Has anyone found melee to be BS? I melee a guy with full health/shields, he loses shields. He melees me with full health/shields, he kills me. Plus there's def some wonky netcode, saw a guy melee me from a few feet away, killcam shows he was right on top of me. Also recorded random frame drop/freeze, will share links to both later.

Normal melee just drops shields. Reqs second to kill.

A rushing melee should be instakill if it connects.

Where is your location?? Sounds like you are playing out of region.. P2p perhaps..

My buddy called me telling me the same thing, I came on to check if anyone knew any workarounds............

EDIT: Reading up on some of you, I noticed some didn't have the invitation downloaded, nor did he. He installed it, and it worked! So there you have it. Thanks NeoGAF, especially you Syriel!

Did the early access DLC key download? Go to manage game and see if it is there. If it isn't installed, download and install that. If it is not there at all, then reenter the early access key.
 
Bummed.. Someone had told me they invited me into the Preview Program, but never actually did. No Halo for me til next week!

Loving what you guys are posting though. Sounds like a fun game
 
Put simply, I enjoy this game so much. SO MUCH

But not in a Halo way. It feels nothing like Halo. It is like Halo 4 Team SWAT (which I like) with good grenades. The movement is awesome.

Everything few seconds I complain about something stupid, but then I realise that I am only hating on it because it is just different.

So yeah, I like it, it's really something new.
 
um, when you scope the SMG the aim reticle shrinks to half size.

I'm also seeing a lot of auto aim going on, even on the official halo stream players are shooting a good foot away from a moving target and scoring headshots.

So why can't 343 leave the Halo name alone and rename this game Generic Space Shooter or something. They have tarnished the Halo name. Its as though the people working there never gave a flying fuck about Halo. They only wanted the name.
 
This game is what I wanted CoD AW to be like. I could never like any CoD but I thought movement speed and low TTK could go hand in hand like it does in Titanfall. Halo 5 Beta does it sooooooo much better than Titanfall even.

Overall impressions are positive. Been watching a bunch of streams. I really like what I see and I'm sure I'll love it once I finally get my hands on it. 10 days until I can play :(

Anyway at 70%. Shit i have to work tomorrow i hope i can get at least two or three games in tonight but it isn't looking likely. :(
 
My download just finished, but it doesn't let me play. It appears this message: "Almost there" The Halo 5: Guardians Arena Multiplayer Beta begins on December 29th. See you then! I've redeemed the 2 codes that I receive from X Live.


Fixed, I restarted my Xbox and works fine now.

Boom.. I hope that includes customs as well. I'm too old and don't have enough time to have a clan and shit. But customs on dedicated servers is great for people that do. You can arrange matches and not have Zeus on one of the teams.

Aiming is ridiculous with ads using bumper jumper
The bumper jumper layout is just horrible to me
Sword lunges just wow.
Doesn't feel very much like halo
Shield regen far too quick.
Killcams are nasty
It's lagging hardcore at times
 
I fixed my "only available Dec 29th" issue!!!!

I restarted my console. Go into Settings, then Power & startup and choose Restart Now. After the reboot It recognized the 2nd code automatically and let me play. w00t!

They did, it's called Halo CE, 2 and 3.
 
I hated the idea of the teammates AI speaking, but having played it I like it very much. It is basically what Grunts do in Titanfall. It stops non-communitive teammates from ruining the game.

I think that they should make it so dropped weapons are more visible. I can't tell what is what until I walk over it, and when I kill someone with a weapon I want I have no idea which one went where. They need to fix that.

Power Weapons should be told when they spawn, that's fine, but I don't like that it shows where it is the whole time. I could ping it instead I guess?

I really feel like Halo 5 Guardians is basically constantly Team SWAT. Forcing that pro team-DM Halo 2 feel in every match. Halo CE can have that feeling sometimes too. (I know I used a Sniper, but really the TTK is so quick even with AR at mid-range that it feels like Team SWAT)

I just really hope there will be some Halo 3, more open wide maps, where people aren't all using precision weapons constantly.
