Ranbat registration is closed.

I will send editing invites out within the next two days. Matches are welcome to start early, but Sunday is the official "start date" in terms of when deadlines will hit.

Edit: Woops, sent out an email to the wrong file. Ignore that! :-P

Are the rules for this posted somewhere (aside from being buried in this thread)? Might be good to have them in the spreadsheet.

Hmm. Google Drive Help says I should be able to set permissions for individual boxes to View, Comment, or Edit, but only View and Comment are available. If anyone has experience with this and knows why, please let me know. I'll be doing some research.

I plan on asking Intelliheath if he would add them to the OT's second post, since it has a lot of useful links.

Guys, huge breakthrough:

Last night I made it all the way to Master Hand on Classic 9.0, then I lost three times. I was using Mega Man. I freaking hate the Master Hand/Master Core stuff. It's so cheap, you get hit a few times and you're dead!

Mega Man's Warp Bomb (or whatever its called) SideB custom is ridiculous. It KOs just about anybody and everybody near 50% and it's easy to land. I recommend Mega Man for Classic mode if you need a character to get through it. His UpA and neutral B wrecks the Master Core bosses.... its just about staying alive long enough!

How is the online for folks so far?

Really solid on my end so far. Unfortunately not everyone has good isp and use the ethernet adapter, so playing randoms will vary of course. If you play with a friend with good connection, preferably not on the other side of the globe, it's really smooth.

I'm really finding that I'm terrible at this game right now. I was so used to Brawl that every time I pick up Ike I find myself trying to do so many of the things I did in Brawl only to find they don't work quite the same way anymore. It's so difficult to break those habits.
Ike's fair is completely different. Puts me off of Ike, as that was my go-to approach move.

One of my old gamecube controllers seems to be broke. The joystick doesn't recognize upward movement. Is there a way to fix this rather easy? Like, without having to buy new parts?
If you have a screwdriver set, you may be able to find a flathead that works well enough to take it apart. Check the control stick mechanism for dirt or loose connections. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace it.

Played Smash Tour with some friends earlier.

We agreed to never play it again.
It's great for, uh, completing challenges...

So I'm quite terrible at this game, but the tremendous lag is not doing me any favors. Is this game running smoothly for most everyone else in online 1 v 1?

I have my Wii U hooked up with the LAN adapter, yet every 1 v 1 is still really laggy. I'm talking slideshow. Latency seems to be fine. Are there any tips for improving the online performance or am I getting hosed by laggy p2p connections maybe? I hope it's not me lol.
Google your router type and "game console" and "application forwarding" or "UPnP" and you may find a helpful article or video.

Anyone else find the end credit game on Classic absolute trash? Like, I can't predict how long these names are going to be. I ALWAYS end on 99.97%, and it's just revolting that I can't get it any more than that.

Why get rid of the shmup? It was SO fun. To replace it with crap akin to a Spotpass mural is just gross.
If you're trying to get 100%, I recommend Shulk up tilt.

Terrible argument. Fox and Falco's lasers in Melee were both Red.

I'll be doing my Ranbat matches this Saturday.
Terrible counter-argument. Falco wasn't DLC.

Awesome. Send it by email I'm guessing?
Everyone should have received an email invitation to view. I just got done giving everyone editing permissions, but I also locked all pages from editing. I am going to try giving people individual editing permissions for the cells involving their matches. We'll see how it goes - this is my first time trying something like this.

How is the online for folks so far?

Inconsistent for me (wireless). Most of the time it's pretty good but for some reason yesterday in particular I was lagging against almost every person I played, to the point I was worried there was something wrong with my internet. The last guy I played against had almost no lag in those matches though.

I've been putting the stage creator through its paces...

So...perfect pivoting.

Are some of you guys learning it? Applying to your game? I'm gonna practice it eventually when I get more time.

First I'm hearing of perfect pivoting. Looks easier to do than wave-dashing, maybe?

Will have to try it out tonight.

edit: the video talks about mapping tilts to C-stick instead of Smashes which reminded me:

I set it to tilt and sometimes my character just does a standard attack; do I have to press faster/harder on the C-stick to get it to tilt?

I'm certainly going to put some real time into this today! This is an extremely useful technique. He showed me something that happens to me so much and how I can counter it with DK! Being pushed away from a Smash attack and not being able to punish really kills me sometime but this will really help me take advantage!

Hey so I saw a Zelda Amiibo in a store does that mean Diddy and Luigi could have been there as well?

Pretty sure Wolf's claw blaster shots are greenish.

Anyway this pic should make me sad but instead it makes me uh... think awkwardly

Haha, yes, the brackets are available! egrunts, I look forward to my salty runback with you next week! Same with you, Cyberman!

Good luck to all the rest, I gotta practice perfect pivoting now. :)

Yeah it's really interesting! I remember there being a video about it before the Wii U one came out, but didn't want to risk trying it too much because I worried that my circle pad would break.
It still broke >_<

I did try the C-stick with tilts on and I think you'll just have to flick it more than before since it doesn't initiate smash attacks in that mode.

I hope so! I want a Luigi one so bad lol.

how is the pro controller compared to gamecube controller.. can't find the bundle anywhere

They actually work pretty well! The only thing that still throws me off is c-sticking with the right control stick. It's alignment takes a while to get used to, but if you're willing to learn it can definitely be a great replacement controller.

I have found perfect pivoting usefull for Marth and ZSS, but not much for Link, works for him, but he doesn't slide as much as the others too, also cannot make it constantly online, so I don't use it often there

I tried perfect pivoting yesterday. atm I can't pull it off.
But I have to get better generally, anyway. xD

Whoever said Pikachu sucks in this game is crazy

He is ridiculous. I can deal with Sonic but a good Pika is a shiiiiiiit to fight against.
I feel Pikachu is one of Diddy's worst matchups. :D Pikachu's edge guard game is ridiculous and he gets a better reliable kill and recovery option with side B 3 when customs are enabled too.

Speed Shulk's perfect pivot is so fun to do lol.

I'm so glad I picked him up as a sub. :3
