anybody up for a game? nnid supersiddu

also available for anyone in the ranbats.

Hey, we can do our set for Ranbats. I'll add ya

edit: 5-1 my favor

GGs SuperBowser. Your Yoshi and Bowser jr. are excellent. I implore you though, really start playing on other stages. The dropoff in your game when I take you to a stage with platforms is pretty big. Gotta learn those counterpicks.

I see a lot of people ditching the Wii U Gamepad for a Pro/GC Controller. Are you simply accustomed to them or is there any other reason?

I've always used the GC controller, but the Wii U Gamepad honestly doesn't feel that different to me.

GGs. your ness is scary but at least i won once :p yeah, i've been playing for glory mode too much.

honestly didn't know how to deal with ness' PK thunder spam on platform stages though. i just couldn't get close! (and the input lag didn't help).

Perfection. :')

Anyone up for a match (and is in Europe)?
My NNID is kiminewt. I just got the game a few days ago so I'm not very good..

Also, reposting:
Anyone wants the Smash soundtrack, live in the US and doesn't have/isn't planning on having both Smash version?

I got the reward but I don't live in the US, so PM me if you want it.

GGs SoulLab.

I won 5-3

Your mario is strong. Had to cycle through a few characters before I found something that could stick xD I dunno if you had more characters but i think ganon is a pretty tough matchup for mario. Mario relies on being slippery and being hard to KO, but ganon cares not for slippery characters.

Guaranteed kill moves for Sheik, Zelda, and King DDD, GO!
Zelda's Up B can be pretty good.

Tried this and got some equipment and not much else. Of course, I'm losing every matchup cause I'm not playing... is there something I'm missing here? I wish I could use an amiibo in this mode.

I thought I had read that people were having four bots play smash run by themselves to get custom moves but I seem to have to have at least one human player.....what obvious thing am I overlooking?
You two, use 4 controllers. Set it up for 4 human players.

One of the four is a player. You don't need to play, though the game eventually takes control of your character if you idle.

I have started doing this. Only platformed stages for practicing.

Attack the Thunder.

Had a go on this yesterday and it was the same Smash Bros I've seen before. Button mashy and only fun (for us) for like 5 matches. Doubt I'll be buying it at full price.

Also, what's with all the Pokemon? Did Nintendo run out of characters?

You should play some people on here, get your ass handed to you, and then go troll somewhere else instead.

you won't get anywhere with button mashing in smash brothers. Despite people perpetuating this myth that smash is a simplistic fighting game, I think it has as high an entry barrier as any other fighter once you decide to become somewhat competitive. If you don't like smash, you probably don't like any fighting games.

There are so many characters with so many moves and so many individual interactions to learn on top of a huge array of hidden mechanics.

I'll never understand button-mashing to describe Smash. Unlike most other fighting games, you have to make a conscious effort to maintain a position that's both threatening to the opponent, and on stage. If you don't know what your buttons do, you can easily end up killing yourself. And the followups/combos that are there are almost always slow enough to look and respond with the next input at each step, you're not needing to press tons of buttons really quickly or anything. I could understand 'bad game', 'bad fighter', or 'radioactive water polo anime garbage', but 'button masher' just doesn't make sense.

What buttons are you mashing and how is it working out for you?

Well, mashing down + B with DK is a great way to clear all the multiman smash challenges :3

Woohoo I finally finished work. Off for 2 weeks.
So in my bracket I have

If anyone is on, let me know.
I'm in the UK GMT but I'll be on GAF/Gaming consoles all week.

I happen to be around now. I added everyone in the bracket, so I guess I could play a quick match or two. After that I probably won't be available until Monday.

Also, I love people who spam the same move over and over online, and keep doing that despite being punished to hell and back only because they just can't play normally with that character. Smash being more of a platformer than a straight-up fighting game means button mashing won't have you pulling of shoryukens which could do okay, but rather will often have you SD or do some pitifully easy to counter moves. Try button mashing against anyone who plays the spacing game and watch as you end up looking like a fool that gets little to no damage in.

ok I think I'm ready (to get rekt) xD
are you still available?

5-0 my favor

GGs Soul, that's a great Mario.

If you don't mind me offering a little critique, and this extends to some others here, I cannot stress how important it is to not just play on FD or Omega Stages. It hurts your overall style of play. Platforms help you learn a lot about how to approach certain situations, and all counterpicks aside from FD/Omega have platforms.

I just shreked a kid hard in Smash online. I went 13-1 on the kid lol. He didn't quit and was Palutena the entire time. His strategy was to up throw then up smash, it was so easy to counter/dodge. The only time I lost was since I wanted to be Palutena to troll him with his strategy. It was an awful strategy.

Not having played Pokemon since the original Gold/Silver makes the trophies kind of annoying. Sooooo many freaking Pokemon trophies. I'm getting pretty sick of them actually lol.

I'm a big fan of Smashville since it's basically as close as you can get to a synthesis between platforms and no platforms.

Right, but what are you going to do against me if I take you to Battlefield, or Wuhu Island, or Skyloft, or Halberd, or Lylat, or Castle Siege, or Delfino, or Town and City?

Tbh I didnt't realize that all these stages are available for Ranbats. lulz. Punch me pls. Thx for the info.

Magius, my Wii U froze for about the twentieth time while trying to load. :/ (It's literally just sitting at a black screen with the music playing and I can't stop it.)
Fun matches, though--and thanks for playing friendlies, too! Your Bowser is scary, lol.
I feel bad that I can't use Mac online. Even the tiniest bit of input lag just means instant death, so I almost never use him anymore... :(

Bracket 3
MagiusNecros vs Masked Man
Winner: MagiusNecros 5-1
