You should take my approach: only care about a select few, pre-order them from multiple places if you want some security, and then watch the fireworks on everything else.

Had an email from Amazon UK saying that they have sent my Captain Falcon, but not Diddy due to an unexpected delay.
I would have thought it would be the other way round, plenty of Diddy's and shortage or Caps?

Lucario is the one my brother wants the most. I've got the ones I want out of the waves out currently. Still have a few preorders for bowser and a few more I'm expecting to be cancelled now.

I got my email yesterday morning saying my LM was dispatched. I ordered on 21 Nov, and only him, though.
This whole ordeal has left such a bad taste in my mouth. It's enough that Nintendo has turned to this money grubbing tactic that basically amounts to on-disc DLC, but I can't even buy this shit on sale or whenever I feel like it because of these horrible supply shortages and scalpers.

It's Nintendo's fault, and whether you order internationally or domestically, they're still getting your money. What, you think Toys R Us doesn't want your money at their slightly inflated prices? They'd gladly take it if they had the stock.
Only way to protest this is to stop buying Amiibos entirely.
It's Nintendo of America's fault specifically. Europe and Japan don't seem to have any trouble keeping stock or declining retailer exclusives.

I think if you asked anyone over the summer if amiibo would be selling out and people would be going nuts trying to buy them all they would have laughed at you. Nintendo wasn't wrong to be cautious with production. These things only work with a few games and only with wiiu, a system that is struggling in the market.
I think there's a lot of good reasons they were conservative with shipments. Its probably too late to try to ramp up production now.

Well Shopto cancelled my pre-order of Little Mac and he's sold out eveerywhere or up to £40 on marketplace sites like amazon and play. Managed to find him in stock for delivery on Argos.co.uk though. £3.95 delivery (or there abouts) though, can choose tomorrow morning though so it's not too bad.
For future waves I think I'll just put a preorder in at the nintenco.co.uk store early. They seem to have them all show up early and be a consistent price (10.99).
On the bright side though Captain Falcon arrived today.
