're way too fucking hostile to reason with. This is different from the Amon problem where Korra ought not to have reasoned with Amon, but connected to the Non-benders on a greater level than she did, which she totally can be blamed for fucking up. But with Zaheer and Kuvira, she is reasonable, but her opponents are not.

Well, as I said, I'm a writer. As of yet, I haven't written any fanfiction, though I was throwing around the idea of basically writing a Korra reboot that 'fixed' everything I saw wrong, but I ultimately decided against it. I was planning on writing a Naruto reboot until I realized the metric fuckton of an undertaking that would be. I'm doing my own fiction, but it isn't anywhere near worth reading yet. If there is one thing I will acknowledge is that creating content and evaluating it are two entirely different skills. I feel I am pretty damn good at the latter. The former could use work. But combine the two, and it is basically a long session where you beat yourself up, before telling yourself to get back at it and do better. Totally breaks your ego. But it's the only way to get better, I guess.

That's as good as an end to the debate as any. I'm just glad the points we both made got through in this otherwise huge and interesting discussion we've had. Thanks for the replies.

Having others constantly tell you the flaws in your work helps, too, though I think I've gotten much better than where I was just a month ago.

Also, the problem is that Violence really is the only answer to both Season 3 and 4 problems. Season 1 you could make a stretch saying that things easily could have been worked around. (Not with Amon, but with the non-bender populace,) instead that gets swept under the rug..

The ultimate irony, is a situation mostly about non-benders, and they had little to no say in any of the matters. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the only Reason Asami is a non-bender because the writers realized how poorly it would be if a all bending group made decisions. (Not like it mattered since Asami in no way represents any of the non-benders her being rich and all really removes her from the equation)

Some more interesting answers from the reddit thread. Spoilers!

Q: Is there a time skip?
A: A little one

Q: Is there anything that we will be truly surprised by, in the sense that it would be risky for Nick/Viacom to do?
A: Hmmmmm I'd say sort of?

Q: I don't know if you can answer or not, but does Asami get any kind of significant role or part in the finale?
A: Of course! She's a main member of Team Avatar!

Hmm so we might be getting a epilogue.

Well now this thread is starting to turn into a Black Ops document with all that [REDACTED] information.

I'm bailing for now, but I don't need to touch any of those to know that Kuvira was awesome and got some characterization and that Korra was equally awesome and not "the worst avatarrr evrrr."

PEACE. See you folks tomorrow night.

In a few days, the state of US action animation will get even worse.

There will be RWBY (on break between seasons) and...

...and...

...Star Wars whatever I guess. Maybe Ninja Turtles if I want to stretch my classification of action animation. Are there even new episodes showing of those Marvel cartoons that replaced the ones people actually liked?

If they had gone through with the bombing before we had found this out, wouldn't that be a declaration of war? And make Kim Jong Un go down in history as one of the most petty world leaders on the planet?

yeah kuvira's pretty bad

I saw the complete Second Season of RWBY in Walmart...I know the writing is pretty meh, but why am I tempted to buy it..
I bought both season on physical media to support independent animation from the US outside of the limitations of network executives, where ideas that wouldn't get made like action shows, adventure shows, serial storytelling, female protagonists, can exist.

It's a bad show in many ways, but it represents something important.

I haven't beaten it either, actually. I got pretty far in then just got fed up with where the plot was going. I intend to beat it next year after I get back from winter break, but who knows.

What bugs me about Ludger is that I can see the potential for an interesting character, but they totally waste it. The game didn't really pull me in, either, and I say that as someone who's played most games in the Tales series and has enjoyed all of them enough to finish them. Even Destiny on the PS1 that aged really badly. And two games that were entirely in Japanese.
I find the game to be ridiculously padded. There's just too many alternate universe side quests in the game. I ran into like two in a row and just saved and turned the game off. Ludger could be good but him being silent is an insult to the Tales series. I'll play it again eventually but it had a lot of potential wasted.

The padding is what convinces me that Xillia 2 was never intended to happen in the first place. The debt thing is so incredibly stupid and such a terrible way to pace the game. The alternate universe concept is really interesting, but terribly executed like so much else in the game.

I think we can both agree that Xillia 2 is Tales of Wasted Potential, lol. I'd say the same goes for the first game since it was rushed terribly. I think if they'd actually finished it before releasing it, we'd have a game possibly on par with Vesperia. Oh well.

That bingo sheet from earlier is genius. I almost want to print it out and fill in spaces as I watch.

Only action shows left after Korra finishes will be: Star Wars Rebels, TMNT 2014, and Ultimate Spider-Man (Hamfisted poorly done season adapted from an already poorly written comic arc). Hulk show got canceled and I think Avengers Assemble is still awaiting renewal.

Yeah vesperia is still the high mark. I'm having fun with Hearts R but Namco shitted out the localization and it pisses me off. I liked Graces F but the story is such a cliche, fun battle system though with fun enough characters at least. And yeah the debt mechanic in Xillia 2 is fucking stupid.

Just making a joke.

A time jump epilogue is obvious.

Although they said only a little one. So that crushes the idea of it being 10 + years and them all grown up.

SO TEMPTING

Meh, nothing big. Go for it.

it could at the very least be a 'where they are after the aftermath' like who they ended up with and what they are doing

FROM THE THREAD:

"There is romance"

Outside of Opal + Bolin / Kai and Jinora....what fuckin romance could even exist. I swear if they do Mako x Korra, it will be so bullshit. There was no build up to it, like at all. There has been zero romance since Book 2. And nothing so far in Book 4. So why randomly have something develop in the finale?

I would be sort of okay with Mako/Asami. Just because they kind of make sense, given their past. But even that. Fuck.

Varric Zhu Li has been hinted at and outright made obvious this season, so probably that. And it's two characters everybody loves so it's win-win. And yes I only care for that and Bolin/Opal

lol, the spoilers aren't major, or even really spoilers. People can chill out. Don't click them. But seriously, they aren't anything. Basically, no one knows jack shit about what happens.

EDIT: Still don't click them. Because they can spoil a little. But the point is, no one knows anything about plot, or anything substantial. So you don't have to worry about people accidentally saying something. The only reason there is black bars, is people know how sensitive folks are about spoilers.

But what was said, is basically nothing.

They're pretty tame. Nothing too big.

The spoiler tags, they do nothing.

So in jumping to conclusion and in response to the last two questions/answers posted I am going to say that
Korrasami may indeed be real.

I hope I'm not the only one who says this, but I wished there were a series of chibi shorts for The Legend of Korra. That clip episode felt like a brief taste of what it could have been.

Finished Evil Within...what a shit tier ending.

Back to Korra.

I love how he says.
Asami is going to have an important role.

I don't know what they are going to make her do...

Person said she had a role...doesn't necessarily means she has screentime or lines.
