I didn't like Elysium, either. Compare to D9, it was ordinary and predictable, and action sequences felt watered-down. Maybe Blomkap shines when the movie is on a budget...

Just check the concept movie posted the page before. Blomkamp is making a movie out of it. Just as he did with Alive in Joburg.

The problem I have with this movie is it involves a not that's as smart as a small child, right?

That's all it takes to disconnect me, its a Disney movie with a bit of violence thrown in. Its just too far fetched for a real and gritty world. The aliens in d9 worked because they come from another place and it didn't reach too far.

Exactly. D9 is a climax of both action and emotions. Elysium is dead flat in both department, and lacks especially in the latter.

How is this any different from all the 80's movies that did the same exact thing yet people loved? All the unequal futuristic society settings has been done so many times, never realistic, yet it was fine, no one cared about the logic then
